Hi there,
I have tried everything from custom roms to different kernals to scripts to try fix stutter lag in games, i even tried benchmarks and my gpu is having problems with everything, sonic dash as an example constant fps issues, benchmarks im only getting say 20 fps while other phones are around 50-60 fps. I am lost for ideas there must be something?

So have you modded your GPU UI rendering during any flashing? Might be the reason, try to re-flash your rom, or another (viper and ARHD are the ones i've used) one good luck

This was happening before i modded my phone, i thought this would fix it, the steps i have taken are: fully factory reset, full wipe even wiped every folder there was including my OS ... oops! tried2 ROMSs, now using Viper 5.7.0
checked developer option it isn't forcing 2D. tried scripts for GPU with smanager that done nothing lol, using vipers stock that came with 5.7.0 also tried the ARHD

your last bet is to RUU and see if that will work. then after you can reflash any rom but thats about the best i can offer you if you've flashed other roms and updated and checked of everything else.

like you said the issue was there before you modded your phone, so im guessing it is a bad processor. How old is your One? And has this issue been present since you got your phone?
yea then i would totally get it replaced under warranty if you still have it. thats your last option.

thanked. just took the plunge from froyo to cm7 on friday! shoulda waited 2 days but hey, should be a lot quicker this time around.
looking forward to checkin it out
Holy shiznit! Looks like I'm going to have to upgrade from Froyo sooner than expected. I was wondering why dalingrin's kernel thread was so quiet this weekend. Sounds like he and the rest of the Encore team were hard at work.

lol.. wouldn't matter. CM7 is constantly making updates. I usually flash every other day.
anyone know if this fixes sleep issues?
Yes, the answer is no.

OUCH!!! The sleep thing and huge battery drain prevented me from shifting from old-but-sturdy 2.1 stock, which I charged last time...let me think...31 March.
If I had CM7 I would have charged it already 5 times.
Cm7 power problems / sleep death
This may be a dumb question but if Nookie Froyo doesn't have either of the power or sleep problems that CM7 does, would it be possible to track down and fix these bugs by comparing their source codes?

I believe they've found the problem and have fixed it in the kernel, but since it was so close to the release date, they've decided to release CM7 first with the existing kernel first, and then bug test the new one with the fix.
So we can look forward to having it fixed in the next few nightlies, hopefully.

Flash has been working flawlessly since mid-March in CM7. The only major issues to be worked on still with CM7 are improved Bluetooth range, eliminating the Sleep of Death (although it uses only ~1%/hour for me now while in sleep), and as with every device continued performance tweaks. There are plenty of smaller things to be fixed as well including screen shot support (which was fixed by Fattire and just needs verified/added to source), integrated button remapping (in works by Mad-Murdock), and anything else people can think to work on.

Awesome. So far it's running great.

Just got it installed..
So far so good. I took the plunge last night to get it installed. Well, first try after formatting system, data, and cache went ok. Then rebooted and it got stuck on "Android" text at the bottom. Simply restarted holding the "power + n", then it successfully booted into CWR. Flashed and viola. Looks good. Love the included Cyanogen wallpapers. =)
So far, no issues, but then again, I haven't played with it much. My Bluetooth option is listed and when I try to turn it on, it tries for a bit, then does nothing. Any ideas?
Oh yeah... I used the OC kernel and it seems to be fine. =P

BLuetooth is a known issue. You need to either hard reboot, which is holding the physical power till it shuts off, or choose "Fix permissions" in Rom Manager then reboot, or a combination of both.

Also a seperate question. The link i have for the CWR image for my sd card is bad. Not for a bootable sd. I want to nstall cm7 from scratch on the EMMC but i first need to image a CWR sd card then put cm7 stable on it. Do you have that image link?
Thanks!!!
hey guys i have somewhat of a dumb question. I have my nok running hneycomb using that dual booth method. If i wanred to flash cm7 on it, should i completely undo the dual boot? Or go ahead and boot into recovery and try installing it?
You have to first undo the dual boot, because the dual boot created a second partition (hd) on your nook color. If you don't undo the dual boot, you'll just lose that space as cm7 will overwrite the file that allows you to boot into honeycomb.
none of the widgets I downloaded are showing up on the widget list with this rom
Hello
Is someone else experiencing the same thing? After I updated my Optimus 4X to jelly bean my phone became very slow. Free ram dropped to around 200MB. At first I did the upgrade from the LG software, while preserving the settings and everything. I got around 12500ish on the Antutu benchmark. But the phone itself, the keyboard, chrome, sms writting everything was really nearly unusable. Slow loading of the webpages in chrome over wifi, EDGE or 3G not loading pages.
So I searched the forum and some of the guy suggested that the it is advised to wipe the phone to factory default and than update the firmware. I did that too while holding down power and volume key down on the boot. After the update, it was the same. So in the end, I downgraded to 10H IML74K which is working as it should and as it was before upgrading. Now has someone else had the same problem, and how did you resolve it?

