Hi.
Latest Naa kernel on my X8. Latest Nightly(0416). Did flashed the proper way - first factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik then flash latest nightly.
BUT in the latest 2 nightlies (0416 and 0328) my screen jumps randomly and the edge of the screen is sometimes at 2/3-rd of the hardware-screen... and the other part peaks in on the other side, but the touchzones are in place.
I have a singletouch device.
Any ideas or fixes?
I am not sure how to help but maybe you can try to change the theme
just a suggestion....besides that don't know how to help

I faced this (and still)
To stop this you can lock & unlock the lockscreen(sometimes work) if dont work restart device ...
To prevent :
1-Do you use overclocking?
-if yes ,uncheck "undervolt" & "set on boot" before overclocking....
2-reflash kernel (I done before & worked :thumbup
3-(last chance) do a system wipe & reflash ROM
#i don't not how this exactly happens, these are personal experience & may work or not.

To all above:
This bug exists in every custom kernel. It is well known. It manifests itself most @ 691 Mhz so don't pick that.
Alfs9c-no-fps-cap shows this bug more than any other kernel but they all have it.
No point reflashing or changing themes - that is futile.
Either change rom & kernel to completely different base or adjust your cpu settings until it goes away.

so I'm on the latest CM nightly with setcpu 2.0.1 set to 1113ghz with min at 998mhz.
I noticed after every reboot and sometimes without a reboot setcpu reverts back to default (998 max 245 min).
I have set on boot checked and the only way to get it OC'd again is to go back into it.
it shows it's at 1113ghz but shows it's running at 245mhz. there any other settings to change to keep this from happening?
never happened before with any previous version.
I'm not exactly sure why you would want to set the minimum so high.... but anyhoo.
The issue is a problem with the version of superuser included with CM - it doesn't seem to hand out superuser permissions early enough for setCPU to apply settings at boottime. The workaround is to flash an older version of superuser. wildmonk posted a flashable, working copy of the older superuser appllication in his thread. Download, flash in recovery, and your troubles will be over.

I leave my min at the default 245. I want the processor to be able to scale all the way down if it doesn't have anything going on.

No problem. Helps me to pass the time at work
Hi all,
this is my first post so first of all I want to say how amazing this community is !!
I've installed gingerDX v018 just following the xda instructions and all has gone smoothly.
Anyways, I'm posting 'cause sometimes my x8 reboots by itself, usually during the night (each time I heard the logo animation alert ). I guess the timing is not significant, but it happens quite every night.
Do you have any idea of what could it be?
There is some x8 log I could read from or may I use the terminal emulator app?
P.s. I didn't flash the kernel, so I'm still using the stock K. No overclocking apps (not yet).
Do a full wipe. The GingerDX thread says there's no need to do a full wipe after update, that must have confused you.
if what Chris95X8 said dosnt work then your stuck for a while until someone makes a -all-in-one sorta fix. i used to have this problem and after a while it rebooted itself and it got stuck in a bootloop so do the full wipe as soon as posible imo.
i did a full wipe and now its back to normal. no more auto reboots either now.
if that dosnt work then reinstall the rom.
I thought I did. I mean, after the installation I did a full wipe to avoid reboot looping I experienced during my first time installation.
My installation steps actions:
- installed v018 zip
- installed extra zip
- ran Factory Reset (full wipe) option
- ran Wipe cache partitionoption
- reboot phone
Did I miss any steps?

In the meanwhile this w/e I'll try to disinstall one app at a time, to see if there are some conflict. It has rebooted just 5 minute ago.
i read that u can try to use another memory card for awhile to check if the problem still happening.
i got the same problem too, and i tried using another memory card but it still happens. lastly, i sent it to the shop and the shop send it to the factory and it gonna take 3 weeks until i got my phone back..

ok, some answers show that it is either the rom or battery, they also suggest to have it sent off to have it looked at, see if anything is mucked up or something. sorry if it isnt much but its all i could find so far

