The inside has rubber piece that protect your phone from direct aluminum contact. The rubber acts as a impact absorbing material. It keeps the phone in place and prevents it from sliding around once the case is tightened down.
The case is closed by 2 screws with the hex key included.. The charging port opening is always large enough to fit the OEM cable. The large white and black ones. I tested this with both. Sweet Armor cases do not allow OEM USB cables. The case has a great feel while maintaining it's elegance. The case does not add much bulk to the phone. There is also a small cut out for a lanyard for those are you that prefer that method of carry. There is also plenty of room for the S-Pen to be slid out. There are also cut outs for the microphone and noise cancellation mic at the top.
The opening for the headphones fit the OEM headset easily and still have room to spare.
The bumper of the Note II Draco keep the camera high enough to not come in direct contact when the phone is laid on a flat surface. This is a huge relief. Another feature of the Draco case is the power and volume toggle switch is also made of aluminum. Attention to detail was not spared with this project.
Does this case affect the cell phone signal / reception? Not really. Visually I might see it drop a bar and bounce back. I'm not in a very good coverage area and the function, data and sound quality of my calls have not been affected. At home and work I have the same number of bars. Signal strength has been the exact same in both areas.
MSRP: $89.99 and is available at DRACOdesign in 3 different colors.
Conclusion: The case is minimalistic and looks sharp. It feels great in my hand and gives it a better grip than a naked phone.

I presume that with this case on, the battery cover is not accessible for removal? Not ideal for those who tend to swap batteries, Micro SD cards and such; as you'd have to dismantle/assemble every time.
Shame that the Sweet Armor cases don't provide adequate sized port opening for OEM USB, as its case design does allow access to the battery cover.

I just did a review. Nothing asked you to go into a thread and give your 2 cents. If it's out of your price range, ok then. I never asked you to buy it. I obtained a case and gave my opinion on it. Never asked what you thought of the price, where you thought it was made or how much of a discount was needed for you to consider buying it. It's almost like going into a ROM thread and telling the person that put it together that their ROM sucked, it needs more of X, less of Y and needs the X app. Someone did a review on a product I bought. I bought it because it seemed legit. Things didn't work out. I returned it. I didn't go back and bash it or anything. This was even after I bought the product. I just returned it and bowed out quietly. Just because you don't have it and don't want to buy it, doesn't mean it won't work for someone else. Maybe they will enjoy it. Sometimes some people just want the real thing. I did a Draco case review in the past with a good turn out. Many people bought the case using the 30% discount.

That's correct. May not be ideal for people who swap batteries and cards. But it's simple. It goes on and doesn't come of. It works great for me because I use one battery throughout the day.

Thanks a lot for the review, chrischoi.
I bought a Blue Thunder bumper two days ago and cant wait for it to arrive.
I was a little bit worried about the cell signal strength.
I live in the area where I rarely have a very good signal.
Does you phone have any protection film on the back?

That's a pretty douchey response bro. If u don't want people's opinions I suggest u post ur crap on a piece of paper in ur crapper instead of a "PUBLIC" forum.
But that's just my review.
Wase is a respected member of the note 2 community and I think u need to start treating other people with at least a little respect.
Just my "2 cents"

what,do you work for these guys?
this is NOT like saying a rom sucks...a rom is someones PERSONAL compilation, made from their hard work and effort..
this case was NOT made by YOU, so quit crying about my comments...90 dollars, or even 60 dollars is outrageous for a thin piece of TAIWAN aluminum, and if you dont think so, thats your opinion...MY opinion is this is a rip off, and you can find what probably is the exact same thing on Ebay for 20 bucks or so.
If you dont like my opinion, then dont read it...you dont have to agree with me, and I dont have to agree with you...

Thanks.
Reception wise, I don't notice a drastic difference. If anything visually it may drop bar, but it will regain it instantly. Seems to behave normally that way without the case depending on where I am.
Nothing on the back. Backs are cheap to replace. I ordered a OEM back with just Samsung on it, so I'm waiting on that.

Seriously? Are we here making statements about my personal life already?
Please, do not turn this thread into what it is not supposed to be.
You know, there is plenty of people in the world who can easily afford buying a Lamborgini.
I cannot imagine myself posting something like that:
$500,000 is a rip-off, never buy it!
Let's purchase a $12,000 Ford Focus.
It will drive you from point A to B too.
I have purchased a couple of aluminum bumpers and a whole bunch of plastic, TPU and leather cases on eBay and was not satisfied with any of them at all.
Of course, Draco bumper may not be worth $90 (actually, I got mine for $75), we will see.
I am tired of less expensive cases that are really not what I like.
It is so subjective, what case is good, what case is bad.

Personal riffs have no place in the forums. You're right about that. However everyone is entitled to his or her opinion as long as its not a personal attack on someone. You posted a review and someone responded. They said they thought the price didnt match the product. If you post a review of something in a public forum then you need to expect people to disagree with you. Its the age old adage....Opinions are like a-holes. Everyones got one.

