All I really want is to enable my back button to serve as a menu button so I can get rid of the black bar. If I could add some settings toggles to the notification shade too, great, if not Power Toggles is working just fine. I like Sense 5, don't want to get rid of it. I don't want a heavily modded rom. Just want something as fast and stable as complete stock with the ability to add the tweaks mentioned above. I searched around and couldn't really find the answer, so if anyone could point me in the right direction, that would be great.

Patience. These things will come that I promise but they are not here yet. Give the devs a few weeks and you will be rewarded

I have no problems waiting. I always have a hard time finding what I'm looking for on XDA so I wasn't sure if it was just me being a derp about the search or if it really wasn't out yet.

I know there's some similar functionality in some previous Market apps, but this sounds closer to the CM6/7 implementation of the notification power widgets. Still not exactly the same but perhaps closer. This is one of the main reasons I use CM ROMs, but for those who want to use AOSP or even 2.1 but miss the notification power widgets, maybe this app will help.
I haven't tested yet on the Eris, and I don't know if the app's "all in one" notification will work on our phone, but whoever tests this first please let us know.
It works but not a fan of it. Takes up to much screen space on the notification menu.

+1 on that, the notification toggle is what sold me on CM to start and keeps me coming back. it brought me back from a brief period using xtrSENSE, and is currently the main thing keeping me from going whole hog on the recent AOSP builds.

I was afraid that would be the case. Thanks for your input!

I did the same thing, I went back to xtrSENSE briefly after some frustration with Froyo, then GB became useable.
I'm on AOSP (paranoidandroid CM9) in tablet mode, and what I find most annoying is the notification bar...to access the toggles you have to click one time to make the notifications appear, and a second time to access the toggles...is there a way to make the whole thing appear with one touch ?
Using stock AOSP - there is no way to do this. You need 3rd party mods.
Thanks for the answer..I don't know how the guys at google thought it would be a good idea to do it this way.

True, especially that it's a tablet UI which means...lots of space on the screen.
Well, I'm just starting this thread cause I cant post in the One Android Dev forum. How do I even get access to post replies in threads there? How do I report bugs and have requests or questions answered? Kernel options was removed as they dont work on the new base, there is an option to have the back button to double as the menu. But why was the dock transparency option removed as well? Is there a problem with it too? Will there be a fix for it?
You need 10 post in Q&A or general section.
After 10 post you can post everywhere.
However, there is a FAQpost in trickdroid thread.
For kernel, custom kernel will work on new base.
The option for back button there is if you, during aroma installation, have choose remove 3-dot menĂ¹.
You can do trasparent the dock with a modded zip.

Yea....the back button is not much of a problem for me. But can you point the direction for the transparent dock. I'm tryina make my own custom lockring. I succeeded on my one X, so i'm gonna try on the one too. 10 posts?! Alright then...
Find it hard picking up calls as I have to key in my pin before i'm able to answer. Is there a way to get pass that? I'm using the aosp lockscreen. Does that affect how I answer calls?

That's what happens when you go aosp lockscreen on a sense Rom. I know some custom roms on my old phones had a fix for it. I'd just go back to sense lockscreen if I were you. In my opinion it looks awesome compared to aosp.

Would it make a diff if I checked the box to disable exchange security? I had configured my work email exchange and it prompted the pin is needed. Its a hassle not being able to see who's calling and having to swipe and enter the pin first. I liked the AOSP cause I like to make my own custom lockring.
Hey guys, just wondering what process would I follow to add the nav bar to the note 4. I know its gonna be a waste of screen real estate but I really prefer the nav bar over having to reach the physical home button.

I would really like this too. Unfortunately I have only been able to get it by either (1) using AOSP/CM roms, and (2) using Dynamic Kat rom. DK is the only Touchwiz based rom that I have seen with the feature. It works, but it is not customizable and does not utilize the swipe up "navring" feature.
There are some apps that mimic the navbar, but they don't work well on the Note 4 because they just put the bar on top of other screen elements (apps, home screen) instead of pushing everything else up.

have you guys tried adding this line in your build.prop?
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
Can you edit the build.prop on an unrooted phone?? I was just looking for info on this too.
Can you give any more info on editing it?
Thanks!

no there is no way you can edit system stuff without being rooted. You have to be rooted and then using any root explorer, I like solid explorer, you can edit build.prop. qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 can go anywhere in there so just add it at the end of build.prop
I just found this thead. They seem to be saying its not possible as the UI elements for the nav bar are not included in the OS.

I've tried the buildprop edit but when I reboot it shows me a SYSTEMUI CRASH and I have to revert back to my nandroid backup. I don't think there's anyway around it being on a rooted TW Rom. *Hyperdrive ROM
Any other way to get the NavBar with a TW featured ROM?

Same. It just constantly force closes if you use the build.prop method.
As I stated previously, you can use Dynamic Kat rom which is Touchwiz and includes the option to use on-screen buttons.

I see it was reported by those who have 5.0.1 touchwiz that navbar soft keys are possible on that build so you'll have to wait for tmobile to release it to find out
I use Pie Control from the play store. You need to swipe in the the sides or the bottom to activate it. There are a lot of options for customization as well. It also makes one handed use much easier. No root required.
I stumbled across a custom quick setting app yesterday and I thought it was worth sharing. It's kinda limited at the moment but you can change tiles, hide status bar icons and enable percentage in the status bar battery icon.

The app does allow you to add a custom tile though, which is more than you can do with the system ui page. Hopefully it gets more features soon.
I'm on stock and neither of these work for me.

Did you hold down the cog at the top of the quick settings pulldown, if it's active you should have a little spanner next to it.

Yeah holding down on the settings great does nothing for me.
I need to get did of that stupid do not disturb option that's there.
Very annoying

Dunno what in doing wrong all I gotta do is hold it. Weird
Worked for me although I had to try holding the cog down twice before it opened up the options in the settings.thanks for sharing the secret!

make sure you hold it down in the center of the cog and I would give it like a good ten or twenty seconds if need be. Mine took two tries and then it worked perfectly.
Still no go..
I'm using a rro layers theme but don't see how that can effect it.
You have to hold it down for a while. I did it for 10 seconds.

Makes no sense why this doesnt work for me..Guess I'll just wait for the settings in a custom ROM or something.
The cog actually spins under your finger, use a stylus or something that will allow you to see the cog whilst you press it.

Do you have a little wrench near the cog? If you do, it's already enabled. Then, go into settings and scroll to the bottom.
ill give it a shot but none of that is there...no wrench and no action when holding.
also make sure you dont have animations in dev settings turned off. animations must be on for it to work.

You dont actually need this app. If you hold down the gear in the top right of the drop down for about 5 seconds it will have a pop up saying you enable the additional settings. there is additional menu in settings now. Best feature is being able to see battery percentage.
