Based on gsmarena:
V has Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon, while T has Qualcomm MSM8260A.
Better screen? V recognizes 10 fingers while T - only 4.
V has Bravia Engine 2, T has Bravia Engine.
720 x 1280 pixels, 4.3 inches (~342 ppi pixel density) vs 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.55 inches (~323 ppi pixel density)
I read somewhere that V has 2 layers screen instead of the 3 layers screens used so far resulting in a thinner screen.

I think different version of T have different specs. I got my information from here when I thought of buying the phone: http://www.xperiablog.net/2012/08/31/specifications-compared-xperia-ttx-vs-xperia-v-vs-xperia-j/
As for the multitouch. Mine supports 10 fingers I don't know why GSM arena would put that us
I forgot that the latest update brought BE2. But apart from that I doubt the other things would make a visible difference in the screen quality, especially the difference in PPI.
I see. That's something I haven't seen before
In that case the only pros for the Xperia V are the water/dust resistance and the Bluetooth 4.0 (as of me as a user I don't care much about Bluetooth version). Probably LTE too.

What are your thoughts when comparing our ace with various mid-range Xperia phones? Mainly the Xperia Pro, Xperia Neo, Xperia Ray and the live with walkman.
Of course Xperia are better!
Already set on my mind, get a Xperia smartphone next time...
Sent from my WAREZ impulses.
its not fair comparing them, because ace uses armv6 while those xperias got armv7.
when its first announce ace was better choice among low-mid end device at that time.
but now not anymore after a year and a half, its getting old.
and answering your question, yes those xperias definitely better than ace.
Ok then thanks for your replies. Imo the difference in the processors isn't an unfair variable in the comparison but rather a point to compare Plus Xperias come with a rocking UI compared to TW so yeah aiming for Xperia once I get rid of my ace
My brothers got the xperia ray and the only bad thing is the screen seems really thin.
The xperia's will be better because there newer. In 1 year's time there will phones better than them (in that price range )
ya xperias are good in specifications ... but few things i miss from my ace :
i feel its touchscreen is better than mini/pro , lww.....
its camera is rocking ... way bettter than xperia... ( except for video ofcourse)....
and they say its 720p but quality is not really 720p......

720p is a video resolution, it can has the worst quality ever, but still is 720p (720p = 720 rows, generally is a 1280x720 resolution; p stands for progressive scan)
its common misconception of all that bigger resolution=better.
what does matter and most important is camera sensor.
u can have 18mp but wilh crappy sensor it will just produce crappy quality.
my ace 5mp and live with walkman 5mp still looks stupid compared to my previous nokia n78 3.15mp with carl zeiss optics.

for video isn't a sensor issues, mid-range phones barely have enought cpu/gpu power to decode an avc video, encode ones requires almost three times more resources (an 1hr 1080p is played realtime with an [email protected], it takes 2 days to encode it), so quality is affected by the encoder limited and marked by speed/resource.
for photo, ace has one of the best cameras, in comparison to many Nokia, and, imho, superior even to the blazoned chambers of ipad 3 and iphone 4 too (too many noise and fake details even compared to 5D mark II)

