I installed a modified original CM 10.1 rom by OP from thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2209580
it says it supports a2sd in the settings (attached screenshot), tried to click on a2sd information button but it says "error loading A2SD information"
I tried flashing the INT2EXTV2+ script in recovery it didnot work my screen freezes and I had to remove my battery to start again
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124
Then I tried flashing the INT2EXT+ script in recovery it ran without any problem but still i could not see my sd-ext partition
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2146688
so i flash the patch, now I am able to see my sd-ext parition with space details (attached screenshot)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1863876
now the problem is how to get my a2sd working, is there any scripts that I need to flash again or do I need to mount the /data /system......manually, I guess that is what those scripts were for right?
Please help me I cannnot figure out any heads or tales of this thingy, I recently rooted my phone so kinda new in the game
any help is appreciated

Hi all,
my fist post on xda and a noob as well with my first android.
I had someone do my first root and put GEOs rom, as i wanted close to stock to learn android some more, I now want to jump on your rom. the A2SD version
so I try to partition SD card for A2SD+ through clockwork. Then download your rom. By rom manager.
before flashing rom phone info shows (android version 2.3.3 GRI40) and then after flash showing (android version 2.3.3 GRI40) ?
how can my phone be the same rom version pre & post flash with out doing nand back-up?
as that must mean I must have screwed up after flash ?
do I flash this as well ? GRJ22 system dump (boot.img/system.img):
if I do do I flash rom first or system dump first ?
as well not positive when partition SD card for A2SD+ through clockwork that it did partition sd card right way?
I am noob to use ADB and prompt commands and my micro sd slot on comp is not working
is there android app to partition SD card and or check if partition worked on sd card ?
sorry for long post
can anybody help
PS I am trying to flash this rom
[ROM] [GRJ22] N1 2.3.4 OTA ROM v5 (deodex, root, zipalign, busybox, A2SD, TBAlert
thanks in advance

If the custom ROM you flashed is base on the same Android version than it's still gonna be the same Android version.
What does the "MOD version" say?
You can partition SD card using CWM or Amon Ra recovery. This is not an app, it's your custom recovery. If I'm reading it right you already have CWM recovery.

I am on GEOs rom Gingerbread 2.3.3 (GRI40)
and i want to flash this Gingerbread 2.3.4 [GRJ22] the App2SD one from this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13430563&postcount=1
I went in to recovery to CW via rom manager and then run partition tool in
recovery, but when trying to DL a APP that needs sd card to be partitioned
it fails to run. saying sd card must be partitioned first.
so I take it CWM recovery failed to partition my sd card and I cant figer out how I my rom version stayed the same after coming out of flash ? with out having to do a droid back-up if I screwed up the flah process? afrer trying to flash a 2.3.4 rom. that is App2SD supported rom.
If you were trying to flash another ROM and it fail to flash for whatever reason, than you're still running your
current ROM. That's why when you left cwm and booted up, it just went back to whatever you had already.
Basically it never got to a point of writing anything, it did some check and found you didn't have correct partition
so it probably aborted.

ok but status bar in recovery did its thing for around 5 minutes with no error message. So I take it CM recovery cannot partition SD card properly ?
is there away around it besides CW recovery and command promts via sdk on pc. like a APP?
or even a APP to check if CW is Partitioning sd card Properly ?
thanks for the help
ClockworkMod recovery should be able to partition your card without an issue. When doing it, it will wipe your card, so make sure everything is backed up. Pay attention to what is on the screen when you do this. It will show you any error messages that may occur. So, if you didn't see any error messages, your card should be partitioned. Same goes for when you flash. It should show you why it didn't flash (assuming it didn't).
You can use minitool partition wizard on your PC and it will preserve your data without wiping it out like Gparted/Unbutu.
To check your partitions download terminal from market or use adb and type
Su
Busybox df -h
It will show partitions fat, ext and swap sizes.

