DATA problem - HTC Desire C

no matter what kernel i flash (except stock) when i turn on data my phone will reboot
i am running revolution rom (tried sense and desensed)
Thanks,
Noahvt

perhaps your phone is just a weaker model?,i have settled on a 722 rom because i would get hereabouts even with a 767 rom,or other possibility not a clean wipe and install,i am admittedly a noob with android phones,pc experience i have plenty.
i wonder if there are any apps to overvolt chip and perhaps then a higher clocked rom can be used

problems with my phone, need help

hey guys, im not your average noob but even though im not a noob i still have some learning to do... that said, i wanted to say that ive been having problems with my phone. im running utakas paranoid nov 17 nighty with hydracore v7 and what happens is that my phone randomly restarts and freezes from time to time... when it restarts, it sometimes is like a normal restart and sometimes from the boot screen (forgot what those are called). the volume too sometimes doesnt work well and have to restart it in order to work (ive installed the beats drivers, might be that) and my gallery doesnt let me view pics and vids that i just took...
i have re installed my rom and kernel, "cleaned" the device with app cleaners (even though it may or may not help), reformatted my inernal and external sd card....
is there anything i can do to make it work or could it be that my phones becoming defective? for that matter, i take good care of my phone, it hasnt gotten wet and clean out the dust it accumulates between the phone and the cover from time to time...
any help is appreciated, thanks in advance
psssst, we got a Q&A section (hint)
Why don't you flash a stock rom and kernel for a few days to see if it is really
your phone acting up, or maybe your actual rom and/or kernel, or maybe app
you installed ?

If passed its a good news... Just change roms maybe try another version of paranoid.. Or ask in the developer forum.. Seems like your hardware its okay

Yea like i said i try n take good care of it... it seemed like software from the beggining... kut of topic question but whats the best way on formatting my sd? Tw rom? Cm, aokp, pa rom? Or a certain app?
Before installing roms (and being sure I'm on a safe kernel) i do all wipes data/cache/Dalvik and also format data, system and preload... That way your device gets really clean of previous firmwares..

[Q] Random screenjumps on minicm10-4.1

Hi.
Latest Naa kernel on my X8. Latest Nightly(0416). Did flashed the proper way - first factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik then flash latest nightly.
BUT in the latest 2 nightlies (0416 and 0328) my screen jumps randomly and the edge of the screen is sometimes at 2/3-rd of the hardware-screen... and the other part peaks in on the other side, but the touchzones are in place.
I have a singletouch device.
Any ideas or fixes?
I am not sure how to help but maybe you can try to change the theme
just a suggestion....besides that don't know how to help

I faced this (and still)
To stop this you can lock & unlock the lockscreen(sometimes work) if dont work restart device ...
To prevent :
1-Do you use overclocking?
-if yes ,uncheck "undervolt" & "set on boot" before overclocking....
2-reflash kernel (I done before & worked :thumbup
3-(last chance) do a system wipe & reflash ROM
#i don't not how this exactly happens, these are personal experience & may work or not.

To all above:
This bug exists in every custom kernel. It is well known. It manifests itself most @ 691 Mhz so don't pick that.
Alfs9c-no-fps-cap shows this bug more than any other kernel but they all have it.
No point reflashing or changing themes - that is futile.
Either change rom & kernel to completely different base or adjust your cpu settings until it goes away.

[Problem] Droid 3 rebooting when screen goes off

I have this strange problem on my droid 3 (I just bought it with this problem).
Every time the screen goes off it reboots. It doesn't happen only when I'm on a JB based rom.I.e,with cm10.1 the Phone works perfectly! But I need Camera functionality,so I could not use it as daily driver!
I tried 6-7 roms gingerbread-based, the steeldroid 5.6(Ics based)and CM9.also stock rom (5.6.890, 5.7.906 and 5.8.25) reboot.
It's not wifi related (it reboots even with wifi off),it's not gsm related (it reboot even in airplane mode),it's not governor related(It reboot set in performance,hotplug,badass,ondemand,userspace...),it's not cpu related(it reboots even if I set Cpu to stay always to the max),it's not account related(it reboots even before setting the account),it's not deepsleep related(it reboots even if I disable deepsleep with wake lock app)
It doesn't reboot when I plug it in Pc but it reboots when it's plugged into the charger..
Help please..I'm going crazy!!

mmmm... looks like it's a storage/kernel problem, try this: unmount the memory card (if you have one) and see if it reboots, after that, connect it to the pc (i guess you did it in memory storage mode) and watch if it reboots, after this, change the usb mode (charge only, windows media, etc.) and for each one, look for a reboot. In the end, try to format both internal storage and memory card (if you have) via pc, BUT, do NOT use quick format, use the long one, and see if anything get better
P.S. after that, you could do an SBF just to be sure that you've restarted from zero!
Bye!

mm..to do that,I have to do it with the stock rom, isn't it?What's the best way to format internal storage from pc?
I will try,but I know that when it's connected to the pc,it never reboots!
Edit:
Formatted internal storage and removed memory card..then flashed .890...It'e still rebooting..Any chance to modify kernel?Or if there's any rom with different kernel, even if GB based..
P.S. Hey..another Italian user?