Really dude? We're on XDA, anyone here wouldnt care less about the stock interface when buying a phone, it's customizable!
Xxx
I thing samsung is better ,because xperia has bad software
I think that every kind of customization if done bad makes phones slow and sometimes crap (look at how Touchwiz affect performance on the Galaxy S4). Touchwiz is insanely slow without being nothin special. Best optimized and functional interface on Android is Sense. About Xperia rom is like a Touchwiz theme with some changes and A LOT more bloatware and junk than Samsung's one (Xperia U is slower than Galaxy Ace because of the so many useless app running in background made by Sony). That's my opinion.
Again an old thread revived
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
I have just taken closer looks to SGSIII And XPERIA Arc S and they have a godlike display. The graphics are extremely clear. Is there anything i can do to improve my graphics??
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda premium
not quite possible. the screens that you are looking and wooing are 720p HD screens. clarity is directly proportional to ppi (pixel per inch, calculated by square rooting the division of the square of the diagonal length of the display with the addition to the individual squares of the pixel size length and breadth across the display).
for Eg - for OB, the ppi will be [Sq. Root of {(480^2+800^2)/4.0^2}], which roughly comes to 233
SGS III is 306 and Xperia S is 342, both are approximated values.
u can flash the Bravia Engine port, but that would give some marginal benefits in increasing post processing contrast.
but as for WVGA screens, i can assure you, u perhaps have THE BEST screen around
OB at full brightness can make the SGS II screen feel insecure.
plus the IPS display ensures that you don't get the FAKE colors of OLED-AMOLED-SAMOLED. so enjoy wat u got
It's almost time to choose a new phone from my provider and I already thought that the Xperia V was it.
But after reading a lot of review and watching all the video's, I need your opinion.
What are the most signifcant differences between the V and the T, only the LTE support and water resistance?
T:
- Bigger Screen
- Camera button
V:
- Water resistant
- LTE
So, my main question, what is, in your opinion, the best choice ?
Moved to Q&A
The Xperia T also has the superior front-facing camera at 1.3MP with 720p HD video recording (Xperia V only has a VGA front camera), so that could factor into your decision as well. The Xperia V currently has some software advantages on the stock ROMs, incorporating features that Sony won't be adding to the Xperia T until the Jelly Bean update. I ultimately chose the V because of the LTE support and its personally more preferable screen size at 4.3", and the waterproofing is a nice added bonus as well. It's best to keep in mind that the Xperia T has far more developers at this point, however, so that could be the biggest deciding factor for you.
I'm a Xperia z user, i was offered a 16gb moto x, i know i'm asking in Xperia z forum, not the best place to ask but you guys can try to be fair...i'd like to know pros a cons of each phone, and wich is better un general, the best optimized with Android in it, i prefer exact and technical answers thanks in avance to all. Relevant points could be, battery life, camera (updated moto x camera Vs 4.4.2 Xz camera), Google support with updates, outter aestethics, touch feel, media (music, videos, photos), general speed..

That might be a little difficult since this is the Xperia Z, and Moto X user Don't come around here I guess. But I would give Moto the fact that is basically vanilla android, hence there would be more upgrades. The Xperia Z I'm pretty sure the update would stop at KK 4.4.2 A friend have the MotoX and it seems nice, the display I like it more on the Xperia, make sense since we have more ppi. hte camera I fell is more or les the same, the Xperia suffers on low light. That's about it I can tell.

I enjoy this kind of comments, since you said kind of things I wanted to ear/see of, I know moto X user won't be sneaking by, but maybe some users here have had the chance to manipulate both phones.

Moto x screen is better than xperia z screen. viewing angles are not that good in xperia z. It fades when you tilt the phone. Moto x has cool gestures and active display. In low lighting, moto x camera does a decent job compared to z. But in looks department, z looks more premium. Battery life are one and the same. Z is an year old phone and won't get fast updates. 4.4.2 may be the last update. And moto x is current flagship phone and it is more likely to get future updates.

thanks @anagramgenius regardless Xperia z carry a 1080p display TFT technology is so much outdated till today where we can find IPS technology with crisp and sharper images and colors and awesome viewing angles, I've read and many forums around and tells moto X got a unlimited battery [emoji1], and there's a huge change and great performance because it's customized CPU, what do you think?

yeah. thanks to that 1.7ghz dual core processor and other processors for touchless controls. the 1.5ghz quad core processor in z is old one compared to that. Battery on moto x is ok. Nothing spectacular. Heard that after kitkat update, battery life is not so good.
It seems that there are a lot of devices with Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Soc (MS8916) that have practically the same specs. Some of the phones are even made by big OEMs like Asus. For example there's the Zenfone 2 ZE500KL, which has the same 5-inch, 1280x720 screen (~294 ppi pixel density) of the Android One gen 2 devices.
Code:
http://www.gsmarena.com/asus_zenfone_2_laser_ze500kl-7474.php
There's also the Zenfone 2 ZE550KL, which is practically the same device but with a larger screen, 5.5-inch, 1280x720 screen (~267 ppi pixel density)
Code:

So my question, does anybody have a list or link to a forum discussion concerning such devices? This would be interesting from both a developer's and user's perspective since it would allow some unsupported devices to be supported using some minor build configuration tweaks.
Android One devices don't use the Snapdragon 410
As for a list, you can start here then check if each device has a sub forum in xda.