OK guys, let's just take a deep breath. I hate to get in middle of this, but I kind of understand both sides. Prior to me starting to write my reviews, I made exactly the same post as Wase about another aluminum bumper vendor with a price tag of $100+. That was one side. After I started writing reviews, I discovered another side where I contact vendors directly who I think offer a great product I believe in and want to review and to share it with XDA community. Basically, one side is how to spend my hard earned money wisely, and the other side - I get free samples of products I think great and I want to review them in the best way.
The bottom line, this particular product or something like pricey VITREO is a matter of personal choice and something that's going to be not everyone's cup of tea. But I'm sure every company justifies their pricing in comparison to competition, and they will see how well the product is selling and will offer discounts to "adjust" it Cost of the material plays a role, but no matter how great the vendor thinks their product is - if its not selling they will have to adjust the price. Unless their name is "Mugen" and they so full of themselves thinking their $105 extended battery is better than a same one from Anker for $17

I have sweet armor on my note 2 and it does allow access for the OEM charging/USB cable without a problem.
I agree that it was pointless to post the opinion of the case being a rip off financially.

A question for the reviewer.
How does this case affect the GPS?
I've gotten 5 aluminum bumper cases that all affect fix lock and acquisition.
Thank you in advance

I'll test this on the way to work and get right back to you on this. There was a slight delay, but that seemed about normal. I was able to keep it until I got to work. That was just a 10 minute drive.

Yes that cord. The one that came in the box with the phone plugs into the phone just as easy with the Sweet Armor on just as easy as it does without the Sweet Armor.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium

How would this compare with a sweet armor?
Would you be able to do a side by side comparison/shootout between the two bumpers?
The thing about the sweet armor I like is, specifically, the side buttons.
I'm planning on getting an all black sweet armor, if they ever come back in stock that is, and a glass screen cover.
Is this one really worth the extra money, even considering the inability to remove the back cover?

I have not had my hands on any of these cases recently but I did get my hands on one for the nook several years ago. the case was solidly designed and with good quality leather.
They have several nice designs, but are a bit on the more expensive side.

Very nice, pricey (at least for me). Reminded me of Lord of Rings, Wizard-like.
Lol! Paying over 1/3 the price you paid for the actual device on a cover is just dumb to me.

Maybe but i thought they worth mention because i know a lot of "dumb" people that have bought these for their devices. The ipad ones are 123 bucks. But the quality of the covers is probably the tops of what i have ever seen.
I generally HATE leather cases but if they came out with a Necronomicon one a la Evil Dead/Army of Darkness I would be all over it.

But I bought one of these for my wifes nook back in the day and it is a sweet case. Definately worth the price, when you talk about quality equating to price.
They look so Diablo'ish! If Deckard Cain had a tablet.... This would be the case he would use!! Haha
Guess I am one of the dumb one. Would prefer buying quality 1 time as opposed to 5 cheap Chinese knockoff crap but more power to you.

Define "Quality" because aside from a single expensive slab of leather, there's NOTHING here. This case offers nearly ZERO protection against, well, anything. The damned tablet is literally held in with STRINGS FFS! Not good ones either, nooo. They are elastic bungee and will allow the thing to hit the ground under impact. Then they want you to bend it backwards and TIE IT THAT WAY and call this a stand? LOL. Now, sure the leather is nice looking. But to call this a "case" is probably illegal in several countries. Let's call it what it is. It's a fashion accessory. Nothing more. Now if a fashion accessory is worth more to you than protecting your device, then by all means spend 70 bucks on it. It's a free country. I want you to have whatever you want, and pay as much as you want to for it. But don't come in here talking down to everyone else that didn't buy this case like we are dumb and are gonna have to replace ours over and over while you, in your infinite wisdom, will not. This just makes you a douche bag, Our cases might be less expensive, but every one of those 5 "Chinese Knockoffs" (as you call them)will protect this device better and for longer than this ridiculous attempt at a case. Does that make you dumb for having bought one? Only if you labor under the delusion that because you paid so much for it, it's somehow a better quality case and will protect your tablet better. Because it won't. Not even close. It's just pretty. Pretty useless.

Definitely agree. Although these are very nice looking, for $70 I'll probably go with something else. The fact that they sell replacement bungee cords makes me question whether it will last.

The replacement cord I think is for the closing mechanism to the case. That would make sense I think.
I bought the case for my wife's nook based on the look, quality and yes protection of it. The nook is already covered with a skin from decalgirl.com and a screen protector, and using this cover does indeed offer some protection. No it's not a Seidio case, it's a case that is pretty much a wallet lol. But the protection I speak of is the protection of the screen from impact if something would happen to fall upon the screen.
But everyone has their opinion, which is fine, but why the hate. If you don't like it, move on. There are many other choices out there besides this if this doesn't float your boat.
Exactly. Never said there was anything wrong with buying it. Just saying that simply because it's 10x the price of all these others does not mean in any way that it's "Worth" 10x as much in protection or durability. So people acting like it is are only kidding themselves.
I was going to buy one instantly, then I saw that the tablet was held in by strings and elastic cords, and while its stunning on the outside, it looks cheap as **** when the cover opens. I wish they had a better looking system to secure the tablet, that's atrocious.

I've had a couple of their cases and trust, they're anything but cheap looking and feeling. I bought mine used from other forum members, so I paid half, but that's a QUALITY case. They don't charge those prices for nothing. They can charge that because it's a great case and there's a market for them. You won't pay it, fine. They are supposed to have an old world feel to them. The leather and wool on the inside is something.

