[Q] strange thing with network... - Galaxy S III I9305 (4G LTE + 2GB RAM) Q&A, Help &

Noticed that with all CM 10.1 ROMs... When rebooting, it takes about 5s to widget appears and 15s (or more) to network appears and I wonder, is it normal? I'm coming from Nexus 4 phone and there is no such problem...

it is.

No problems with Samsung based ROMs, so I won't use CM 10.1 ROMs for now, unfortunately!

okay. just curious though, why are those 15 seconds such a big deal?

Because (think) it's not normal. Am I the only one who has this "issue"???

you asked if it was normal, I answered

Yeah, it's ok. I am one in a million, obviously!!!

uhm, no? I said it's normal. for everybody

It is normal even for sammy based rom. Just dont look at the screen for first five seconds
Sent from my GT-I9305 using xda app-developers app

On Sammy ROMs, it takes about 2-3s to load widgets and network together, but ok. I can see this topic is useless. :silly:

Samsung loads many things on load screen
CM 10.1 allows you to use phone asap

He complains about CM takes awhile for widget loading, I explained reasons.

I see, you should've been more clear because it looked like you said the issue is not present on CM

It's only a doubt..
The phones like Galaxy Nexus and Iphone when you press the unlock buton don't slow. Instead the galaxy plus (at least mine) takes half a second to turn the screen on.
There is any rom there to do it faster?

Fast and stable android?

Greetings!
I am wondering which is the most stable and fast release of android for the TP?
Tried to run Oats Light CM9, but it crashes several times a day
AOPK milestone 40 works best for me. The rest seem to have issues on mine with Flash and static in the sound with the screen off.

The latest "nightly" (8/19) of CM9 is rock-solid, has the important fixes for battery and wifi, and has no lag. I keep thinking that I will try OaTs CM9 ROM but this one works well enough to hold me over until a stable and complete CM10 is available.

Well you won't need to make a decision anymore because OAT discontinued his rom.
Both AOKP and Oats seems to be gone, as I said. If anybody has links to respectively build 40 and 08/29 release pm me
I don't know if this helps, but though build 40 is no longer on goo.im, rootzwiki has an unofficial milestone 6 build. I found this on the AOKP thread here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/16983-aokp-tenderloin-june-24-build-40/page__st__640#entry795085.
As for OaT, he requested that no one mirror his ROM after he took them down.
EDIT: fixed link.

Please read the following!
- This ROM is "Untitled" because I haven't figured out a name yet
- No screenies until confirmed that it boots, etc.

-Everyone who tests WILL GET CREDIT! I PROMISE!
- I will complete this thread once this ROM is for sure working.

This ROM is themed, completely de-bloated. No signs of Sprint bloat at all. It is running STOCK KERNEL. I will change the kernel once more development starts.
The only reason i need this tested is because I took themeing into my own hands, and im a noob with theming. So if it works, awesome!, if it does not, ie. boot loop, etc. Then i will be back at the drawing board!

Considering that some people who flashed AOSP based roms ended up with hard bricks, I would advise against flashing AOSP based roms. However, the choice is yours.

In the past months is a fairly broad net. It seems to have quieted down as of late, but as always it's a "at your own risk" sort of deal. It certainly doesn't hurt to check some of the suspected problem spots if you do flash though (such as your proc min/max frequencies).

Nice job...I didn't ask the initial question, but hopefully your find will help the inquiring party.
At the moment, I'm not on Slim, though I am watching their progress daily.
Unfortunately, I didn't see a solution to the posted question. The Android Central link had a guy posting that he was afraid that someone was monitoring his device. The xda thread appeared to have a few posts referencing the issue, but I didn't read far enough for a solution.
Anyway, I hope this issue gets resolved.