I had problems partitioning my SD card with CWM or rom manager... Installed Amon Ra recovery and first time I tried partitions were set
Hi guys,
My sgs is running stock android 2.3.5 (JVT) and I had rooted it using cf-root and applied lagfix (ext4).
I wanted to apply the ICS custom rom, and that required me to convert back to rfs from ext4 (remove lagfix?)
I also saw that I needed cwm recovery so I downloaded the cwm rom manager shortly before attempting to convert back.
I don't know what has happened - but when it converted back to RFS and my sgs booted up - all my apps are gone except for a handful!! It says that nearly all of them are on the SD (missing icons) - clicking on them says application not found. Even the market and superuser has disappeared but "cmw", "tweaks" and "ext4" are still there!
I think using the ext4 manager - it may have booted into recovery mode using cwm and this has screwed something up.
I've tried unmounting and remounting my external memory card and restarting my phone, but to no avail
I've just rebooted into cwm recovery mode (v3.0.0.5) and it says checking for ext4 partitions........... does this mean that the conversion was not successful!!?
What should I do? I have stuff on my phone I don't want to lose and I want to get my apps back.
Not sure what to do right now... please help! By the way, it's my birthday tomorrow and a solution would be a really nice present
Thanks guys.
before i go any further on my phone please help me :
this is what i did :
1- i partioned my sd card be 4ext recovery choosing 512 on 1st and 2048 on second and 128 as swap and finally i chose 3ext
2- then i downloaded darkmetor a2sd ind installed from recovery (during this my rom was normal cyanogen0
3- then i flash medroid 7.2 based on cyanogenmod rom which supports a2sd (before that i wipe cache and dalvik)
4- then when i rebooted twice manually i saw that i still have insufficient storage
so i fully wiped and instal darkometor script again and now i already rebooted twice but when i download internal decreases , i tried typing in terminal emulator su the a2sd reinstall but it failed and it said that a2sd seems not too be booted at startup , i dont know what im doing andwhat to do anymore , please help me and guide me
Your setup is a bit off; try this:
1) I highly recommend you wipe everything (backup apps with Titanium Backup) and start over fresh. If not, you can still probably continue.
2) I would also recommend that you make the EXT partition size bigger, about 1gb. And try not to use swap (set it to 0). It has no positive effect on performance, and some rumor it can harm your SD card over time.
3) Try another script. Scripts like DarkTremor, S2E, and others have issues where the device will say low memory when the partition is only half full. Try this script (flashable in recovery), I HIGHLY recommend it; it mounts the EXT as internal and works really great. Link:

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any other questions.
not sure why you installed 4ext recovery then installed DT--4ext has worked quite well for me, Amon_Ra for a very long time before that
you only need 1 sdext for CM7
as mentioned 1gb and 0 swap
if using DT you flash CM7 then flash DT beta4 before rebooting, maybe even gapps between CM7 and DT--see what OP says on what's included
install Titanium Backup then just a couple apps like Term Emu if it is not already installed
then run your scripts thru terminal emulator
a2sd reinstall
a2sd zipalign
a2sd noswap
a2sd cachesd
phone will reboot after reinstall and cachesd or should--
some people reboot once right after first boot before doing anything else
most people are using sd ext4 not 3 atm, as far as I know
ken
As CSP said, you should make 1st ext bigger than the 2nd one. I even don't recommend you to make 2nd ext partition, very rarely rom that require it. Choose 1GB for 1st ext, skip 2nd ext, and skip swap. But if you want to make 2nd ext, try 1GB for 1st ext, 512/256 for 2nd. Remember to back up your sdcard first.
Before flashing the rom, try to wipe all partition except sd card, find it on recovery menu. You should flash the rom first, then flash the a2sd script. From your post, I see you screwed up the order.
To run the script, after rebooting and setting up, if you use the latest DT, type "a2sd reinstall" in terminal. I also usually run "a2sd cachesd" to move dalvik-cache, "a2sd zipalign" for alignment purpose on boot-up.
Add: Arrgg, rugmankc beat me
i did as u said , specialy moenexus but i got permission denied in TE and it didnt work
can you open and use Titanium if not you may need to reinstall Superuser or add TE to your Superuser list--in its' settings
ken
Thanks guys it worked using the script that CSP recommended , thnx to u all

If you want to use 2nd partition of your sdcard(ext-sd) for apps and games or move data2ext-sd use latest Rafael Baugis kernel with CWM5 because when you make backup you can restore it when do you want, and his kernel with stock recovery(3e) can't backup/restore ext-sd even you use temp CWM5 :| . . . I hope you understand what i told you . . .

Try recreating mount scripts..and Relink everything
GT S5830i-Rocking on Broadcoms gpu...
Open up link2sd and hit your menu button then go to more
-Recreate mount scripts
-Restart phone
-Relink all application files
-Relink all library files
-Clean up the 2nd partition
^^^ Do that in that order and it should fix your problem
- If it works dont forget to Thank me :silly:

hi
Im having a lot of problems with my phone, I tried to load a new ROM, and I cant!!
Im using CWM 6.0.2.8
when I boot up it says
Cant Mount Cache/recovery/command
Cant Mount Cache/recovery/log
Cant Open Cache/recovery/log
Cant Mount Cache/recovery/last_log
Cant Open Cache/recovery/last_log
when I do a factory wipe, it gets stuck on
Formatting /cache
When I try to wipe/format the cache partition, it is the same story.
When I try to install a new rom, I get
image attached. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. Also some of my root software is corrupt.
What do I do?
I think I had same problem, wiping the cache part took quite long, but I eventually was able to install my new rom... though all my apps are still there, but at least part of the new rom is there (custom nav bar)
pretty much the same errors I got
ps: you're trying to flash cm 10.1, do you have a kernel for it ? read somewhere you shouldn't use CWM for flashing cm 10.1 with kernel ...
found it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167381
[ known issues ]
adb doesnt work in recovery (can be fixed)
USB storage doesnt mount in recovery (can be fixed, i think)
formating data partition WILL FORMAT THE INTERNAL STORAGE (FIXED IN v02)
external SDCARD is required to take backups and flashing ROM (FIXED IN v02)
do not use this for flashing CM10.1 (u will need to use the CM kernel for that)
that's what the link says, you need CM kernel for it
