[Q] unable to flash rom - Sprint HTC One (M7)

Hey guys n gals i am trying to adb push a rom to my phone (since i screwed it up earlier today) so i can flash it. All goes well up until the point of flashing. when i try to flash it says E:Unable to mount '/data'
E:Unable to mount internal storage.
any ideas on how i can fix this issue?

In your recovery there should be a mounts and storage option or something similar, in there find Internal Storage and mount it, I think this should work since I would get that error but for system and mounting system would fix it.

i am using twrp and there is a mount option but when i click storage:internal storage it does nothing...it is also saying internal storage is (0mb) which leads me to believe something is not formated correctly. but i don't know of any way to reformat it

OMG!!!!! i am so happy right now...i have been fighting this all day and all i needed to do was format data under the wiping option.

error mounting sdcard after moving apps to sdcard

on GDXv25 abd alfv8a have all the extra goodies for vold and all that. I change my SDCARD to a bigger one. format a partition for ext4 and leave the rest as default. On moving old stuffs back to it it seems to behave very well. Then I decide to move some of the apps to offload internal storage. The moving seems totally ok but after reboot my sdcard seems not be able to mount anymore. Go into CWM recovery and try to mount my sdcard. It says error mounting /sdcard yet I could succesfully mount my ext4 partition. At this point should I go ahead and re-format the sdcard again? What happens to those apps that I offload to the sdcard? are they toasted?
I'd to get some opinion before I re-format it since it will bring me over the point of no return. I still have no clue why all of a sudden after the moving of my apps that the partition won't mount anymore
On my linux I try to mount it via USB... it gives an error saying can't mount coz it can't read superblock. I gather some operations must have wiped into superblock. Sh*t hits the fan so to speak
by the way it is a new sdcard ... I dun think i damage it. But from CWM I can't even go ahead and format it because it says error mounting the partition.
I am amazed - I thought you don't need to mount before you can format. what's the deal here? I can't mount and I can't format?

That error message simply means that the ext filesystem in the sd-ext partition is kaputt and needs to be repaired (for example, manually restore a copy of the superblock) or formatted.
And that's your reason why you ran into problems ... something went wrong as you moved your old stuff onto the new card, and the next app you put onto the sd-ext finally triggered the problem.
Of course there's also the slight chance that the phone doesn't like the SD card.
finally I am able to format that sdcard by inserting into my kodak video playsport camera and format that from there! It's ridiculous that under CWM I am not able to do something as simple as formatting. That should not be a "feature" at all! Error mounting the card I could accept that but not able to format a card with screwed up superblock that's not acceptable.
With this exercise, I realize how valuable a backup it is. With all those apps xferred to the sdcard, I practically cross a bridge. Even with old usable card re-insert into phone those apps are gone and are no longer available. Only a backup (of course on a usable putaway MMC card) could have saved me all the trouble.
I still dunno what have gone wrong in the first place. Perhaps there's something I dun quite understand about moving apps to xternal storage.

Stuck in a bootloop

I had originally install TWRP on my HTC one and then i installed the stable release of cyanogenmod and it all worked great except for the fact that i had no service anymore. So i decied would try to go back to stock HTC sence but I think I wiped my internal storage. I can boot into TWRP and fastboot but My phone just keeps loading the cyanogenmod logo then restarting and repeating. I was trying to follow the qbking unbrick your htc one tutorial it but in the program it asks me to go from image version 1.31.651.2 to image version 1.12.651.10 and the video says they should be the same. how can i just get my phone back to factory settings?
All you need to do is sideload a Rom hopefully you know how to use adb if not Google how to sideload a Rom.

Are old nandroids there (backups)...if not...
Sounds like you did a format all - Easy to do on TWRP. Unable to mount those Directories because that Aren't there.
Push has no location....try adb push /sdcard ???
if not. you can ruu...it just sucks to start over...

I made a dumb decision and instead of backing up my phone i just decided i would not mess it up. boy did i learn my lesson.
when i type adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/ it takes a bit but it pushes the file to /sdcard. I can then see the rom on my phone but when i try to install it I get
E:Unable to mount '/data/ '
E:Unable to mount '/data/ '
Error flashing zip ' /sdcard/ROM.zip'
updating partition details
E:Unable to mount '/data/ '
E:Unable to mount internal storage
also even after i push it over the bar at the top of twrp says Storage: Internal Storage (0 MB) does that mean its not getting pushed over even though i can see it on the phone?

SGS Logic Board corrupted?

Hello friends, I got my SGS(GT-I9000) 3 years back and love this phone a lot since it was my first. I've changed a lot of roms from time to time but this last rom i flashed was MIUI. After i flashed it, it goes into recovery mode and over there i saw a few errors which i tried fixing and never found a solution. Before i flashed MIUI i was running Slim Rom v4.3. Since i was desperate i took it to the Samsung's Service Center and they told me i gotta change my Logic or Mother Board which was around 105$ or something. I decided to try something before i bid farewell to this awesome phone. After i got it back from the Service Center i noticed in the Recovery Mode there were more errors than before.
I've attached a pic of these errors. I tried flashing stock and various other roms but no luck. Is the phone gone for good? or is it fixable?

two Q.s
1) After you got back you have more issues? what was the initial issue, if you can recall?
2) How do you get formatting ( in Picture) by just entering recovery? remove Ext SD card & SIM , same result by powering on?

Initially, I was getting 4 errors :
E: copy_dbdata_media: format SDCARD:
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (No such file or directory)
E: copy_dbdata_media : Can't mount SDCARD : copy default media content failed.
E: Can't mount /dev/block/stl111 (Invalid Argument)
After flashing MIUI rom through download mode it would restart and go into recovery and do some initializations but the above 4 errors poped up.
The lady at the service center mentioned that they are gonna dead the motherboard or something about removing power from the logic board completely.
The Formatting SDCARD... popped up after i came home and tried getting into recovery and noticed these Arrays or argument vectors.
I don't have an external card, the phone came with 16 GB internal card.
Do you want me to put up a video, so you can get a clear picture what's going on?

