[Q] Cannot get MMS working on AT&T. - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I attempted to use the information from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437805
This is useful to get internet working, however no combination of APN settings has allowed MMS to work for me. If anyone is using the Z on AT&T's network and has working MMS, please tell me how you got it to work.

How to get MMS to work on Tmobile USA

I've read many other posts about this and have tried many things but i still can't get MMS to work on my tilt on the Tmobile network. Does anyone have an AT&T Tilt with working MMS that they are using on Tmobile. Could you tell me what all your connection settings are. Thanks.
Go to Tmobile web site, there is instruction how to set it up
Seriously there was a thread about this just a couple of days ago.
geez

I've already looked at this thread. The tmobile data reconfigurer doesn't work. Can someone who has working mms just copy down all their connection settings. Thanks
I've seen that thread and i've tried the tmobile data configurer, nothing works. Can someone with working mms just copy down all there connection settings. Thanks
I just use this cab which I made myself, and it works fine! Hope this helps..
nope, that didn't work. I've got it to receive the message but when its downloading the picture it never goes about 0% and eventually it says gateway timeout.
what rom r u running? I'm thinking maybe you have some AT&T medianet settings creating issues.
Do you have data on your plan?

MMS apn settings

Ok so I had to do a factory reset on my nexus for an unrelated reason. I am on the web2go data plan and I had my apn settings for data and another for mms. Everything was working fine until I did the reset. I entered the same settings and now I cant send or receive any mms's. Here are my settings for my mms:
Name: T-Mobile US-MMS
APN: epc.tmobile.com
APN type: mms
Everything else is set to default. This kinda sucks because some long text messages that I send or receive are converted to mms. So any help on how to get my mms back. I would feel cheated having a superphone with no mms *cough iphone <3.0 cough*
I had a stock Nexus One ROM and then flashed the Desire one... since I've flashed my MMS has not been working either... and I definitely have the correct APN settings, I've tripple checked it!
Problem solved. I forgot to put default as apn type for data access.
Above do you have the same settings above as mine? Also did you try reboot? Was mms fine before you flashed rom?
My settings are different as I'm using Vodafone NZ but I've looked up the information and I'm 100% sure I've got it correct... Are you saying your MMS didn't work until you changed the APN type for your data APN to default??
And yeah I was able to PXT and 3G when I first got my Nexus One, after I flashed the Desire ROM I lost 3G and PXT... When I set the correct APN I managed to get 3G working but still no MMS
I am having the same issues on tmobile us. I can not get the pictures to download. Before I had some settings wrong, after fixing them I do not get the error anymore, but I do not get to download the message. Anyone have any ideas or solutions yet??? I am using Modaco Aplha 19

What about sending MMS? If I try to send an MMS it just sits there loading forever and never sends (This is using handcent) and when I try to download an image it just says downloading forever... :/
I'm relieved to hear someone else has a similar issue on Alpha 19.. Means its more likely to be a software issue and not something to do with my provider !
guys - you'll probably get more help if you search/post your issue in the MoDaCo Alpha 19 thread vs. starting a new one. this - unfortunately - is a common issue with this version of the ROM. it seems to be an inconsistent issue as well; sometimes i can send/receive without a problem other times i can't.
Vodafone, Nexus One and SMS/MMS (PXT)

Given the problems experienced by Vodafone users with HTC mobiles, I have posted my solution to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901491

Have you tried the HTC connection setup app on the marketplace?
that won't help as it uses the settings sent out from the network, giffgaff you have to manually set them and as per the Anyone managed to send an MMS yet thread there are no manual setting entry points
hey,
just got it all working, used HTC Connection setup again, making sure i selected giffgaff and all works, i have sent and received mms with no probs!! didnt even have to reset the phone!
Did you unlock your phone, or is it still locked to O2 using giffgaff? I only ask as I'm on giffgaff, and while the connection setup tool has internet data working fine, I can't send or receive mms, just says "cannot send, try again?" whenever I try.
I've been able to get it now receiving MMS it would appear, but still says can't send message whenever I try to send one. Just thought, do you need credit (other than a goodybag) in your account to send it - would it say cannot send if there was no credit and so the network refused?
Right ignore me (I think I'm gabbling to myself anyway!) it was because I had a goodybag but no actual credit, and since MMS are not included in goodybags, it wouldn't send. Just topped up some credit and went through no problem

[Q] MMS not working with Bell JK3

I used the same APN settings before the upgrade but it just won't work. It won't even try to connect to the APN because the data icon won't show up after trying to send an MMS.
No problems on the internet though.

[Q] Switched to T-Mobile, No MMS over Wifi

Hello,
Normally I can find everything I've ever needed by searching here, but I was not able to find a solution to this one.
I just switched to T-Mobile from AT&T, and brought over my SM-G900A.
When I put the SIM in at first, I got voice and SMS, but no data. I looked up APN settings, and created a fast.t-mobile.com APN using the recommended settings, except for APN protocol. Data now works, but still no MMS unless I disconnect from WiFI
MMSC is set to http : //mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc (no spaces)
APN Protocol is set to IPv4 (This is greyed out and cannot be changed to IPv6)
However, MMS only works when connected to data only, not WiFi. I cannot seem to find a way to make this work when connected to WiFi, which I would like to be able to do. Any ideas?
My thought is this might be related to WiFi calling being a native feature on T-Mo devices but not on AT&T. Thoughts?
Thanks guys!

My thinking is , is thats an internal thing with att software in the s5. Just because u switched to tmobile wont chang the software on the phone to tmobile even ur software updates to the phone will come from att not tmobile. I always have to have data on to send mms. I could be wrong but i think thats whats going on

You can achieve WiFi calling and Texting which will send MMS over WiFi by installing the alliance ROM. You first have to be on KitKat 4.4.4. After thay flash the ND3 kernal and install root via towel root, next install safstrap and flash alliance ROM and bam you should have WiFi calling and texting enabled. I am currently on the at&t s5 using T-Mobile.
I may have the links on my laptop if you need them. Just let me know.
