Stock android? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've tried searching the forums and such for information but stock android and aosp returns so many results that aren't relevant so I figured I'd just quickly ask here:
Is there a stock rom for the HTC one yet? Like just stock 4.2.2 android?
If not, are there plans for one or is there a limitation of some sort that would prevent it?
Thanks much.

There's stock roms for 4.1.2 but htc has not released 4.2.2 yet

Yeah I know. I'm not complaining - I was quite literally just wondering if I missed it somewhere.

An early alpha version is out if you are into that, although most of the stuff aren't working.

Thanks for the replies. I'm pining for my Nexus cause I miss my stock 4.2.2. I'll hold out a bit and wait for an AOSP rom. This phone is just too gorgeous.

Best ROM for PDroid? With close-to-stock experience?

Hi folks,
what's currently the best ROM to use PDroid on the Nexus 7?
I'd prefer an experience as close to a stock ROM as possible. It seems that 4.2.1 ROMs are out (not supported by the AutoPatcher), and I've tried to patch a few of the 4.2 ROMs floating around and haven't had much success either. Who is currently running PDroid and what ROM did you use as a base?

AFAIK opensensation2 has pdroid installed
You haven't had much success because development was dropped a long time ago. It only supports gingerbread.... sorry bud. I loved pdroid too

I should have clarified that I'm using PDroid 2.0, which is under active development for Jelly Bean.
Thanks for the tip regarding OpenSensation. For the time being I now patched a vanilla 4.1.2 AOSP build (4.2.1 is being worked on). Will look at OpenSensation these days.

Well I don't have a Sensation... and OpenSensation for the Nexus seems to be pretty much in beta... not to mention that the OpenSensation developer has been warning people that his server is compromised and that they shouldn't download anything (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35428325&postcount=9591), so I'll be taking my time with this.

Noob question about using roms

I'm sure someone will be able to answer this super easily.
I'm new to rooting and ROMs, I just rooted my 4x hd yesterday and after being blown away at how easy it was, I'm now considering flashing a rom.
I've read around that you can get things that let you select the rom you want on boot. I was wondering if I could do this with the stock rom and cyanogenmod?
Do I have to partition the internal storage or something?
Also I'm pretty sure when you flash a new rom you loose apps and other data but can someone confirm this for me please?
And one final question. What's your favourite stable rom for the 4x hd? If I am able to switch between ROMs like that, I might add another I want to get close to vanilla if I can.
I am on version 20a stock rom android 4.2

No, you're on v4.1.2 if you're running stock ROM. But you could have found all those answers by searching first.

[Q] AOSP 4.4

Has anyone tried compiling 4.4 with the current device trees? I've been told by a few people that it works for the most part?

Maybe will come out more roms when the update for the GE will come out

There is only one rom available in 4.4 right now, as far as I know, and it's for the Nexus.
i know a few teams are working on it but nothing workable yet

Stock Android 4.3 for i9305

Does anyone know anything about android 4.3 for our SIII LTE?
i9300 had android 4.2.2 even though it was a leak and now they have 4.3 but there has been no leak at all for i9305 even though it has better hardware and came later than i9300.
I'm also waiting for it in here, the stock customized 4.3 since I don't want to use the custom roms as it contains bugs. Hope it can be shared here soon.
The stock android 4.3 for i9300 rolls out. I hope for i9305 arrives soon...

Thx
Let's hope for it i'm sick of 4.1.2 but i like 4.3 and since 4.2 wasn't launched because it had some minor fixes 4.3 would needed to be launched because it has few major updates.

There are just a few changes. I don't know, but i could live with 4.1.2 if I would'nt use CM at the moment. I'll give stock 4.3 a try but if it's not a faster fw than 4.1.2 is won't use it. I don't like the new settings menu and knox

:laugh:Well 4.3 offers approx. 20 changes in compare to 4.1.2 . The one I like best is the ability to move apps to sd card. Amazing function. Also, multiple lock screen pages with widgets on the lock screen,is also amazing feature.
Camera has been improved. Settings menu contains tabs...I truly like the 4.3
But,honestly 4.1.2 has been very very good. :good:
Looking forward to the 4.3 update but even more so Kit Kat
If you want stock android try CyanogenMod 10.1 (4.2.2) is rock solid. As are the nightlies for 10.2 (4.3).
Much better than Samsung's bloated iteration of android imo.
Also they sold way more i9300s compared to i9305??

CM10.X roms are solid, but not as solid as Stock roms. Even if they're stable they still have bugs, lack fearures and some things won't work properly, like Camera quality, which I find much much better on stock roms, specially the video recording quality, and overall sound and battery experience is better on stock roms.
If only AOSP roms could work on our devices the way they do on Nexus devices... blame Samsung for that...
I so much agree with @KillEmAllx as I also prefer a customized stock rom over custom rom as despite of custom roms having plenty of features and improvements still the countable bugs are those more usable one like camera. Hoping for i9305 in the near soon.
in my opinion,Android is born for rooting, for flashing and for customize roms, especially here with so many geeks.compared with all the new features in customize roms, little bugs are totally receptable.

I´ve installed Liquid Smooth 2.37 ( Android 4.3 )
and 4.3 it´s working fine ( almost no bugs and no crashes )
you can give it a try
LiquidSmooth is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project!!!
No based on stock ROM!
Does anyone know if either EE (Everything Everywhere) UK or Samsung publish an Android update schedule or roadmap for the i9305 ? If so could you please post a link?
I don't want to root if 4.3 is in the pipeline.

Removal of Gapps (question)

Forgive my ignorance, the past few days have been my first introduction to Android & I've been trying to figure this out.
Is it possible at this point to load a stock OS on this phone without Gapps installed?
Will I have to wait for an instance of TWRP to be developed for this phone to achieve that?
Thanks.
Edit:
Should I just return this phone while I can & get something else with a bigger community & official support for Lineage or Graphene? lol
what have you got at the moment ?

If you're only after AOSP then you should look for other phone. It doesn't look like we will get even debloated Samsung stock rom any time soon.
But it's still cool phone though.

Thank you very much, that's how it was seeming digging through here but I couldn't find an answer quite so straight forward.