Basically the yellow messages will come up when the phone is installing something and the red messages will come up when they are errors that needs to be resolved,. basically it looks like you have an internal SD card problem.
you should try to format all the partitions first If possible (by flashing a CWM recovery) and try for a fresh install of a stock ROM after that.
so read this first to get an idea of what needs to be done, enter download mode and flash the i9000 speedmod kernel, (do not reboot) enter CWM and format everything in Mounts & Storage (do not reboot), enter download mode and follow this to flash a gingerbread ROM on it .
if its not possible to format the partitions, the only other option would be to use an external SD card partitioned into two to act as the internal SD card to boot the phone. Just read all the links in the first link to understand how this can be resolved.
At the same time, for samsung service centers, it would be , changing the whole logic Board (mother board) as they would not replace just the SD card alone, which is the problem here. Some Mobile Technicians have simply striped it off and used the external Sd card to solve such problems.

Thanks for the reply and the workarounds.
I was able to install CWM (CF-Root-XX_OXA_JW4-v4.4-CWM3RFS).
And now it says unable to process volume !. Do i proceed to Partition SD card? and what Ext size do i choose?
And under mounts and storage there is no /data, etc but only "mount USB storage".
I tried wipe data/factory reset and i get these :
--Wiping data...
formatting /data...
E:unknown volume "/data"
Formatting /cache...
E:unknown volume "/cache"
Formatting /sd-ext...
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure...
E:unknown volume "/sdcard/.android_secure"
Data wipe complete.
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/log]
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/last_log]
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:unknown volume for path [/cache/recovery/command]

take a look at this under mounts and storage menu you can format all the partitions, if its not there than flash the speedmod kernel and format them, as advised earlier, do not partition your SD card

If i try to mount sdcard i get the same error when i try to format sdcard. How do i proceed further? I'm also out to get an external card of 8gb or 16 gb

It should be obvious by now that the problem is in mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0) not being able to format, so best get a 16GB external card and partition it to solve your problem , your internal have to be scrapped and best to use only external

Yeah, i got the external 16gb card, it shows 14.48 gb free on the computer but doesn't load properly from the sd card. I'm stuck and not able to format the sdcard. I'm really stressed out now lol. It's not even recognizing through EASEUS Partition Master. I'll figure something out...any guides i should follow for partitioning it? I create two primary partitions of 2GB(vfat) and remaining fat32 right?

yes, it will only be abt 14GB, you use the speedmod CWM menu to format it in the Phone and you should be ableto use it, the earlier links given to you have guides on how to partition it.

Thank You for your support. I think the phone does not recognize the external sd-card. Through CWM i went to storage and mounts and tried to format/mount sd-ext but it failed. I wasn't able to format or mount.
I used minitool partition to create two partitions of EXT(2 GB) and FAT32(12.8). After flashing i got errors can't mount sdcard and can't copy to media. So i tried formatting through Backtrack with mkfs.reiserfs and mkfs.vfat, put the card in the phone and flashed various roms and your rescue kit (ezbase). I get the same error. I guess the phone is gone for good.

That's sad, but I guess I sort of noted it might be the case, as you were unable to format the boot partition (your earlier post) .
the only option for this now is to buy a scrap (broken) SGS and switch the mother board

internal sdcard0 undetected with error: command '117 partition disk volume

Since this morning, my janice fails to mount the sdcard0 failing to download files from the browser, or pictures from whatsapp. Going in -Settings - internal memory; the sdcard0 been damaged and that to use it you must first configure / format it. Formatting does not start and a message appears: command '117 volume partition disk: 179_0 public' failed with '400 117 Command failed'
How can I fix the problem?
idk really about this..what about mount sdcard0 in recovery? Happy Canada Day ”9¶3

What izwan15 is saying is that
GO TO RECOVERY (vol UP + HOME +POWER)
Select mount and storage option
See if sd card0(internal memory card) is mounted if you see it unmount , just click and mount it ,
reboot and see if it fixes the problem .
hope it helps
From recovery when I go to - Mounts and Storage - mount / storage / sdcard0 appear this error message: / storage / sdcard0: Idle-Unmounted E: Error mounting / storage / sdcard0.
I do not know which way to turn!
Please help me!!

HI , well i would say that the partition table is screwed for some reason, because the internal storage partition has gone completely gone you are having this issue simple thing to solve this would be flashing stock which will ultimately repart the partitions and format the sdcard0. [Try to backup some important data first].
SOLVED. Give a medal to this man. Thank you so much @DaksAnkit.
I installed the Stock Rom via custom recovery (found on another forum by a user called Gargaros) and subsequently by a temporary recovery reinstalled the Rom I wanted (in my case 5.1.1). Now everything works perfectly!:victory:

Unable to mount /cache /system /vendor /data /firmware /persist

Hi guys.
My rooted mi5 turned off on its own and failed to boot. I opened TWRP and it showed 0MB of space :/
No access to system data or internal storage. Cant basically do anything. Tried to wipe, repair or change the system files but failed. There are few soutions how to fix 'unable to mount system' in TWRP but they dont work at all cause there is no access to the phones storage. I was trying to wipe it through ADB but failed to go through "error: device <null> not found. Is there anything I can do at this point or is it bricked?
Hey,
Look up putting your device to EDL mode and flashing the stock image through the USB cable. It has saved me from far worse situations.
Good luck! Report your progress.