If you watch the video on the Oberon website it shows that the tablet is held in quite securely in the case. Also they give you extra strings to close the latch so if you can go a year without having to replace it I'd consider that a non issue.
I'm interested in hearing any reviews for this case

I wouldn't care if it would be three times the cost of the device, I would definitely be buying that!
No I don't belive cost = quality (far from it actually). Didn't mean to start anything but I do think a lot of thought went into these. The video was very informative about the design choices (which is what it always comes down to).
As far as protection my opinion is that as long as the cover is closed the edges of the leather will absorb more than most without transferring the shock to the tablet. If it falls with the cover open there is a greater chance of it breaking (just like the rest)

[Review] TreeGloo Case for Nexus 7

EDIT: 9/20/12 Taken from the other Treegloo thread:
Just to report back. I think I was one of the few that had received their cases the first week of release. In any case, I have dropped my N7 twice. Once on the curb getting my 4 yr old out of my truck and yesterday in the garage from a 3-4 foot drop straight to the garage floor with the flat back hitting the ground
I picked it up, and nothing was damaged (thank the heavens!) and I just left it for my wife to use and I went to work. When I got home from work, I opened up the tablet and found that the tablet was not seating correctly on the case. I thought to myself, "crap something is wrong" so I took the N7 out of the case. What I found was that the back case had popped open when it hit the floor in the garage. I initially didn't catch it, but all I did was pop the case back into the bezel. (whew)
So I have to say it was a good day for the Treegloo case lol. I don't think it would have of survived a fall like that without certain issues if I was using a leather case. But that's just speculation .
EDIT 8/10/12: Update on my case. While talking with treegloo.com through G+, it was pointed out to me that I have a cloth lining not a paper lining, which is the default. The reason is because not many people order the green liner. I am weird like that lol. So kudos to treegloo once again for a FREEBIE!
Still loving the case. I can carry my N7 with the utmost confidence anywhere I go!
The issue well not issue, more of a FYI to treegloo, that I have an imprint of the inner lining on the lower left corner of the screen protector. This doesn't affect the tablet at all, just a FYI if someone does have a screen protector on and if you see something like this.

Ok here is my quick take of the Treegloo cases which you can make your own at https://www.treegloo.com/
As you can see the case is wrapped with care and with a quick personal thank you, which is nice because you really do not see this type of service. I chalk it up to being in Texas, but I guess I am bias because I am in TX (grew up in NY) and with all the 'southern' hospitality it didn't totally surprise me .
And before I go into some of the aspects of the case, I have to say they have been above and beyond the scope of service in terms of this case. I mean their bread and butter is most likely the ipad lines, but at this point they catered to many of our needs, which is awesome in my book, and they are in the US to boot. And in addition, I know of another member who chose the kinetic latch systems as well that received a Fedex'd replacement latch in case the one installed was the incorrect one. I replaced it on mine and kept the old one in case I needed another as a backup. :good:
Crack open the plastic packing and you can still smell the dyes and glue from the case
Ok before I stuck my precious N7 into the case, I took a look around and looked at the suede lining (which is an 'extra' option I paid for) that would protect this beast. I looked at the Kinetic Latch system (also extra) to see how it worked. It's a very novel idea. Having multiple angles on this thing. It's really well thought out!
Now putting in the N7 is very interesting. You have instructions enclosed to push in from top first and then follow up with the bottom of the device and push down firmly. After that I can confidently attest that this tablet will not be coming out easily. So I was curious, how hard is it to take out? Apparently not too difficult at all. It's like taking off a TPU case off a phone. No biggie.
All the buttons are easily accessible. People with bigger fingers may find it a bit difficult to access, but users may vary here. :silly:
Now looking at the bottom part of the device you see the cut out of the frame and the reason's are pretty self explanatory. The bottom port portion is quite large because of the speaker and of course the headphone port is carved out perfectly as well...well almost perfectly. The only headphones plug that did not work well was my Shure SE215. The reason is because the 3.5mm plug has a big head to that and any twist will disconnect the SE215's. But all the other headsets like the earphones from a Beats Rezound and also my Sol Republic Track HD headphones work here as well. Again users may vary on this one.
The smart cover works as advertised. No worry about that there. And folding the cover back does NOT affect the screen at all. I tried .
Any negatives? Kinda. Other than the stated access to the buttons if you have bigger fingers may drive you nuts. Also the case yet small and like a small paperback, does take away from the sexy thin Nexus 7 original nekkid form. Too bad there's no bikini case out there :silly:.
So do I recommend this case? A resounding yes! If you are looking for a case that will protect your precious N7 this will do it's job well. The wood is buttery smooth and the case holds the baby in nice and tight. The wood is smooth as butter and the materials used is perfect in my opinion.
And on an off note, I was asked recently if the case affected my wifi. And I have not noticed anything degradation in signal. All my pages and play store pull up as quick as without the case.
Anyway, here are the pics. Pretty much an unboxing photo journal lol. Questions?? Sure whatcha got?
This is not my pic, this is from treegloo. I didn't take a pic of this angle, so I figured I take it from the site. Reason? Because I forgot
What about the two mics? Are there holes cut out for them? If not, do they still work fine?
I have been debating on one of these for a while now. After reading about several bad experiences I thought I'd forego this type of case, but I can't find anything I really like. Maybe I will take a leap and try it out. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the review Jimmy. Can't wait to get mine. Ordered it on the 28th and still waiting for the shipping confirmation email.
My order:
Ebony frame, Manhattan Blue Cloth liner, and a Kinetic Latch closure

I highly suggest emailing them or post on their G+ page. My last email was quickly responded by Jen within the hour on a business day.:good:
And as for the 'bashing' thread. I posted there as well and posted my opinion on the guy. I don't think he responded. . I'll let that thread die. It was a complaint on his personal experience, where I do not fault him, but a newbie badmouthing a company just on his/her/it experience rubs me the wrong way. I mean there was no defending treegloo in his/her/its eyes.

