battery charging - Galaxy S Advance I9070 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Whenever I charge my phone battery..from anywhere to 99% it charges normally! But from 99% to 100% only, it takes about 20mins to half hour !
Is this normal ? If not, what can I do to fix it !??!

I think the last percent is more than just 1% if you understand what I mean. When I take my phone off the loader, it also takes longer to go to 99 than from 99 to 98.

Try this (it worked on my phone) :
Pull out battery from your device.
Let it powered off without battery for a few minutes the reinsert battery, power on and try to fully charge

but for first time charge there isnt some tips like I read in a webpage where said that Wait to use battery until 0% and then charge it to 100% and after that wait 2 hours more and that`s it ,what tips you know for this? and the same process is withthe extended battery? bcuz I guess that they come pre charge but only for being calibrated right?

I think that I dont have a correct meaning of calibrate, I was thinking it was to fully discharge it and charged it to 100% and then wait 2 hours mre but
how I can calibrate only with a wall AC charger?(it`s brand new phone so it`s a bettery with stock pre charge which isnt good for having a normal usse at first time)

You can't. Battery calibration needs some low-level battery controller control. As we don't have that, just charge your phone, discharge it and charge it again. Do that a few times and your battery will be fully calibrated. Forget about deleting batterystats and such rubbish (read about that here..

Battery drains too fast

So, my OB's battery drains too fast...after I unplugged it at 100% it went to 99% within a minute of use and so on...so basically I lose like 1% per 1 minute. WTF?
Using IZS ROM. No widgets. No apps that eats battery, Phone goes in deep-sleep so it's not a problem.
EDIT : Not good to answer after playing Silent Hill.

i noticed that too.
but i must say that even tho it goes down 1% after charge ends, i still see good battery life, at least for me.
yesterday 3/2 the battery drained around 60% in 18h30m of use. i had around 47 minutes of call, around 1 hrs of wi-fi, took few pics with camera.
today 4/2 i didnt see the batt. goes 1% less when disconnecting the charger, plus had few calls no wifi or data use, and more camera use then before and the batt went around 20% less since morning in about 8 hrs total use time.
btw i can i take SS in this rom, i know the zeus v6.4 i pressed vol- and power and it took SS, what can i do now? only dl from market??

i supposed its best if you charge to 100% and used it until 5-10% before charging back to full.....it may prolonged the battery life......

I agree with you. The memory effect is still present in modern batteries.

You have to calibrate phone after changed different size battery. Download from google play some program, BatteryCalibration(free) or some else.

it takes alot of time
Use each battery down to about at least 30% (max down to 5%), charge it fully, repeat two or three times.

How long u waited for charging ? .253 noted takes longer time to charge fully compared to previous 434 and 350 firmwares. I back 350 and I don't see have that prob dy. Probably some kernel/firmware from 253 modded something inside. Try charge longer and report here again

starting a phone does not take 1% battery douche
I've got the same problem. In .434 when I was unplugging the phone, the battery was at 100% for about an hour or some , but it was at 100% , now on .253 when I unplug it from the charger it shows me 99% or very rarely 100% but only for a couple of minutes, I haven't done a re-calibration maybe that's the problem.
Yeah, I have same problem... After .253 update I can't get full charge... I was posting about this problem in thread "battery life". It's funny how some people has that problem, and some other hasn't :/ I was trying to calibrate battery, but with no success...
Yes,i have callibrate the battery too,but with no sucses
Sounds weird. I do not have the issues. Are u all charging the phone when it is off? I have mine in and when I take it off the charger it is 100%.

Well try charging it with the phone on. I am pretty sure that the phone after u turn t back on loses right away 1% because all the apps and everything and all the syncing process happens when u restart the phone. Is common sense, it will drain the battery. Same like when u do a restart with let's say 77% u will after the restart mist likely have less then 77%. So keep it on so the phone doesn't always has to restart all apps and all the syncing. Also the phone only charges until it is full but won't compensate if the battery gets a little less. In phone om state it always will keep the full charge in off it does not. So when u turn it on keep it on the charger for let's say 10 15 more minutes. Then take it off. Or just charge it when it is on. Don't even know why u turn it all the way off in the first place?

Thanks for the explaining.I will try to charge with the phone on.At night i do not use my phone, that is why i turn it off,I thought it is better for the phone.

No app is draining. Tomorrow morning after I'll take it off from the dock I will try stamina mode.

[Q] Charging questions and asking for tips

Just an inquiry. I just got my sony xperia z1 last week and may I ask if its okay to charge it even if it's still 30% . And if it is okay to remove it from being charged when it is not yet 100% charged.
i read on some articles that the battery of my xperia should not be 100% charged because it can hasten the aging process of my bat.
any suggestions ? thanks! I just love Xperia so much. It's so awesome! :good:

how long should it take to fully charge the phone ftom let's say 20 to 100%?
I have the impression it is taking too long for me as it went from 20 to 50% in 3 hours
Is there an app I can use to check?

That is so long. Are you using the charger that comes with it or an old charger?
mine takes ~2.5 hours to fully charge from 15%. But when I use my old X10 charger, it takes twice the time.
in case youre not using the phone during the charge:
(this calculation will not be perfect but good enought)
20% left means, that 2400mah of your 3000 are used.
your default sony charger has an max. output of 1,5A.
that means you can charge 1500 mah /hour
that means you need 8/6 hours to charge from 20% to 100%

wot?
the phone is supposed to fully charge in 3 hours...
I guess my estimates would be like 2hours tops to get me full charged. From 4%
Just charge it when you go to bed if less than 30% if more than that, Charge it it morning If above 50% should last a working day on stamina mode then charge it fully when you get in, I get about a day and a half which sometimes makes it awkward, unless you can charge it at work?:fingers-crossed:
