I read somewhere on android forums that a few people took the heros,traded them for 100$ or so to Best Buy and were allowed to purchase the Evo for the 200$ Price. now my contract isn't up until January,so does this work? sorry if this is in the wrong section or shouldn't be posted at all in advance....

If you purchased your phone from best buy you can "sell it" back to best buy.

Best Buy does have the trade in program and depending on the condition of the device will determine the amount you get. If you are not eligable till January then can still purchase the evo outright without contract for 599.99 and use the balance for your trade in toward your purchase.

I think Best Buy will also price match. Find out and have them match sprints off contract price if you can't upgrade with rebates.

Please be advised that in order for Best Buy to "price match" a competitor you must provide "proof of price" and they will only match that of a "brick and mortar" location. Has to be a physical store location as they dont price match online only pricing. I work for Best Buy.

FYI, the Sprint Hero in GOOD Condition (Best Condition) is only going for 65.00. Is it really worth it?

Also, for a store to sell you an EVO at 199.99 and not receive the kickback for a new activation or upgrade is crazy! If it has happened, I have to think it's an isolated incident.
We have the Hero200. I just used their estimator and it says no trade-in value.
BestBuy told me they wouldn't price match on the Evo. If you're buying it, you're paying the $599. If you're lucky enough to have a Radio Shack around, they'll sell you one for $499. If you're lucky enough to find a Sprint store with one, they'll only charge you $449, but the ones around here have waiting lists a month or more long.

Personally, I'm looking to use a partial upgrade as I am 13 months into a 2 year contract. I have seen people get amazing deals using various methods. I'm hoping to get it for around $250.
I'm looking to possibly purchase for full price and use on AT&T, so please include any deals on full retail prices.

I read somewhere that LG has no plans to lockdown bootloaders unlike HTC with the Sensation and other new phones.

i get mine for FREE!
had problems with them throttling my data (3 months long) and the fact that EVERY refurbished VIBRANT they sent me was broke in some way(dents/cracks/buttoms)
so i got the SGS4G yesturday! and now just confirmed my oder for the G2x after i sent my SGS4G via UPS back to them!

yea it is... but there are no forums yet for the G2x.....
I ordered a 16gb nexus 7 on the Play Store a couple of weeks ago. Then found them for sale in currys last week, so bought one. It is an awesome and extremely addictive device!
I cancelled the Play Store order but they still shipped it!
So now I have a spare sealed one. If anybody wants it at cost price plus postage, then drop me a private message.

You are covered under distance selling regulations, you do not have to pay restocking fee, it should say not applicable to EU and Australia, not sure about delivery, check t and c
Easiest way is to refuse delivery, that is what Google recommends

Yes, distance selling regulations give you too weeks to return no questions asked as long as the box is unopened. You may have to swallow the shipping charge but its better than selling it.
to clarify DSR
You have 7 working days from contract (receipt of.goods) to notify cancellation in form of durable medium, eg email not phone call.
You then have to return goods within a reasonable time period.
You do not have to pay cost for returning items if it is not explicitly written in contact.
You do not have to pay any other fee such as admin or restocking fee.
This is only DSR, returning because you didn't like it when opened doesn't count, in this case follows company returns policy.

Sorry i meant best buy. I normally buy my phones from best buy off contract because they give us the highest value for our phones. Currently the GS3 is worth 360$ plus 50 gift card sign up promotion they normally do in January plus an additional 50$ gift card for their trade in if you have their protection for a total of 460$ last i have them price match sprint which is 550$ meaning i only have to pay 90$ plus tax. anyone go this route? or simply upgrading?
My local best buy said 230 for s3 in new condition and 699.99 for the HTC and they will not price match for contract phones even tho I'm paying retail. How did you pull that deal?

Wait... what? If you're paying unsubsidized price for a phone, that's not considered a contract phone. You should show them their own policy.

I don't think ANY phones via trade-in will surpass the amount that you can get for them selling them individually. Best Buy provides that as a service to customers -- not so people can make money off trading phones in. I would strongly suggest just selling the S3 and buying the phone from Best Buy with the money that you obtain from the sale.
I called a few and they all say they will not price match phones at all. My problem is none of my sprint stores or the main sprint tele sales store will even sell me one unless I add a new line. I've gone to 3 stores in person and they all said it will be a month or so before they will sell the phone at retail price.

You might try asking after the 19th as well, as I know I was told they can't price match during pre-order. But once it's released for sure, they might be able to.
Are you opposed to buying the phone online?

Its 340 not 360 my apologies. Heres a screen shot of the worth of the sprint gs3. But I have doing this since the 1st evo and have never had issues and is always able to get the latest and greatest. Plus my 2 my 50$ gift cards. 1 from a promotion they do in January. The second from having their protection plan and upgrading.

Thats not true. best buy is hurting because now they even price match amazon.com which they NEVER used to do. I dont know who you guys spoke to but its not true. i have receipts to show the last 2 years. i have had the EVO 4G, EVO 3D, Epic 4G touch black and white. EVO LTE, GS3 IN WHITE, THEN OPTIMUS G, GALAXY NOTE 2 THEN BACK TO THE GS3 IN PEBBLE BLUE. So trust me when i say its true. Call a store in atlanta and they will tell you the same. Im actually considering just using my upgrade and getting the additional 200$ on a gift card.

I'm not 100% sure but I remeber reading on the best buy price match policy that since they are now price matching online retailers one of the exclusions was mobile phones. Not sure if this was only for contract phones or all in general.

i would not suggest that as buying it out that early is quite expensive. if your within 2 months of your upgrade i believe its only 50$ and they add it to your bill no up front cost.

I'm not sure about price matching amazon's mobile phone but i know they will do sprints. what they will do is go on sprints website check the retail price and take it from there

I linked BB's price match policy above. It excludes contract mobile phones.

now that i didnt know i used to have the white till i traded it for the optimus G. i think its because the blue is less common than the white. im the only one i know that has the blue. i know at least 15 people with gs3s maybe more and all of them have the white.
Yeah, I checked all the carriers s3's and they are all around 220-260. Only the Blue sprint model is that high

Between a new phone and listening to everything going on in Boston on the scanner, I do not believe that I will be getting any sleep. Going to be thankful for coffee.
So I've just received a email saying my order was canceled because it was listed at the wrong price.
You can still get the 25% off price by calling your local best buy and order over the phone, ask them to match t-mobiles' price.
I just ordered and picked my galaxy gear for $280.73 with a 2 year geeksquad warranty.

i checked for a best buy near me who had the galaxy gear in stock an ordered from them.
i called the best buy in newnan georgia.
i asked what i needed to give her in order to do the price match, she told me to bring a copy of my order checkout from t-mobile.
they rep i spoke to said they do price matches from major carriers; and i asked if they matched t-mobile.com price, which she did.
see me other attachment for my best buy receipt.

I had Best Buy price match last week. I have Verizon so i couldnt use it until yesterday anyways. I tossed it on eBay for 400 bucks for giggles. And sure enough it sold within a day. So I just had Best Buy price match a second one yesterday Made the 2nd one nearly free when factoring in the profit. :good:

My best buy still honored tmoble price match. Just got watch about an hour ago. Talked to manager straight off the bat and asked if they had watch. When he said yes I asked for price match and handed him tmoble price I printed off a few days ago. He said he's not suppose to but doesn't really care and he gave me the price. Got it for 209 plus tax.

The foursquare app gives you 30% accessories when you check in at certain tmobile stores. The Gear qualifies as an accessory. Try that if no luck at BB.