Ah ok. Cool. For the "basic" cases like mine with a few add-ons, you should be fine. But if you had added ALL of that fun stuff, that's where they have to do some quality control stuff because that is indeed an "one-off", unique case :cyclops:.
The case looks really good. I ended up with a Portenzo case because it was a little cheaper and had more appealing colors but I really prefer teh TreeGloo's wood frame. I'm glad that you are happy with your case!

[REVIEW] Portenzo Bookcase

Hello everyone! I'm a relatively new Nexus 7 owner, having owned my baby for about a month now. I ordered a temporary sleeve for it until I concluded my research for a permanent case. I was looking for something aesthetically pleasing, but still offered 100% protection. I decided on the Portenzo Bookcase due to their premium materials, quality, customization options protection, and positive reviews. The customization was the second most important factor, next to protection, for me. You can choose from many different color options for the exterior, interior, and elastic strap. You can add engravements or logos or your choosing, and they have several additional closure options to choose from.
I ordered my Portenzo Bookcase on Sept. 27, it shipped Oct. 3, and i received it Oct. 5. After a few days of usage, i decided to write a review for anyone currently on the fence about Portenzo, or looking for a new case in general.
Website: http://shop.portenzo.com
COST:
Base Price: $39.95
The options i added were:
Magnet closure: $9.95
Intellistand: $9.95
Shipping: $9.95
= $69.80
AESTHETICS
I'm very pleased with the looks and handiwork of my Portenzo Bookcase. When closed, it resembles a Moleskin journal/notebook and the woodwork resembles pages. I've yet to see a Nexus 7 case that looks THIS good, IMO.
DURABILITY
I've only had it for less than a week, so i can't yet comment on the longterm effects. but, i can say, that it definitely looks like it can stand the test of time. I'm not one to jump from new device to new device, just for the sake of keeping up with technology. I owned my iphone 3g for 2 1/2 years before switching to my HTC Inspire, which i've had fo over a year and a half now. I dont plan on upgrading until it breaks either. With that said, i plan on keeping my Nexus as long as it keeps working so i do plan on having my Portenzo case for just as long. I feel confident that it'll hold up. The fit and finish on this case is remarkable...
FIT AND FINISH
Very, very professionally made. You can tell it was handmade down to the woodwork. It even smells like fresh maple wood. The corners are carefully tucked and fastened, the wood is very smooth and sanded down, the magnets work flawlessly, and there isn't a loose end to be found. I chose the Black Morocco Faux Leather finish on the outside cover, and am very pleased. It gives the case a classier look. While youc an tell it isn't actual leather, it still feels great to the touch...and looks really good too.
The Intellistand is impressive and works like a charm. You don't have to worry about it slipping and falling flat, it WORKS exactly as advertised. You also have a few options of how steep you want the angle to be. It slides and locks flawlessly. Very intuitive feature and i'm glad ipaid the extra 10$ for it.
PROTECTION:
The Nexus fits very snugly into the wooden cradle. There are also these rubber (silicone?) pads in all four corners in order to prevent scratching from the wood. I tried flipping it upside down and dislodging the nexus by force (over my bed of course lol) to no avail. It isn't going ANYWHERE. The edges of the nexus are fully protected, and if your case is closed, i've no doubt it'll be fully protected from all around in the case of a drop. if open when dropped, the corners are still very well protected due to the wooden cradle. The edges of the Nexus are completely surrounded and will not directly in contact with the ground if dropped.
Also, the elastic strap does a GREAT job of keeping the case closed tightly. I added the additonal magnetic closure as well, which i must say, i'm not completely happy with...
THE NEGATIVE:
The only negative thing, for me, is that the magnetic closure is nowhere near as strong as i'd hoped. Had i just gotten the magnetic closure without the strap, my case would flop open at the slightest force. I tested this, holding it upside down (w.o the strap) and semi-forcibly driving it downward...the case just opened. Good thing i got the magnetic closure in ADDITION to the elastic strap. I've read that Portenzo advises letting the case break in, and the magnetic closure will be stronger. It's only been 5 days since i received my Bookcase, so hopefully this is true.
CONCLUSION - Rating 4.8/5
This case should not be passed up if you're looking for a beautiful, fully protective case for your nexus 7. It may seem pricey, but once you receive it, you'll see first hand how premium the materials are and how well your HANDMADE case was fabricated. I feel more confident now that my nexus 7 has a snug home, and i love the comments i've gotten on my Portenzo Bookcase. The only downside is that the magnetic closure seems a bit weak, so i'd suggest getting the elastic strap.