flash v20 using "KDZ_FW_UPD" and then make a full wipe. now everything shoud work fine
BTW, next time please use the Q&A section
I did the KDZ update method...and full wipe. And it did not help. As you know also the downgrade is not possible with kdz update procedure, but has to be done with other exe tool. So to add to the tried options I did the LG update/upgrade and a KDZ firmware update and a full wipe. Without good results.
And also I did the search on the forum, otherwise I would not be posting the question, as I do it only when I check and I do not find a solution or thread.

hmm, Why don't you try downgrading to 4.0.3, and then installing new software through KDZ updater?
Here's the rollback instruction:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2179126
I downgraded to 10H ...that is 4.0.3 and I did the upgrade...and full wipe with and without JB, before and after JB.
I cannot say that my phone got "very slow" or "nearly unusable" after the JB update. Still, I did experience the same 200 mb drop in free ram (whether that's positive or negative is another question). Sometimes I got lags when switching homescreens or opening and closing apps as well as having homescreen icons "rebuilding" themselves after closing an app. I tried wiping all caches, did a factory reset and froze all unused stock apps. Problems remained the same.
Therefore I rolled back to ICS 10h. Right now I can live perfectly well without the new JB features and I guess I will simply wait and see if any better update comes along. I guess the frustation with the JB update is due to the fact that it's not quite understandable why a clean update on a cache wiped and factory resetted stock version causes trouble for some users. Even more so because others experience no problems at all.

The LGFlash Tool perfoms the cleanest install.
You shouldn't have any problems after that.
In JB, the page scroll is slower than in ICS. Nothing to do about it...
The rest works fast(er) as on ICS.
I have the same problem, after the update my phone is really slow, the louncher is too slow an laggy, when I do click on phone icon, the application takes about 5 seconds to open.
Once the phone has the screen off for about 30 minutes and turn it on, the icons and widgets disappear and reappear in about 4 seconds and the screen goes completely blocked.
When I few minutes without opening the menu and open it, this is slow and has lagged flow.
I've also noticed quite lag on the lock screen.
I have a question, to make roolback the phone must be rooted?
Thanks
Have you done factory reset after update? If you havent, do it and the problem will be gone..:good:

I have absolutely same problem as you.....it really bugs me
I too agree with all who fell the JB update has slowed LG optimus 4X HD. I recently updated to V20 (4.1.2) and I could see lot of lag in many of the operations. A factory reset although improved the performance, but the lag is still noticeable. Jelly bean was supposed to make things smoother (with its project butter) but in this case, it has made the performance worst.
I am planning to switching back to V10
Have you tried this method?

why don't you install cyanogenmod latest nightly and then optimize it,
i have more than 500mb ram available
underclocked my processor to some 800
and just disabled few default apps
and i have no lag at all even i play low level games with listening to music in background and replying to messages at the same time with zero lag.
so try cm 10.1 and optimize it...

You don't have lag and also few other things. Before advice a OS against other, report also the issues. There are a few with CM... Until now, only official ICS or JB are the 100% working OS's. With or without lag (also depends on user settings).

My Baseband says "MDM9625_104446.01.02.95R". Any idea what could be causing this? (Im also not flashing anything crazy when I flash these roms. I flashed Temaseks nightly about 2 hours ago with the recommended banks gapps, and I just got a hotboot and lost datasignal).

Hey There. I'm a fan of never dirty flashing. I always wipe a few times before I flash anything. I dont do any type of titanium backup or anything either. I even deleted everything on my storage except for the TWRP backup folder and my roms folder so theres nothing weird left behind. Other than the baseband there was nothing else I needed to flash right?

