Playlist "Album Art" - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When using the stock music app, it always takes several seconds to load the "album art" (for lack of a better term) that displays beside each playlist. Is there any way to turn this off? It's a bit disconcerting to have to wait for ten or fifteen seconds before you can play any tracks. Thanks in advance.

Change shuffle order?

Has anyone else noticed that with either Windows Media Player or the HTC Audio Manager, it will always use the same shuffle order? Doesn't this defeat the purpose? Anyone know how to get it to "reshuffle" with every play. I am getting tired of hearing my play lists in the same order everytime.

Amen, thought I was the only one who noticed this!
Yes, surprising isn't it. Even a using a search on all forums didn't turn up this same question. I think this is true for Wondows Media Player on all devices, or at least the one's I have owned. Would be nice is HTC could provide a shuffle option that actually shuffles with the Audio Manager. Perhaps they should call it "Reorder" instead of "Shuffle".
Just searched and this is the only thread I could find on this problem.
My media player doesn't actually play the library in folder order, but seems to shuffling only a few songs on the list.
Is playing them from the library the only option? - you can play only one song at a time when accessing the music folder with windows explorer.
to "reshuffle" have you tried turning off shuffle, selecting another track, playing it, then turn shuffle back on.
Thanks for the suggestion - yes I've tried that, but it just seems so hit and miss with the Windows media player and the shuffle play seems to repeat a few tracks too often.
I've now installed MortPlayer and it's working great, so I'm not going to bother with the WM player now.
Thanks.

Yes, this is my half baked solution. I just scroll down and start a few songs later in the list as it is sorted via the playlist. It still does not "shuffle" though, just puts me at a different point in the (properly termed...) reordered playlist. If it's a short playlist though, you will figure out pretty quickly that the songs go in the same order every time, you just started at a different point.
In computing, the random doesn't exist, we can only approach it by simulating.
You won't never get a "real" shuffle. When you select this mode in WMP or HTC audio manager, it follows an algorithm, that's why you always hear songs in the same order with the same playlist. The best way is to change your playlist.
I hope this explanation is helpful and clear, and if somebody can give us more details on the subject, don't hesitate (I like learning more and more )

I hear what you saying regarding computers not being good at random, but I can tell you that this MortPlayer is doing a damn fine job of it.
I think that these workarounds with the playlist are a poor reflection on WM media player - I have about 1.5G in my music folder and MortPlayer can shuffle the lot without the need to first create a playlist.
I didn't say that you need to create a playlist. On the contrary, more the numbers of songs is high, more the order in which you will hear its is changing, because the probability of finding the song "m" on a sample "M" diminishes when you increase "M" ( "M " can be a playlist or 1.5 GB of songs)

Flipping Album Art

Hi all,
This probably has a really simple answer but I am baffled...
When I first got my diamond I could flick through the album art.
Since then I have been listening to one of the albums.
How do I get it to go back to the album list so that I can flick through all albums again? I seem to be only able to flick through song in 1 albumn i selected :-(
Thanks in advance,
Darrell
Hi, choose 'library', then the icon on the far right (all songs) then go back (up) and all your music is there again.
nope...
Hi,
thanks for the reply, but that did not work...
on my TF3D screen I can only see the art from one album (the one I was playing last). Flicking simply flicks through the songs it that album.
Selecting "all song" and then "up" simply goes back to where I was before I did that.
I want to be able to go back to the "top" and flick through all the album art (just like the demo video from HTC quite clearly shows - even in the video clip on the device).

As far as I can see, it is not possible to flick only through albums. On TF3D screen you always flick trough songs. In TF3D-demo-video is always only one song in a album. So that suggest you to flick trhough albums.
Or am I wrong???
go to "all songs" and activate one song. go to tf3d and you are done.
Yes you can only flick through songs. Although it may look like you're flicking through albums.. If you're trying to get all your songs/albums back on TF3D, go into Library > All songs, and start a song from there.. it will bring up all the songs in your library into TF3D's music plugin.
thanks...
thanks...
that is what I was looking for

dunce... flash player in froyo usage

I just don't get it.
It plays videos but I cannot get it to interact period.
Most videos I have encountered on the internet will pause when clicked.
I cant' 'tap' on the video to pause it and I cannot interact with the seek or buttons on the player either.
Simply put, the 'container' with the flash player in it never takes the focus.
I can tap the screen twice to get the phone to center on it, but that's it.
What am I doing wrong here?
Is it meant to be non-interactive on phones?

Jump to next song without delay

Hi
I got the HTC One and I am using the default music player right now. I have a few albums in which every song continues where the previous one stopped. When I listen to them on Winamp (PC) it sounds like I am listening to one track instead of 10 separated songs. But on my HTC One there is a little delay between each songs and it also kinda fades in and out. Is there a way to disable this?
And I have another problem. I don't know why this happens, but whenever I copy a new song to my phone that doesn't has a album cover it automatically uses a picture of me as the album cover. I have no idea why this happens, because the picture it uses is not even in the music folder. My HTC One is updating the pictures, but I have also some unknown artists on my phone and I fear that my picture will stay on them.

try any other app like PowerAmp

Walkman App

When you're on the main now playing screen, is there any way of accessing the rest of an album? Like on an iPod you can click on the album art and it brings up the other tracks you have in that album. I know you can go to search and then find the album, just wondered if there was a quicker way? I think pressing the album art in Walkman just brings up favourite, add to or the button that links to the song on Youtube.
Also, is it normal that when clicking on an artist in My Library, it takes a fair few seconds for their albums and songs to come up? Shouldn't this be instant?
Click the Queue button top right (next to the album title).

If you're using an SD card it may be a slow card. Get a class 10 card (minimum 10mB/s non-fragmented sequential write speed)
Try NexMusic. Best music app I've come across so far. You just swipe to the left on album art to get to the song list.
Developed by a fellow xda guy Btw.
Hey, I really like the walkman app but I seem to have a problem. After syncing with Media Go (or transferring the music files manually), I noticed that some of my albums are not displaying their album art properly. I used a third party tag-editor software on my PC to make sure that all the files have the proper album art, but the Walkman app simply does not show them.
Media Go and Windows Media Player has no issues. Shows everything properly. Is this a problem with the app? Is there anyway to fix other than using a tag-editor software?
EDIT:
Force stopping the app and/or clearing the cache solves the problem. Now my collection is just as it should be.