Magnetic closure
Do you think it's even worth getting the magnets? Would you spend the $10 again?
I'm quite interested in this case and will certainly get the strap, but was thinking of both closures.
Also, do you have any more thoughts to share on the appearance, feel and quality of the simulated leather?
Well, I can't say for sure since my case isn't "broken in" yet. Portenzp's response to the weak magnet complaints was that they'd strengthen upon proper break in. But, as of right now? No, I would not spend the 10$ on the magnets again. I'm very thankful I got the strap as well.
Also, I chose the faux leather bc I was going for a black, classy look. Plus the buckeye looked too rough and scratchy. It doesn't feel like leather as it isn't soft, but it does give the case that "leathery" look. Especially under light.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for posting! How do the speakers sound? Do they sound muffled? I listen to a lot of music on my N7 and want to make sure the sound is not too muffled/low. Thanks! Also, how do magnets settle in? (serious question not meant as an attack) Never heard of magnets needing to settle.
I'm no help on the speakers because I always use my headphones when on YouTube and my iPod for music. :/
And I have NO idea how magnets settle in, but that was Portenzo's response. I think they may have meant that right now the case is still stiff and once it softens, the magnetism will be stronger. I'll give it a few more weeks and then update my opinion on the magnets. In the meantime, my elastic strap gets the job done.
***Edit*** I just did a little YouTubing without my headphones, and the sound chamber actually seems to work pretty nicely. I was lying down with my Nexus in portrait on my chest, and the sound was coming directly at me. It was very clear and crisp as well. They really did a good job with this thing.

Thanks for the response! That's good news! I'm definitely considering this case. I'm not sure if I should wait till Black Friday or even Christmas to purchase in hopes that there will be a sale or coupon... Ugh...!!!
You never know! Perhaps you could shoot them an email and see.
But the price IS a bit steep, especially once you start adding options, but I'm very satisfied with the case and feel it was money well spent.

Ive had my case about 2 weeks after they announced it. I purchased the composition model. I was with you at the very beginning. The magnets were no where near as strong as I thought they should be. Luckily I added the strap closure as well. After having the case for a couple of months now I will agree with what Lea (the customer service woman from portenzo who happens to be great and very helpful) the case needed some breaking in and the magnet closure most definitely works better. Just give it some time. Either way it is a great case
And I am always receiving compliments on it. Enjoy it.

Here are some photos of the composition book case. I have used the case for about two week and I do not have any problems with the magnets keeping the book closed.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
My thing is, the magnets do keep it closed, but open at the slightest force. I just wish they were stronger, like the magnets on the back for the intellistand. See how the wooden cradle just SNAPS onto the case backing? That's how secure I want the magnetic closure to be...
And I thought about getting the Composition case, but I liked the more low profile look of the bookcase. But now, after seeing some user photos of that Alano, I'm actually contemplating ordering one. Am I insane or what???? I'm a sucker for books, especially old ones, and to have my Nexus wrapped in premium, hand softened leather is appealing lol.
I think I'm losing my mind actually contemplating spending 120$ for a case...in addition to this one lol.
[Sent from my HTC Inspire. Pardon errors.]
I have one. It is a good case, but the options are not all they're cracked up to be, in my opinion.
I'll start by saying, mine is absolutely bottom end, no frills. That Is because I wanted to protect my tablet. Using the magnetic cover is silly to me. It isn't going to protect your tablet if you drop it. It will fling open, which brings me to my next point.
Twice, I've dropped my tablet, in this case, with the case open. And, twice, my tablet has fallen right out of the case when dropped. No problems have come to my tablet from this, but I wouldn't expect the tablet to come right out like that. That's a negative to me.
Also, shipping time is not as it appeared, at least not on their old website. They may have updated their "tracking" to actually reflect how long it really takes for you to receive it. Mine took about 10 business days MORE than they advertise. I'm impatient, so, that's a problem for me, but, if you are patient, maybe this is dealable for you.
I have said nothing about the intellistand, because, had I had the extra $15,I would've gotten that feature. Was on a tight budget though.
On to the good, it is a really cool looking case. And it does provide good protection, as long as you aren't super clumsy, like I am. And, I love when someone asks what book I'm reading, so I can say "Whatever book I want."
One more thing to say about the closure magnet. They offer three options at Portenzo for closure. Strap, magnet, magnet plus strap. Prices, respectively, are additional $0,$9.95,and$9.95. Strap absolutely keeps it closed, and no additional cost. Magnet is for looks, strap is for protection. Keep that in mind, and, while the corner system they use for holding the tablet in place do that well, if you drop it, they will not hold it, at least not in my case.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
^^ nice to see another point of view
I think you can send your case back and have them readd the intellistand. It was definitely worth the 9.95 IMO.
I feel confident my Nexus will be protected in the case of a fall, if closed. If open, well, eh...
But I feel this sturdy wooden cradle and rounded corners will protect from the more severe damage.

Of course!
But, if you get the same options I did which was adding the intellistand and magnet closure, it was RIGHT under 70$.
Though, at this point, my magnetic closure still seems weak so I may not recommend getting that. Which, makes it even 9.95$ less.
So, if you just added the Intellistand option (which is a MUST, IMO) and chose basic shipping, it would be right under 60$. Now, if you wanted engraving and stuff, you'd be looking at a bit more.
And think of it as a permanent home for your Nexie! (That's what I call mine lol) The 70$ price tag was a little painful, but once I got the case in the mail, that pretty much went away.
Good luck!!

FlyGrip a necessity?

I am surprised no one has posted about this as of yet.
QBKing77's youtube channel has a video review of this "contraption".
Currently there is a deal where you get a free TPU case (i think thats what it is called) with the purchase of a $30 FlyGrip.
He also mentions how you get a discount by using his name at the checkout.
I am almost convinced to get one, but would like your input on this.
Check out this video where he discusses the flygrip (somewhere in there).

