On a mac, to execute commands in the terminal you need to preface the command with this ./
For you, it would be ./fastboot oem get_identifier_token

I DID that but now im getting "No such file or directory"

There is no need for ./ - install using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1917237

Got another problem.
When the phone is on, I can give commands via the command prompt (reboot etc works)
When in bootloader it always says 'waiting for device"
I've already relocked the bootloader to install the firmware

c:\adb>adb devices
List of devices attached
FA35MW903859 device
c:\adb>adb reboot bootloader
c:\adb>fastboot reboot-bootloader
< waiting for device >
-> after reboot I do get a windows message saying devices not recognised, wierd. when the phone is on i can get an adb connection, but not in bootloader
EDIT: when the phone is in bootloader I find an unknown usb device in device manager, i'm going to install those drivers manully there.

[SOLVED] HTC One can't unlock bootloader

I am attempting to unlock the bootloader on my HTC One. I am using the HTCdev method. I get to the step where I have to type "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" into cmd. cmd returns the following:
sending 'unlocktoken' (0 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.143s]
writing 'unlocktoken'...
(bootloader) unlock token check successfully
OKAY [ 0.008s]
finished. total time: 0.151s

However, my phone stays on the white fastboot menu and doesn't shift to a new prompt.
Other possibly relevant information:
HTCsync doesn't recognize my device at all.
My computer DOES recognize my device, however, as it appears as an entry in device manager.
Typing "adb devices" into cmd returns a list with nothing in it, so adb is not recognizing the device either apparently.
Thanks very much to anyone who can offer help.

''adb devices'' only works when phone booted into OS or in recovery. In bootloader mode, use ''fastboot devices''.
You device should be listed as ''My Htc'' in windows devices manager. If not, your drivers are probably not installed.
Is this a GPE htc one?

Thanks for replying.
Yeah, "fastboot devices" turns up one entry just fine.
Yeah, there is an entry called "My HTC" under "Android Devices" in my devices manager.
No, it's not the GPE one.
Problem is still unresolved, thanks to anyone who might have advice
Let us see..

Haha, actually, I think I may have just figured out the problem...I got the phone from ebay and I think it already must have had bootloader unlocked. I just flashed a recovery and it worked, so I think I just successfully rooted it...
Kind of embarrassing.
I will change the title tag to [solved] as soon as I confirm.
Sorry for being a noob!
Edit: Figured it all out. Got it rooted w/ s-off. Now time to try flashing a rom...thanks all.

Hey there
Im new to this forums and im a huge rookie with all this rooting stuff.
In fact ive been a few months trying to unlock my bootloader with no results. My problems started when i decided to install minimal ADB and fastboot, i finally got my identification token and i was able to submit it to HTC dev but as i used the minimal tools instead of SDK i have no idea where to place Unlock_code.bin, ive tried placing it on the minimal tools folder but the command prompt doesnt seem to further than
sending 'unlocktoken'

using minimal adb and fastboot doesn't make any difference, did you follow the instructions on the HTC Dev site to unlock your bootloader ?
also the unlock token you get goes in the same folder as adb and fastboot, and the command window must be opened there too, phone must be plugged into the computer and in fastboot mode.

[Q] Desire 510 problems!!!!

I have a problem with trying to see the phone in cmd. Fastboot goes fine it connects I have all drivers on still nothing works at all. I can't figure it out cause I need to get rid of this bloatware.

I'm sorry but you'll have to elaborate on your problem. Are you having trouble using adb in cmd? As in no devices list when you type adb devices but they do when you type fastboot devices ? You may need to check what you downloaded/installed and make sure that the folder that it downloaded to--that you've cd'ed into to use adb/fastboot--does contain adb.exe. I suggest this installer straight from Google. Also, adb will only display/connect devices when it's not in fastboot mode.
idk
I'm having problems with getting my token code to unlock my boot loader thru HTC but I downloaded the right software and it does recognise the device as adb but when I go into cmd prompt and type fastboot oem get_token_identifier it's not recognized and doesn't do anything. So I'm stuck on getting my token for htc

Moto G 2014 Soft Bricked? TWRP Error.

Hello everybody, im pretty new to this site but i heard a lot of good things about it and im wondering if you guys can help me out.
So the other day my sister's phone wouldnt not boot properly, i was able to unlock the bootloader but when i went put TWRP on the device i get this error:
C:\Users\pc>fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.6.0-titan.img
error: cannot load 'twrp-2.8.6.0-titan.img'
On the actually phone it self i get the error cmd: getvarartition-type:recovery ( The right there is just : p )
If there are any other details that you guys may need to help me out just let me know.
Thanks everyone!
Okay so i got it to work sorta... When i typed in the command correctly it came up on the phone with a few commands
cmd: getvarartition-type:recovery
cmd: getvar:max-download-size
cmd: download:00812000
cmd: flash:recovery
But when i go to push recovery it goes to the bootloader screen for a second then goes to a dead android guy that says no command. Any help?
Are you sure you have the TWRP image in the same folder as Fastboot ? If not you have to specify to Fastboot where the image is.