Thanks for clarifying that for me. No, I don't think you've missed anything. Before trying anything too drastic, I'd suggest flashing the factory image, if you can, and see if it continues to happen. I know that can be a hassle but it also could fix whatever might be broken.

no. the nexus 6 has 15 different pvc bin numbers. that means 15 different voltage charts to follow, depending on your devices bin number. and for each bin number, each individual device will vary. so, it might be alright, but most likely you would have to adjust slightly for best voltage for your personal device.

+1! Fastboot factory image. That's what I'd do.
Not gonna ask the best ROM, as everyone gets a bit uptight about those, and feel the need to defend "their team" and all that...
My question is more generic, in that I am wondering if there is even a ROM out there that will meet MY needs... so if I list those things that I would need in a ROM, maybe someone can simply answer yes or no and point me in the right direction?
Here is what I would be looking for in a ROM:
1) Stability, has to be as stable as stock, no screens of dead or random reboots
2) Speed, zero lag, fast and fluid
3) Everything has to work. If it works on stock, be it apps like VZW Visual VM or whatever, it needs to work on the ROM
4) More polish and eye candy, nice animations, make the device beautiful to use without being buggy or laggy
5) Battery life at least as good as stock
If there is a ROM that gives you all that, has a bit more customization but not so much that it takes half a day to set it up, what would it be? Or would I be better served just using a different launcher?
I have not installed a ROM in a couple years... I was a flashaholic for awhile, but a few phones that I had in a row worked really well in stock form, and some had locked bootloaders that never got cracked, so I kinda gave up on them for while and so my knowledge is a bit rusty...
What I don't want to do is go to the trouble of installing a new ROM and having it not work, or be buggy, etc... This has to be daily driver quality and I want to USE it, no spend too much time fiddling with it.
Ideas?

I can use Wug's Nexus toolkit to install a custom recovery, and then take the downloaded ROM and recommended GAPPS files, go into Recovery, install ROM, install Gapps, then factory reset and I am good to go?

I don't personally recommend toolkits unless you have ADB/fastboot knowledge and experience but otherwise yes. You don't need to factory reset after ROM installation, just do the required wipes, generally listed in the OP of the ROM you choose, in TWRP, prior to flashing.

Which is the better/easier Recovery to use?

Got it, just installed it. Put the ROM and Gapps in a folder and I will first make a Nandroid of my current setup... Then I will try it out.
The OP for that ROM doesn't have any instructions, but you said that in TWRP that I need to wipe cache and stuff PRIOR to installing the ROM? I always thought you did that last? Am I remembering it wrong or did something change?

For your first installation, wipe, used advanced wipe, then select dalvik, cache, data, and system. Then flash your ROM. Updates to the same ROM can usually be "dirty flashed" by simply wiping cache and dalvik prior to installation.
Tried it out, but found that it was slower in Antutu by 3,000 points and it was a bit laggy at times... Weird.
I wouldn't hold a ton of value or base anything off Antutu.
Sorry if I didn't pay attention to time stamps between your posting. I did look at your stats and see you have plenty of experience here. May just need to give a bit of time for ROM to settle.
I have tried several ROMs here and consider there to be a BIG 3, or the most popular. I won't say the names due to the fact that I don't want to place any one above the other. However, I would recommend a ROM with Layers.
When you go to wipe prior, wipe all but internal storage. I wipe twice, just because I am OCD. Flash all necessaries and sometimes an alternate kernal will help, but give baked in kernal a chance. At least a cylcle or two. Wipe the Davlik and Cache after flash, as TWRP suggests.
There are a few to choose from which are close to stock without overdoing it. Most things folks want to do to customize can be done with apps in Play Store without over loading file size of ROM.
OK, I'll say it, but I don't want you to think I am partial. Try Chroma

Oh trust me, I have no concerns with people being partial. Some people get bent out of shape in "best ROM" debates, but I don't. I WANT to know which ones are top tier, and why, from people that have used them.
I know that Antutu is not the end all be all... But when I saw it was laggy, I run that to see if it is just placebo, and sure enough, it was slower and there was a little stuttering and lower frame rates in the final 3D game test... I just use it as a reference point, that's all...
I played with Layers a little and didn't really get much out of it... It just seemed to change the color a bit on menus and things, so I didn't see a lot of benefit.... or am I missing something?
I will take a look at Chroma and see how that looks, thanks.