I've been using it for about a week now, and haven't regretted that decision. It's definitely a must if you're using your N2 a lot with single hand. I'm still waiting for Aduro case to release their awesome kickstand case that they had for the GSIII:

I've been on the fence with this since i saw a video review of these a few weeks ago. I am horrible about ordering things online. I search the heck out of them and then never buy anything. I really like to see things in person.
I really like the idea though. Seems like it would really make the phone more comfortable for me. I have the flip cover and i usually have one finger between it and the back of my phone which gives me a pretty secure grip but after a few minutes my poor finger starts to feel smashed back there.
Maybe i should just break down and go for it. I could use the free case for testing the mod for using a tpu case with the flip cover.
So indecisive....

I got one. The guy is real easy to deal with. I had to swap mine from white to black since Tmobile had no white Note2s. He did it without issue. I carried my phone for a week w/o the clip and now about a week with the clip. I find its a nice bonus. I mostly use it when I'm relaxing and holding the phone at odd angles. Its great for that, very secure. In day to day use I don't really use it since my TPU case has really good grip already.
I had my phone for almost a week before I got my flygrip. In my opinion it makes the phone much easier to use one handed. I have maybe slightly above average hands and I can reach the whole screen easier with it. The stand feature is very nice too. I have mine on a body glove and feel extremely confident I have a very secure grip on my phone when using it. Weird angle gripping is much easier as well. I would recommend one for the GNII 100%
Regurgitated From My Giant Note II
What time curious about is how easy it is to transfer between cases or devices. I saw a video of somebody removing the FlyGrip and it looked to be some super adhesive material.
How resuable is it exactly?
Edit: Took a closer look and looks like you could grab a pack of 3 replacement adhesives. Was really excited for it despite the price since you could say it's justified with the TPU case throw in....but unfortunately the shipping code "QBKING77" is limited only to the States. Really disappointed since I'll have to pass just based on the shipping costs.

I had one on my Sensation, and am awaiting new adhesive, but I LOVE my Flygrip. Thing is simply amazing. I didn't think that I would get 30 bucks worth out of thin cheap plastic, but I've been sorely tempted to pickup a second one for my tablet. Also, they have pretty good customer support, I've called three times, and it's always the same guy that answers. I actually prefer this to the kickstand cases because of the one handed grip support. I can't text on my bike without it, especially with this phone. I'll upload a couple pictures as soon as I get my sticky backs

I just took mine off of my Sensation, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It took some forcing to actually begin to remove it, as it is really pretty damn strong, but once I got it separated from the old case it was simple enough to just rub the remaining residue away. It does leave a very clean rectangle on whatever case you put it on after removal lol.

So emailed FlyGrip with some questions. Response was very quick, not to mention a nice surprise with the great customer service!
" .... Additional tape provided”, are there extra adhesive tapes in each FlyGrip package? Or that we would have to buy the pack of 3 if we were interested in replacements?

Flygrip comes with (1) extra adhesive. So after you remove it, you can put the new adhesive on.* "Some" people try using the existing adhesive.* It depends on how sticky it still is.* We recommend to use a new one, but sometimes the adhesive is sticky enough to reuse.* We sell (3) packs for $2.47.

Also, a shot in the dark but I'm wondering if you do happen to have any promotions going on for international shipping (namely to Canada) as the FlyGrip was something I was immediately excited for, only to see the cost of shipping.

Love my FlyGrip. I enjoy knowing I'm not going to drop the phone, but I really purchased it because I'm an ex-EVO user and knew I'd miss the kickstand. I use it as a kickstand whenever the phone isn't in my pocket. Right now I'm using the free case that was included, but I'll take it off in a few weeks. I usually don't go for bold colors, but got the blue kickstand and a royal blue case. Nice looking.
He has lots of videos on the site to help with making a decision. Oh, no, it doesn't add bulk, it's only 1/4" deep. USA made and the packaging is very good looking, would make a great gift.
I think it's a smarter decision to look at these.
Amazon Wisefinger Options
Much cheaper, and they look more versatile.

[Opinions] Which case I should buy Spigen vs Ringke?

These are the only two reputable brands I could find. Others I found were just too expensive (imported). And let me just throw it out there, these still feel very expensive to me, but I'm only willing to pay cause they're reputable brands.

