please post in the correct section.
Please read the thread on soft brick in the general section
Then read the all in one thread in the questiona nd answer section
(Both of them are sticky threads)
Then please provide us with more information than "My phone does not boot" so we can help you
ROM?
Root status?
Bootloader status?
Kernel?
What mods have you flashed?
What did you do just before this happened?

how long did you hold the buttons? do it for at least 1 minute. Did it vibrate at all?
If not then you need to plug it into the wall charger and leave it alone for 24 hours.
If it still does not turn on take it back to the shop, if you have not flahsed it or done any damage to it they should exxhange it

Having no ROM installed (i.e. via Task29) does not mean the vol key method won't work. It should work - remove battery, replace battery, hold power and vol key together for a few seconds. The only reason it wouldn't is if there was something physically wrong with the key.

What do you get when you just turn on your phone? You can always turn on your phone, if you have a ROM flashed it will boot the ROM. If not or not properly flashed then it will take you to the bootloader....

lol.. your barking at the wrong tree man.. read & understand
don't know if this is related but i thought i'd post it still.
i had an issue with task29 once i tried it.
usually, i flash roms using activesync since i'm kinda lazy putting back and fort the x1 cover, battery and all that.
after flashing task29, my x1 went dead. what i did, i removed the sd card,
plugged it to my pc and put the kovsimg file of the rom i like best,
plugged back in the sd card with the kovsimg file and re-flash via sd card method (using soft keys & volume button).
viola! it worked! but then again, i guess that's the way it's suppose to be done anyways.

Ever did a bad flash???? Try it....flash from your pc and pull the USB cable. If you reset your phone where does it take you? Certainly not to boot the ROM, because the flash went wrong.
Well.....
As the OP doesn't tell us specific details about why or how his X1 has no ROM, I'm trying to get some more info on his problem.
So keep your rude words in your mouth before you speak...!
Since when does trying to help someone wastes your time???! Dude you really need to utter your frustrations somewhere else.

Hello! I had this problem a minute ago. Try this:
1 -Turn on the phone. The screen will freeze in Sony Ericsson logo.
2 - After this, hold the two silver front buttons and press the softreset button behind the battery cover (to do a Hard Reset).
3 - Follow the instructions to perform the Hard Reset.
4 - When finished, remove the battery. Wait for 3 seconds and put the battery back.
5 - Now try to hold Vol Down key and turn the phone on.
It worked for me. But OMG, this thing scared me...

Press the power button and volume up for 10 -15 seconds.
it will vibrate once, that is like a restart
If you continue to hold for another 10 seconds it will vibrate 3 times. That is like pulling the battery.
Try turning it on after that

Have you flashed anything to the phone?
Have you rooted it?
Have you unlocked the bootloader?
If you dont know what these mean then you will not have done them.
Please plug the phone into the wall charger and leave it for a few hours then try the power and volume up button again. It is essential you leave the phone alone in this time.
Last question, when you press the power button and the phone is on charge does the red LED come on?

OK, try what I suggested. There may be other things that can be tried but if my phone behaved like that straight out of the box when I had not tampered with it I would take it back to the shop and demand a new one. Even we were to "fix" it via doing something on this site I would always be slightly worried I had a defective device.
Is it possible for you to return it?

What kind of shop is that? What country are you from? Thats terrible customer services!
Oh well, dont worry.
Have you installed PCCompanion on your PC? If not google it, download and install it. Also, look in the first thread in the development section for a thread called flashtool. Follow the links in that and download and install flashtool. We will need them if we are to save your phone. Also, they are good to have for pimping your phone later...

OK, you will have to wait now while the program downloads the software for your phone.
Once done it will prompt you again.
I may be offline when it has finished, but either tell me what it says next or tell me it worked and then smash my thanks button
If it doesnt work i will give you some more things we can try in the morning (I am inthe UK)

Last thing to try tonight
Download flashtool
Goto the installation folder and then into the driver folder.
Run flashtool drivers
Choose nx for ICS
tx driver
flashmode driver
fastboot driver
Then try again with pccomapnion.
If that does not work, download a stock FTF file from post 3 in the first thread of the Q&A section.Choose any file for the xperia t.
Open flashtool
Once downloaded, drag and drop the ftf file into the open window of flashtool.
When prompted attach the phone in flashmode (press volume down when attaching the usb cable)
Thats me for thenight now.
Let me know how it goes, but I wont be back untill the morning
[ STRIKE]Just to add one thing, before you try connecting it in flash mode, do power plus volume up till you get 3 vibrates. That way you know for sure your phone is off. If your phone isn't off it won't enter flashmode[/STRIKE]

Hey mate, don't worry just a soft brick.
What u need to do is press volume+ and power button at same time for 5 seconds or something to restart your device nd then connect your device in flashmode by pressing volume down nd connect it to the pc, try to connect it very fast before the device boots up nd final step: flash a older ftf
enjoy

Make sure your Xperia SP is Switched off. If pushing back button doesn't help then keep the back yellow button pressed for sometime and along with that keep pressing volume down button and you will boot into CWM Recovery
After that either reboot or shut down the phone and just simply reflash it.
Hope I helped

The yellow button part has already been mentioned...
Furthermore, who says he/her has recovery installed? He/her didn't so your suggestion is rather worthless at this time.
I notice you're trying to help allot of people lately, but try doing so by giving correct instructions rather than telling people what you would do to your own phone in similar situations.
First question should be if he/her has installed any custom ROM or kernel.
If he/her unlocked her bootloader or not and if a recovery is already installed.
The answer to the above questions will decide on how to approach this problem.
If you see properly you can see that he has already been advised to flash 4.1 stock kernel THAT MEANS HE HAS UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER, and if someone has unlocked Bootloader he would definitely have roott access and recovery installed (common assumption)

If you see properly you can see that he has already been advised to flash 4.1 stock kernel THAT MEANS HE HAS UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER, and if someone has unlocked Bootloader he would definitely have roott access and recovery installed (common assumption)

He has been advised to flash a kernel, but did he do it? You can't know for sure, Mr. CAPITAL!

What have you tried after that?
The battery was ending?
Tried to plug the charger something happens?
....
A fix...
Have you tried holding the power button?
hold it for a minute or two to see if starts...
Nothing. Try again with the charger plugged.
hold the power button forces the phone to reset. Just like in windows when it is stuck. Maybe your phone is just stuck.
Good luck.

I am not a moderator or someone that is from xda developers, but sounds like you need a newer version of ClockWorkMod (or an other custom recovery for your model)
Older versions of cmw may not support android 5.0
