Hi,
I don't get into the hidden menu to check bootloader.
I enter 3845#*880# into the dialer but nothing happens.
you know why?
Thats because there's no lge.hiddenmenu in the system.
As a result, you also can't turn on unlimited temperature charging.
Hence, you can't use your phone and charge, YET.

did you accidentally disabled 'com.lge.hiddenmenu' in titanium backup?
thank you
I have actually deleted it, while I removed bloatware...
Restored and now it works

of all the apps that i use on my android phones the most (CoPilot aside) is Titanium Backup Full/Pro/Donate whatever you want to call it.
Just make sure you unlock it to get the DropBox feature.
in the Nexus S with the lack of the extra external storage, it's almost a must have to be able to back/restore all your apps & settings online, and on the go, so that if crap happens, you can easily just restore them all back.
it also facilitates a lot when we are constantly trying out new ROMs
with the 1 click restore feature
How do you do it mate? I backed up to phone then synced with dropbox? Is that it? Would be awesome if someone made a drop box music player lol

I highly recommend Titanium Backup. The donate version is a must for anyone who flashes ROMs.

Just google it: "Nandroid vs MyBackup Pro vs Titanium Backup." You'll gain all the information you need. It's been talked a lot.
Nandroid = Every nook and cranny.
Titanium Backup = Basically everything app related and system settings. Doesn't touch the OS itself. Pro version has that auto install feature when you restore apps.
MyBackup Pro = Dunno if it changed much, but it backs up everything app related. No system settings. Also backs up app data if you have root. Restore app one by one.
I might have forgotten something because the last time I used MyBackup was about year or two ago.

Actually, MyBackup Pro does back up system settings. Also backs up SMS and MMS and photos. Also batch restores the apps.
What I did not have a good experience is backing up contacts as it conflicts with google's contact sync and I ended up with double contacts..this was almost a year ago though..
Another recommendation here though only for the pro version. The regular version is just a pain to back up and restore all your apps.

it's true about the pain to restore
but the FREE version you still have the 1 button backup everything option
I really like nitsuj17 lists that he has made for roms, kernels, and themes and thought I would start my own.
To begin with I have gone through several of the first pages of this forum to look for good apps to start the list off with. Some of these are apps that I personally have found to work very well and better than the stock apps.
Please post any apps that have to do with rooting, replacing stock apps i.e. (chomp sms, launcher pro, or live home), or flashing. Please do not post games and entertainment apps. I will probably start a new thread for those kinds of apps later.

Definitely Tasker.
Also: BLN (Pro), Desktop Visualizer, QuickPic, TiBackup.
Titanium Backup
ROM Manager
I personally do not think that desktop visualizer is that useful but that might just be me. Tell me wether or not y'all think I should include it in the list.
ADW Ex should be listed under launchers.

ha rom manager is such a fail
I would agree except for the fact that it makes it easy to flash themes, roms, and kernels without having to go into clockwork mod. If it did not have that I would regard it as useless.

Uninstalled:
o F-Secure
o Car Home
o LG Email (installed stock android e-mail instead, it actually works with Exchange.)
o PC Suite
o On Screen Phone and related services
o LG Launcher (don't do this unless you're sure you'll not need to factory reset.)
o SNS (Twitter/Facebook, official apps are better.)
o All LG-widgets except for Messages and Calendar.
o Voice Search
If you're unsure if uninstalling an app will mess up your phone, just freeze it instead. (If you're using Titanium Backup, which you should, you can get it to remove it from the Market and app-screen as well, making it appear completely uninstalled. If your phone doesn't do anything strange for a week then it's probably safe to uninstall it for real.)

thanks TrymHansen...
i do have Titanium backup pro. i'm a veteran of the galaxy i7500, so i did alot of freezing and uninstalling.
i opened this thread to compile a list of safe prof uninstalling so everyone will benefit
from it.
your reply is great contribution in that cause.
How you uninstalled all these apps?
Optimus2XPrime -
1. you need to have root (read how to in the Development sector).
2. you need to install any uninstalling tool from the market (Titanium backup for example).
3. you need to be very careful with what you uninstall so the phone will still be usable.
4. advice - uninstall stuff thet you read others have and reported it's fine...

P.S some minutes after my post I found the answer
what does freeze do ?
removes selected app from app drawer and cannot be started by user and/or system. like they are uninstalled, but still there, occupying few megabytes. can easily be un-freezed from Titanuim
Isnt there any free software ? titanium is paid one

if you want to freeze the SMS app, you need to freeze MMS.apk
I just flashed the stock o version, and tried uninstalling the lg sns app, as i thought it is the one that contains Facebook and twitter. After the uninstall my home screen would no longer load and i had to reflash again. How can i remove those apps?
Also on the stock home screen bar how can i change the default messaging link?
Thanks a lot
Ps. I tried searching for these, as i thought these should be common questions, but my searching skills are just horrible.

Is it even possible to uninstall the LG sns apps from stock rom? Are you rooted? For what I know, it is a system app and cannot be uninstalled like ordinary user apps.
Anyway, if you phone's rooted, you can just download titanium backup and either freeze it or uninstall it from there, should be no problem, I do that too, I don't like the sns apps and some other LG bloatware. I don't know about deleting it manually using apps like root explorer or es explorer will have any negative side effects, but it usually don't.
Cheers!
Yes i am rooted and I tried to remove sns and also F-Secure using Titanium Backup, but thereafter i could not get to my homescreen anymore. I will try it again. Maybe it was something else i did, and not the removal of sns that caused the problem.
While rooted, uninstalling them with Titanium Backup works fine for me.
About the default messaging app on the home screen, if you mean by the 4 icons that is always there.. I don't think you can change it,atleast not easily anyway, there is no options for that.
Actually it's very easy to change the bottom icons in the LG Launcher. Enter the apps-drawer, click menu/edit, then just drag the apps you want down to the bottom icons.
Thanks. That was exactly what i wanted. I tried just dragging without the edit part but that did not work. I was also able to remove sns without problems.