Especially the pics of the insides like the corner insides etc (I think more details can be captured with flash ON), whatever you could provide, pic of case applied on the phone etc. For me what matters the most is design (not talking about looks) especially the key features i.e. the lip to prevent the screen from touching any surface, the air cushioned type corners (inside) or anything else I'm missing. Though I do know that these probably already have that.
And any of your opinions and experience related to these products. Like in case of Ringke, as it has a transparent back, Has it got any scratches, too many scratches etc? Has it gone yellowish (the transparent part)? In case of Spigen, Does it have clicky buttons? Does it feel heavy? How grippy is it? Anything related to these two cases even something I didn't mentioned, pros cons, however you like it.
I'm not opposed to buy something better than these brand cases IF it's out there & not popular, but it has to be less expensive & you must've bought and used the product. You can still suggest me anything better even if you haven't used it, not my preferred way, but I'll still look into it.
I'm not looking to throw my phone, just to protect it from accidents. I also know how heavy it gets after applying these covers which increases the chances of drops of an already heavy phone, so the protection has to be the best. If you know of anything lightweight which can still protect similarly (that's why design matters the most) to these cases, you can LMK.
I just want to make sure I get the best thing if I'm paying this much money.
Not important (Just a customer's angry rant) : As Xiaomi already betrayed us by giving too high of a discounts on such a good phone. That's why they're still selling the same stock or IDK what is their plan with this line!!? I didn't returned or went to service centre to complain about the screen bleeding issue. Yes it's still there even after 1 year. So when I buy their phone for Rs. 23K ,8/256 model like 2-3 weeks ago & they give a flat Rs.4k discount on it, It's just straight up back stabbing. I think realistically, so I just knew that they were gonna waste my time at service centre & second it's not that big of a deal. That's why I didn't returned it or wasted my time on repair.
Me as a customer value their product more without any incentive purposes and they as a company doesn't value it. It's just pathetic.
Lol. So big post about cases.
I bought spigen. It looks exactly like in photos. Its elegant, fits perfectly. One thing bad about it is that's slippery in my hands. Kind of annoying but you can get used to it.
Rinkge looks more protective and massive. I wouldn't buy it, cause it makes look like some tank smartphone ( Samsung solid etc). So unless you drop your phone everyday obtain I'd buy spigen.
First of all wow, cause I wasn't even expecting a reply. Well something's better than nothing amirite.
I do all this work, put in all this effort into the post and what do I get in return, basically nothing. And IK what you're going to say that oh it's an old phone, bla bla JUST ZIP IT, alright I don't wanna hear it. Cause IK what the real reason is and that is, this site is dying slowly and daily. Yeah I don't wanna hear any of your crappy argument against it, cause IDGA*. It's the truth, either accept it or move on.
I can hear you lot saying that OUH! your post is big and other crap, again IDC. Cause I tried my best to make it look attractive, it's not my fault that a lazy person isn't ready to read paragraphs on a forum website. And not really a forum, cause most of their focus is on news these days, and excuse me what!!? Testing pc hardware https://www.xda-developers.com/amd-radeon-rx-5700-series-review , wasn't even difficult to find, was on the front page of news. Just shows how much they care.
It's been a long time since I joined this site, at least for me. My english has improved a lot and IK better ways to present the information and still I get less interaction than before when I didn't knew much or didn't knew how to convey my message, maybe that's the reason I went away in the first place. I've made another posts as well not related to this, tried my best to be understandable, still any responses, NO.
You know why I made this thread, to get some opinions, to clear my mind on which one to buy, but did I got that, no, I just had to go with my gut at the end, all that time and energy wasted. Like with any other posts or threads I've made, except some cause of a few helpful people. I was so tired that I forgot to put any tags, which I just noticed, that's a first for me.
And don't think that I'm dismissing the fact that there are no good people out there, there are but you better find them quick, otherwise the time it'll take for the help to reach you, you may have already forgotten about the problem. It's like a gold mine, you better find something or all the work goes into waste. And if you find a truly helpful person you can converse with them 24x7. And don't think every knowledgeable person here is helpful, cause they're not, especially the so called developers, very knowledgeable, but helpful, just forget about it, again not all of 'em. But as I said you better find them in a relevant time or the thread just get rolled into the dust of time.
The developers are just the best, claiming to own this website, that it only exists cause of them and they don't need users. Then why don't you go ahead and close this website for public, you're not doing us any good by providing a crappy service and delivering statements like this. The normal users aren't getting any help anyways, those who really wanna learn something new and make something out of it.
By making statements like these they're only driving the core of this website away, yeah I'll see how long you stay relevant this way. The only one who are benefiting off your ego and butthurtness are freeloaders. Well, look what you have done developers, congrats, you should be very proud.
For me, I guess I'd just have to look for an alternative. Life goes on, it doesn't wait for anybody especially for self absorbed people.
I have both. Spigen is the one I use daily. Ringke did not allow me to use in Brodit car holder. Spigen is a more elegant case ringke looks tacky, but has better corner protection. Both suck with regards to amount of lip on front face to protect screen from drops.
i'm using Nillkin Case for my poco f1. But from the above two you mentioned, i think Spigen case is better option.
Been using spigen since the first day. It lacks side grip, its very very slippery if u try to grab/hold it by fingers with phone lying on flat surface. I wonder how cud spigen not think abt side grip!!
So I wud say go with ringke.
All the best.
Using Ringke since May 2019. back transparent panel still clear as glass with some micro scratches which ain't even visible if not looking carefully. this panel kind of shines like glass and reflects considerable light of you're interested ?.
only con I've found is it makes the phone a bit heavier but for the sake of protection i can live with that much extra weight.
I would like to get of the grid and introduce one more reputed brand into the picture. It's called Kapaver they are well known for thier carbon fibre looking air cushions induced back covers. It costs well around 600rs. On average. And ill tell you as I used it on my previous note 5 pro. Which is a delicate phone, i dnt usually drop the mobile very often but when ever I did it did hit the ground at an Harder pace.
But seriously when i exchanged the old for new poco. I had no regrets of any scratches or dents all cause of Kapaver. So from an user perspective I'll give it a 5/5 for protection but yea it does causes the mobile to look a bit bulkier. But it does make it feel kinda premium. Il urge you to do have a look at it.
Ps. By observing my usage and cover. Many of my friends who used poco did get Kapaver case and they seem to be very happy with it.
Using ringke from the day poco was launched and the case was available. My phone is 1 year old. I prefer ringke cause it's transparent and I can show off skins on the back. It's heavy and you'll feel it for the first few days. If you feel naked poco is already heavy, get Spigen ( do note it's slips a lot). Both are good cases and you can't go wrong with any one of them.
I am planing to get ringke case. I want to know that I am using full screen mode in Poco F1. so how does it goes when we swipe edge for back or when we swipe up for home screen?
I mean does this case create problem or it work well with full screen mode?