Thank you wilbso, sending it off will be my very last resource. Anyway for now I've removed weather widget from the lockscreen and Homescreen, just to exclude any (?) refreshing data problems. Next step will be to install some task killer and so on.
I'll write if anything work it out!
Coverage
How's coverage in your area?
I had frequent reboots on low signal areas (very bad) and the phone tried to connect 3G to check e-mail. Anyway, after each reboot, I cleaned dalvik and cache, and then eventually it went away after moving from CM7 to GingerDX.
I think another possible problem is the ram cuz you said that you dont use task killers so the problem may be the low ram(every gb problem)if you confirm that this is the problem i sugest you should use advanced task killer form market
I don't think it's a ram problem, I suggest a full wipe an pay attention when you restore, do not restore system app or app data, the problem could be there...
crazy x8. Full wipe is the solution for prob in almost cases in x8 using custom roms. Wierd
@Chris_Castro:
2g signal looks stable, 3g poor, but at home I'm using wi-fi. But just to be sure I'll check the force 2G signal option, so we will see.
@X8invisible13:
I had the same idea yesterday, so I've installed Memory Booster - RAM Optimizer, here my ram data:
total memory: ~ 175MB
memory avaiable: ~26MB
and reading here and there they look to be average values. But one of the next tests will be to install the latest gingerDX rom, or some other cool roms and test each app at a time.
@evil_chris:
mmm, I'm quite the noob here, so I don't have any backup data or backup apps. I was playing around with HS/LS, sliders, icons when I experienced first problems, so had no time to deepen backup systems.
But I got what do you mean, so as I said, the next installation will be a naked one.
Last episode happened yesterday morning, I checked the locked screen, w/o unlocking it, and after 20 sec it rebooted. Just after I logged in it rebooted again
Anyways Thanks guys
I Cleaned Dalvik and cache, and removed the overclock and now looks good
no matter what kernel i flash (except stock) when i turn on data my phone will reboot
i am running revolution rom (tried sense and desensed)
Thanks,
Noahvt
perhaps your phone is just a weaker model?,i have settled on a 722 rom because i would get hereabouts even with a 767 rom,or other possibility not a clean wipe and install,i am admittedly a noob with android phones,pc experience i have plenty.
i wonder if there are any apps to overvolt chip and perhaps then a higher clocked rom can be used

So it seems like since i updated everything to 5.1 (radio etc) ive been having issues with my phone hot rebooting and also losing data. Ill have lte for hours and then all of a sudden i still have full bars but there is a "!" instead of 3G or LTE. Currently im on Temaseks latest nightly but it was happening on chroma also. My Baseband says "MDM9625_104446.01.02.95R". Any idea what could be causing this? (Im also not flashing anything crazy when I flash these roms. I flashed Temaseks nightly about 2 hours ago with the recommended banks gapps, and I just got a hotboot and lost datasignal).

Hey There. I'm a fan of never dirty flashing. I always wipe a few times before I flash anything. I dont do any type of titanium backup or anything either. I even deleted everything on my storage except for the TWRP backup folder and my roms folder so theres nothing weird left behind. Other than the baseband there was nothing else I needed to flash right?

Thanks for clarifying that for me. No, I don't think you've missed anything. Before trying anything too drastic, I'd suggest flashing the factory image, if you can, and see if it continues to happen. I know that can be a hassle but it also could fix whatever might be broken.

no. the nexus 6 has 15 different pvc bin numbers. that means 15 different voltage charts to follow, depending on your devices bin number. and for each bin number, each individual device will vary. so, it might be alright, but most likely you would have to adjust slightly for best voltage for your personal device.

+1! Fastboot factory image. That's what I'd do.
My problem is that on any LinageOS Rom (Currently AEX Phoenix) my cpu frequency is always on max, it only drops for 1-2 seconds and then goes up again. I cannot seem to find a solution and I have been searching forever. I always did a clean flash but it's still the same. I have attached some logs so maybe someone can figure something out.
Thanks for your help.

No, shedutil but the same happens with interactive and conservative
When you clean flash do you full wipe and format data? Without formatting data some kernel settings and various other information stays on your phone. You have to wipe everything then format data. Provides the best experience when flashing
