Anyone else prefer Beats Audio OFF? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I find the sound clearer and crispier in my car with the beats off.

i guess u have problems with your hearing. just saying lol
i can, in every way, deny that audio is better with beats off.
UNLESS,
you're using a third party player

Maybe it's because you have the hissing background noice when beats is enabled. The 1.29 update fixed that (I guess, have notreceived it yet)
But in general, I don't think beats off is better than on.

Definitely sounds better with Beats On IMO. I had hissing audio until I turned NFC off. If I use it in my car through Bluetooth, I turn the Car Stereo EQ off and leave Beats on.

Hell no beats all the way

With speakers or earphones, i Think beats benefits the Sound...

hmm, could be my upgraded fender's bass not working well with beats...

I've noticed that the volume level is louder with beats disabled, but to my ears it definitely sounds better with beats enabled.

I find dance music sounds great with beats on but if you put on rock/indie music it's better to switch beats off I think it sounds better. I've downloaded pro player so I can have the sound that suits the music I'm listening to, much better imo.

I used to but beats in the HTC one is great.

referencing the speakers on the phone, with beats on, the sound is more full and stereo imaging is greatly improved. with beats off, i've noticed it's louder but a more harsh and tinny.

[Request]Beats Audio Software?

Can we port over beats audio to this device?
Voodoo is all we need. Poweramp helps a bit too. Beats is just a marketing name that has no real advantage. Trust me you don't want what they got.

I think its more hardware than software. If possible would be outstanding.

Yep...GUI might not appealing to most though.
I think personally with voodoo controls and my beats earbuds it sounds better than my cousins iphone4.

We want beats audio lol. Would like to try it on NS.
My HP touchpad has that stupid Beats audio and it sucks. My Nexus S with sony headphones (MDR-ex300sl) and Voodoo + DSP Manager sound wayyyyy better than Beats.

No "we" don't. Beats is nothing but anecdotal garbage.
All "Beats Audio" is, is a multiband compressor much like all the other "audio enhancement" crap (i.e Creative X-FI Crystalizer, Alpine's Media Expander, Sony's DM+ Advanced, etc), making certain frequencies louder at the cost of others. Which incidentally reduces both clarity and soundstage. Unfortunately, human hearing can sometimes perceive louder volume as better sound.

Particularly in the case of beats, and bass is pumped up at the severe cost of mid and high tones. Which is why I don't use my wife's beats headphones.

NS w/Voodoo is better than Sensation w/Beats. I can't wait to come back to Samsung.

I don't know .. i think maybe i'm doing something wrong .. when i plug-in my Nexus to the car via AUX cable then the bass is so hard .. treble is good then i plug-in my friends HD7 with SRS on and it's SOOOOOO much better or is it just my placebo?
I have Voodoo installed with the bass boost on :S

Beats audio and Brivia Engine

Just wanted to know what so special about beat audio and brivia engine?
See a lot of ROM devs using these and have no idea what it offers.
Beats audio = great sounding music ... Not so sure about the bravia engine tho

i have something i want to share and i think its worth throwing out there:
i have spent the day researching beats and what beats actually does for HTC devices in general. honestly, i can now say that i have no urge to pursue implementing beats into the rom. the next build will be removing beats and adding in performance tweaks instead. here are a few of my reasons below:
1. beats ONLY works with the HTC music app. i would rather use google music/pandora for my music.
2. i would rather use an EQ tool and have an enhanced sound across the whole device and not on just the music app
3. based on various items i have read from several different sources, beats is just a gimmicky bass enhancer. nothing you cant get from a decent EQ.
in my research, its not worth it.

Brivia Engine don't know.
Isn't Bravia for better pictures?

I never used EQ on my devices and never ever used the stock head phones that come with the devices either.
I prefer my own headphones rather then the crap you get with the phones. Never used by BB headset or my SGS headset and don't like the Raiders headset.
EQ is a gimmicky in my opinion that is not needed with good headphones.
Beats audio = Cool boot/shutdown animations.

Voodoo sound vs beats audio

Thinking about flashing beats audio. I already have voodoo sound.Which the difference detween them? Which is better? They are both sound amplifiers?
I dont know whether beats audio works on 2x but voodoo does work. Plus DSPManager along with Voodoo makes music complete. One more PLUS LG'S default music player is very high audio quality music player with lib dependent HW equalizing unlike other players which uses cpu for DSP.
So in summary,
LG music player + voodoo + dspmanager thats way enough for an ear

Now i'm using audio beats with boose and i have to say that i feel the difference between before (using vodoo sounds^^). Finally i think that audio beats is better...it's my opinion of course.
My vote goes to beats audio.
of course voodo sound, beats audios take no effect=.=
Well, manage to find working dsp manager.. my settings:
1) v20q rom+stock kernel
2) beats audio
3) dsp manager: bass boost moderate+rock eq
Results: Listening to Metallica, and surprisingly superb..
Wish Jason Newstead's bass sound a bit clearer..

Listen Metallica"s "fixxxer" or "the memory remains" for real deep bass. Jason newsted was a great bassist

According to supercurio, The Creator of voodoo, he said beats makes no diferrence, he measured it. Also I would really believe something really optimised to our phones, to our hardware.
Anyway, if beats do something(which I dont believe), it would be just some software enhancement like equalizer or anything faulting the clearness of the sound.
Just my opinion based on my logic.

I think its not which one is the best.. its about which is convenient to users. For me, the Beats Audio advantage is we dont need another app to configure it, as Voodoo we do need the app to activate it.
Just flash Beats Audio, install DSP Manager and find your settings. (To me, its simpler)..

I'm using power amp as that mixes beats and equaliser settings to amazing effect. I just tweak it when I'm using the phone speaker.
I love the app Noozxoide EIZO-rewire PRO and have used it ever since I discovered it.

Audio mod idea question.

I haven't had this phone long enough to really dig into the is, but I am wondering weather or not it's theoretically possible to keep the boom sound headphone amp, but remove the stupid beats eq, I love that beats raises the volume of my cans, but I can't stand that it screws with the eq levels, and would like to use my phone without having to flatten the sound manually with power amp