These are the only two reputable brands I could find. Others I found were just too expensive (imported). And let me just throw it out there, these still feel very expensive to me, but I'm only willing to pay cause they're reputable brands.

Ringke.. I'm using it since day 1 of my Poco F1
I understand your angry customer rant. The discounts on poco are not logical lol. There were many discounts on diwali weekend in India . I snagged 6/64 for $190 / Rs 13,499

This maybe a little late butt here we go. The case is expensive but you wouldn't be disappointed. As far as the full screen mode goes I don't think you'd have any problems. In fact one of the reasons I bought it, as you may already know that poco's touch is quite sensitive (seeing a trend in newer phones, xiaomi phones at least) and no settings to decrease it, so to prevent the accidental touches, this a good one, especially when using 'double tap to wake'. At the moment I'm not playing many games on my phone, so IDK how well that would work, but looking at the design it should work pretty well as it makes the phone broader.
This cover is the best for those who want to show off their phones (the back, skin etc.), I mean I bought the armored version so it's not the best in my case, I knew I should've went with the red one. But when it comes to showing off, no cover comes even close, in fact no one's even competing with fusionX. I mean I couldn't find anything even remotely close to it, if someone else know such brand LMK. If you wanna show off your cover, this is not one of them, then you should look somewhere else, unless someone takes a direct look at it when you're taking a phone call or something.
Design wise their goal is simplicity, and they nailed it. Cause it may look awesome in the pictures online but when you put it on your phone, it becomes a part of it. Also they said that the packaging used was recycled so I guess I helped the environment in some way.
The in hand feel is great, you feel all the curves and edges. They go with the same design, I mean if ain't broke don't fix it, amirite? The rubber used around has different finishes like glossy, matte, textured, roughed etc.
Any flaw if you ask me is the front lip to protect screen from touching surfaces. I haven't measured it but I bet it's either 0.75mm or 1mm. As my phone has a tempered glass on it, so one can tell that lip is not that large. I'm not an expert in this like how much is good, but I have a generic rugged cover for my other device and comparing, you can clearly see the difference. Also there was one mistake when it comes to precise cuts. The cut for the secondary mic was quite off, not too off that it's not usable anymore but quite off that you feel a bit mad that, is this seriously a brand product? There could be reasons behind this, design etc. But we can't really accept such mistake, when it comes to a premium product. In this case, for a brand like this, the technique should be flawless when making cuts for the devices. They didn't nailed this one for me, I was disappointed TBH, cause as I said there's no room for - if, but etc. when it comes to something like this.
I was planning to buy these during diwali sale. The ringke one was available for Rs.770 and the spigen one was available for Rs.499. At the time I hadn't decided which one to buy, so I ordered both of them and thought I'd just cancel the other one. But both of the cases were coming from the same place so they packaged both of them together. Just a tip for the future if you're buying from amazon india or apparently from any indian website, cause I doubt there are many distributors for this.
So I had to cancel the order and make another one for just ringke. I didn't went for spigen cause more I read the reviews, the more I came to knew that it just wasn't worth the price. I mean it's just a rubber case, you can get those anywhere in the market and paying that much extra just for the brand didn't made any sense to me even if it would be of "better materials & quality", 499 was still too much for a rubber case with nothing special about it's design and protection.
When it comes to weight, like any other cover it's gonna add some to it, that is inevitable. But when it comes to rugged/hybrid cases, it's quite light, I'm not gonna lie. Cause I have used some generic rugged cases in the past and in comparison this is light. Like the case I have on my other phone, as may know that they're divided into two parts rubber and plastic i.e. hybrid, And I only have the rubber part on me & it still feels heavy compared to ringke. So I guess they nailed in that department as well.
If you're worried about the materials, the whole case is flexible. Both rubber part on the sides and transparent part in the middle. But don't try to separate them cause unlike the normal hybrid cases they're glued together and rightfully so. The way it's designed, they couldn't have made the transparent part detachable. Though if it was detachable, you could've been able to use just the rubber part on the behalf of it looking a bit weird. But if you don't have the money to buy this one, just buy any cheap one after looking at some real pictures posted by users and maybe reading some useful reviews, I think you'd be fine. But if you're going to spend money then better go for the brand and don't look any where else than a Ringke.
The transparent material is a high grade plastic, why? Cause you can't scratch glass with blade, which you can do on this one. But if you're worried about everyday scratches (mostly cause by dust particles, NOT dirt), you won't see any of those here as I said high grade plastic. But don't put this on rough surfaces, cause mostly stones, tiles etc. are harder than plastic. Also you wouldn't have to worry about it breaking as it's not glass.
I don't buy covers so I can keep dropping my phone. Dropping any of your device especially a device you're gonna use day & night, everyday, is just idiotic, people need to get that in their head. The best security for your phone is your hand. I mean just look at it this way, the laptop & pc u use, would you be willing to throw them around? How long would they last like that? I mean it's good to know the durability of something but that doesn't mean you should keep dropping it everywhere if you wanna use it for a long time.
I guess this turned into a review than just a suggestion Hope it was helpful to someone.

Go with ringkee
@a7cATR4z Oh!!!!!! you put a skin and case, I thought it was a case design, nvm.
I have used the spigen rugged armour case before. Ended up it so loose terribly after 5 months using it. And also, there was a logo stain on my Poco f1 back which caused by the case. Now that I changed it to Ringke, shall see what will happen after few months.
