Hi all. I just did a factory reset because of the led issue, and in my stupidity I erase all internal memory (including the original sony photos and music). How can I get them back? Thanks
use the search function the files you are asking for are somewhere here and its your job to look for them if needed.

can someone help me ?? just like title says, i lost all the pics of my daughter when she was borned, as well as some other important pic..( yeh, i know i was being dumb for storing that many pics on it...)
search google for photo recovery theres a bunch of apps out there to help you out.
My gf's sd card for her camera which had over 1000 pics got corrupted and i found an app and recovered all photos except for 4-5 of them. Can't remember the name of the app but do a google search, may head over to cnet.com and check out some software reviews. There are some free ones out there so don't pay for one unless people recommend it.
I remember some softwares can do that recovery. You can google and will get the detailed information.
this one worked for me although not a freeware

yes you can! search google for data recovery softwares. u'll find many.
but take care not to use the sd card by overwriting data till you are done with recovery.
not freeware http://www.runtime.org/
i use this program quite often and it has always worked.
Freeware: Recuva
Hi Guys,
I encounter a strange thing, yesterday my phone was very heat and decided to pull battery out manually (because i don know what things running behind) After restarting the phone, i found out that the internal memory of my photos, videos and the application data are all gone, the phone main screen is normal all the apps icon still there but some apps are not able to run smoothly and need re installed.
My question is:
1. I try to use data recovery software from pc (recuva, stella pheonix etc) but i cant find the photos and videos that i need to recover), at the same time, i try to use from phone apps (undelete, diskdigger). The results are the same i cant find and recover all the files is needed. Anyone know how to recover in other ways?
2. I saw my photo gallery has alot of thumbnail images which i cant open at all after this. I have deleted it, what causes it happen and the thumbnail cache file is more than 2gb, i not dare to delete and i was hoping my files are inside.
3. Is this problem happen due to memory corrupted? or some apps like antivirus caused ? i just install a antivirus call COMODO the day before it happen.
Hi there,
I recently rooted my Galaxy y (ah! that feeling). After rooting I used Rom Toolbox to move some of my apps to sd card. While doing this I also moved two of my widgets to sdcard - Sticky notes and Extended control. It didn't take long to realise that moving widgets to sd card was not a good decision!
I lost all the sticky notes that I've put up on my home screen (and there were LOTS of them). I've put up a lot of information on those sticky notes and now I don't have access to any of it.
Also, rooting didn't cause this as notes were there even after rooting.
Can somebody help me with getting them back. I mean, I didn't delete them, so they have to be there somewhere in memory..
Help! :crying:
probably best to ask these questions in the Galaxy forum rather than dream, but whatever.
as you found out widgets dont play nice on the sd card and you need to move them back (yes you are right that rooting didnt do anything bad to your phone)
you need to see where the data attached to these apps/widgets are stored and make sure they are not lost, commonly found in
data/data

Moveing the widgets back to phone memory enabled the widgets but didn't recover the data. Tried to find folder of sticky notes in data/data but couldn't.
How to proceed now?
ok ,a quick one,i know there are similar threads about this but i am still unsure as my Z is still a 'virgin' and i need infinite information about the app backup and restore for unrooted XZ. After updated to 253. via pc companion,i feel the need of doing factory reset sorta of refresh everything you know.
But of course i cant risk losing any games data especially when i had gone really far on some games as well as other apps data.
I just want a quick and accurate answer will the backup and restore app really saves the apps data, saved games especially for big games like asphalt ,final fantasy etc?
I checked three of the boxes to backup, system apps, media and downloaded apps data with all the apps ticked below, its backing up to my SD card. (Image in thumbnail below)
After this, can i safely perform the factory reset without worries of losing any data? Any confirmed information would be appreciated, thanks.
anyone? ...
Does anyone know whether it's possible to use the Google Plus Photos app with sync on the Z1 Sony stock firmware (I'm using 4.4.2)?
How it is supposed to behave:
- Edited photos replace the original, yet maintain the edit/meta-information to revert
- All changes, including deleting photos, sync across all devices
How it behaves for me:
- Editing a photo on the Z1 creates a new image, without the editing information, i.e. without being able to revert anything
- The original photo on the device does not get deleted when I delete it on another device or online

Hi!
Maybe it's a stuppid suggestion, but have you check the option "google+ photos" is activated in Settings > Google > "your gmail account" ???

Same here, found out it was because my pictures were on my SD card.
Are your pictures on an SD card? If so, move them to Internal Storage and see if the problem persists.
You should also run the SD card fix if the SD card issue was your problem.

thanks, I did save to SD card before but disabled it already. perhaps I try wiping the remaining photos from the card. can I ask what do you mean by SD card fix?
edit:
actually I just quickly wiped the phone to see if it's of any fix. unfortunately, it's not. the behaviour is really annoying:
- if I edit a pic in google plus online or another android device, the Z1 shows the edited version in the google photos app and the original version in the sony album app
- if I delete a picture in google plus online or via another android device, it will disappear in the google photos app on the Z1 but remain on the stock album app
- if I open a photo from the stock album app and select to edit it in the google photos app, there will be a copy of the original plus an edited copy in the stock album app, but only an edited version in the photos app.
so ultimately, making the sync/edit tools from google useless as it creates a mess, I used to edit my photos all the time on my N10 or online and everything was synced nicely. now the only non-messy option is doing _everything_ from within the sony app and also lose the option to change edits later on.
any help how to solve this appreciated. but I have a feeling that this is not possible on stock. anyone knows the behaviour on CM?
