SIM Unlock question - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm sorry if this has been answered before, but I've searched for the answer and all I can come up with is websites offering the service for a fee.
I'm expecting my new Xperia Z this week and was just wondering if it's possible to remove the simlock from the Xperia Z free or am I restricted to the pay services?
I know there was a way to unlock the Galaxy S3 through a secret menu and wondered if anyone had any information on a similar menu on the XZ?
If so, can anyone point me in the direction of tutorial?
Thanks in advance!

Buying the phone, not on plan...help

Hi, I am currently on Tmobile (UK) MyFaves plan, with unlimited web 'n' walk. If I purchase the phone off ebay and use it, it should be fine, right?
Please confirm or tell me otherwise.
Thanks and Merry Xmas

Patience padawan, someone will when they have something useful to post. Shameless bumping will only serve to get your thread locked or yourself ridiculed.

Unfortunately, I needed the information quickly which is why I bumped, but I FINALLY got help at another forum
Perhaps you would have gotten a quicker answer had you posted your question in a T-Mobile forum and not a Phone Hardware forum...
There is no TMobile UK Forum, and as I am from the UK, US help would be useless
Customer service is just a call away and a MUCH better resource than a hardware forum.
Regardless though, don't get pissy when a hardware forum doesn't answer a customer service question.

reset unlock counter for sony T

I have a vodafone factory locked sony xperia T, bought an unlock code for the device then i descover that 0 tries left. whenever i enter the unlock code it says "wrong code"
by the way i bought all levels codes but 0 tries left for all.
help plz
I thought Vodafone didn't lock their devices, it may already be SIM unlocked. All my Vodafone devices are always SIM free
Sent from my LT30p using xda premium
if vodafone locked the device, it might be possible that they changed the unlock code.
also when going to service info->sim lock, if you device is sim unlocked all the values are 0, so maybe your device is already unlocked

Look folks,
I strongly suspect this is a con.
XDA is about freely sharing ideas and developing, putting a random post saying "I can help you, please get in touch" leads me to believe he is expecting money for his services (Which is OK) but in this case I suspect he cannot do what he claims, otherwise there will be more evidence...
yes, exactly, this is a place where I can share all my knowlagde from my expirience, but here are 99% of members are smarter than me & they still can not find Sony counter block solution, everyone is looking for free solution, if you are smart enough, why not to post here free solution? ohh, I forgot one thing, because nobody have this free solution & will not have next 1 year at least.
if I claim got solution, that means I can do that for 100% no matter it's paid or free sloution, I don't throw words in air like someone else
you can search & search, if you cn not find, your last hope is paid service, then contact me.

[Q] Z1S... sigh

Why is it so hard to get a clear cut forum for the Z1S users? I have been digging around for hours trying to find mods / hacks that will work with my device - they are few and far between but still a pain in the ass to find anything on it...
bump
Wow, the xda form has turned to ****
Maybe because there's nothing for this phone. I have the Z1s as well. Not a lot of development since the bootloader is locked.

I have posted a guide for how to Downgrade, Root, & install DualRecovery for the Z1s (C6916). But seeing as how the bootloader is locked due to T-Mobile telling Sony that they refuse...well...
If interested, find my guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/help/guide-downgrade-root-dualrecovery-c6916-t3062919. Other then that the only things left would be, well...debloat/upgrade to latest firmware/Deodex.

If you're searching on Google, I find it's more helpful to search it as Sony c6916 rather than putting xperia z1s... all the other xperia phones pop up and you don't get anywhere, lol.
What were you wanting to look up in particular?
Just looking for things to do with the phone. Anyway I got ticked off yesterday and I decided to get the Note 4 and ditch the xperia, loving the note so far. If an admin reads this thread, you can close it.

Hi everyone,
I agree that it shouldn't be so difficult to get a Z1s forum going on here. The Z1 and Z1s are NOT the same phone, though similar.
2 questions I have if one of you guys don't mind dropping me a line are 1) Did the Z1s ever get VoLTE and 2) Did the Z1s ever get Smart Call Handling? A T-Mobile Store employee told me it did get SCH, but I'd just like to confirm it with whoever on here as well. 3) Oh yeah, and what about Double Tap To Wake??
Thank You,
RockStar2005

Any way of Sim Unlocking Tab S2 (t715 specifically)?

Found and tried this, but alas no - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=843323
O2 in the UK won't unlock it unless it was bought from them directly (it wasn't )
Unlocking websites don't seem to have the Tab S2 as an option to unlock and nor does the GalaxSim Unlock app.
Anyone got any ideas?
Programmer Z3X Box will help you.
Dont much fancy paying >£100 for the privelidge tho. Thanks. Would rather just sell tab and buy one unlocked.
You asked for a solution. I told you a possible solution. Pay the money or not, you have to decide.
Did you try 'regional unlock"? Search for it on XDA.
i'll put your rudeness down to english probably not being your first language.
thanks anyway.

Is there any working method (free or paid) for unlocking the bootloader of P20 Pro?

Hi everyone!
I am wondering if there is still a way for unlocking the bootloader of P20 Pro.
Basically, as you might already know, Huawei has removed the "bootloader unlock" page from its website. The paid service (DU-Unlocker) also does not have the device listed in its supported models.
Is there any working method now in 2019 whether it is free or paid or as a service that can unlock the bootloader of this device?
Your help will be greatly appreciated.
I used this guy on eBay:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/fonzdirect
It took him a few days to do it, but it worked great!
Cheers
Steve
Funny how you know huawei stopped unlocking bootloaders and then dont find tyhe awnsers posted in the forum about other places that can unlock it for you for 15-25 bucks

Hello, pardon me for inquiring further if you truly meant bootloader unlock code for p20 pro from "fonzdirect" on ebay, the seller you mentioned, as he does not provide bootloader unlock codes. His service only unlocks the SIM card to be used on other mobile phone carriers outside of U.K. "02 network", Vodafone, and perhaps others. I did not find his store to provide the service in which this thread is referencing. For the sake of accuracy, might you be conflating the two?
I have paid MinistryofSolutions the 30Euros on Christmas Day for the p20 pro bootloader unlock; however, that was the week his unlock services went down. I was refunded my money that same afternoon and have noticed the website reflect his no longer being able to provide the codes. I cannot justify paying a cent more for FunkyHawaii for what I will use it for. I simply want VoLTE and VoWiFI to be enabled on AT&T through property flags. Cheers.

Anyone tried HalabTech?
I've never dealt with them before and I don't want to risk paying to mess up my phone.
I'm not allowed to post links but googling "halabtech p20 pro bootloader" should get you there if you feel rich and brave.