Bah..very strange behaviour..Next week I'll try an original new battery! Now I have 4 compatible batteries..I know this is not the problem, but I will try everything!
I don't think it's a hardware issue because with JB it works perfectly!

I don't know how to reflash kernel for D3, search somewhere on the forums, but at this point i think this is the problem... i thought this: try the CM9 build with functioning camera (it has the Gingerbread kernel) and see if reboots are still happening, the steel droid 5.6 should be fine, or look for an Hashcode build. If it reboots, then it's definitely a kernel problem, if it runs ok, then it's something related to roms, but i doubt it... This issue is pretty weird!
P.S. I know it's dumb, because you've probably done this with a freshly wiped phone, but could this be originated from an app? i had a problem with a wallpaper changer that freezed my phone on the lockscreen, maybe it's something like that

Ok, now i'm pretty sure that the problem is with the kernel, OR, with a kernel call to a device that doesn't work very well, maybe even the camera... did it works ok? this is the first thing that i'm thinking, because if i'm not wrong, the kexec kernel in the ICS/JB builds is not even calling the camera functions... but i'm pretty trivial now... i hope it's not something like a misplaced component (one of the flat cable connected to the motherboard) but in that case you could just grab a 1€ Torx T5 screwdriver on eBay and see if something is screwed (ha-ha ) hopefully you could do that all by pc and USB port, i'll search a guide to reflash kernel in the D3, and i'll post you the result
P.S. or maybe post a question to all the other guys here on xda that are surely better than me in those tech stuff

The camera was my first thought..Because every rom with full functioning camera reboots! But Camera works great!I have the screwdriver and I will take a look..but I hope is something software related and if we'll find out a way to reflash kernel it will be terrific!!
The question was for every xda-users!!!Thank you for the answers!
AFAIK the kernel is flashed as part of the rom package, try looking through the /etc folder, as I'm pretty sure it's there, but I can't remember what it's called. There are only 2 kernels for the D3 the stock gingerbread and hashcodes kexec kernel. I've moved on from this device, so I'm reaching into the depths of memory, but you can use moto-fastboot to push the boot.img of the stock kernel, you can get it from sbf.droid-developers.org. Just grab the firmware package for your particular model. I'm not sure if you can flash hashcodes kernel via the same method. I've honestly never flashed a kernel on this device, I've NEVER had the need. Best of luck.

thank you for the help!
in hashcode's roms, the kernel is in /etc/kexec..but I have no idea how I could swap the kernel!!simply swapping Kexec folder between cm10.1(that give me no reboot) and Kexec cm9(that reboots)made Cm9 unbootable..
Original battery arrived..It did not solve my problem..

So have you modded your GPU UI rendering during any flashing? Might be the reason, try to re-flash your rom, or another (viper and ARHD are the ones i've used) one good luck

This was happening before i modded my phone, i thought this would fix it, the steps i have taken are: fully factory reset, full wipe even wiped every folder there was including my OS ... oops! tried2 ROMSs, now using Viper 5.7.0
checked developer option it isn't forcing 2D. tried scripts for GPU with smanager that done nothing lol, using vipers stock that came with 5.7.0 also tried the ARHD

your last bet is to RUU and see if that will work. then after you can reflash any rom but thats about the best i can offer you if you've flashed other roms and updated and checked of everything else.

like you said the issue was there before you modded your phone, so im guessing it is a bad processor. How old is your One? And has this issue been present since you got your phone?
yea then i would totally get it replaced under warranty if you still have it. thats your last option.

Consistant Hot Reboots and loss of data signal "!"

So it seems like since i updated everything to 5.1 (radio etc) ive been having issues with my phone hot rebooting and also losing data. Ill have lte for hours and then all of a sudden i still have full bars but there is a "!" instead of 3G or LTE. Currently im on Temaseks latest nightly but it was happening on chroma also. My Baseband says "MDM9625_104446.01.02.95R". Any idea what could be causing this? (Im also not flashing anything crazy when I flash these roms. I flashed Temaseks nightly about 2 hours ago with the recommended banks gapps, and I just got a hotboot and lost datasignal).

Hey There. I'm a fan of never dirty flashing. I always wipe a few times before I flash anything. I dont do any type of titanium backup or anything either. I even deleted everything on my storage except for the TWRP backup folder and my roms folder so theres nothing weird left behind. Other than the baseband there was nothing else I needed to flash right?

Thanks for clarifying that for me. No, I don't think you've missed anything. Before trying anything too drastic, I'd suggest flashing the factory image, if you can, and see if it continues to happen. I know that can be a hassle but it also could fix whatever might be broken.

no. the nexus 6 has 15 different pvc bin numbers. that means 15 different voltage charts to follow, depending on your devices bin number. and for each bin number, each individual device will vary. so, it might be alright, but most likely you would have to adjust slightly for best voltage for your personal device.
