Hello all,
I bought a 1000ma Samsung Galaxy Wireless Charging pad and the charging dock.
Both are rated at 1000ma. I modded the pad to fit my xperia Z since last week.
What I noticed is that the battery heats up to 43.8 Celcius while charging and then the screen turns on. I could see the notification on the status bar saying "Please unplug to save energy". I believe once the battery overheats, the phone stops itself from charging. Then it takes awhile to cool off and it charges again and the cycle continues.
Is there anyway to remedy this?

I recently got a wireless charger for my Droid Turbo and have noticed that once full the phone keeps connecting and disconnecting, It almost seems like this is by design, it is so uniform, I just want to make sure nothing is wrong with my charger or my phone.
Are other people having this issue?
Android's built in battery monitor resets when I take the phone off of any charger, so It does not show this.

My phone does the same thing, so I am assume it is by design, but if anyone else knows more, I'd love to hear from them as well!
Yes, that's how all modern devices with chargers work. Once it becomes fully charged, the idea is you take it off the charger. If you leave it sit on there, though, it's going to harm the battery if the charger keeps pumping electricity into it, so it stops for a while. Once it hits 98-99%, it's no longer fully charged and begins charging again. Obviously this isn't the best for the battery longevity either, so again, you should take it off the charger once it hits 100%. But the behavior you're seeing here is normal.
The only issue I have is I have a custom sound through Xposed module for when I'm wireless charging and not. Helps to know when you hit the Qi pad "sweet spot". Or if I accidentally move the phone off the sweet spot and it's no longer charging (but I want it to).

Somehow my and my wife's LG Nexus 5 is smart enough to stop charging on the Qi pad (when battery is full) and NOT trigger the custom ON/OFF sound -- because I did NOT remove the phone from the charging pad. It still stops charging and starts recharging, periodically but until I PHYSICALLY remove the Nexus 5, it does not chime. It KNOWS the difference between me moving the phone and the battery's automatic circuitry. Or if I put the phone physically back ON the pad, THEN it chimes. But if the Nexus 5 battery charging cuts off/on by itself, it does not trigger the notification.
Yet, with my Moto Maxx, when the battery gets full, CHIME! A couple minutes later, CHIME! A couple minutes later, CHIME! (off, on, off, on, off, on). Very annoying. LG somehow is smarter so that doesn't happen.
I sold my Nexus 5 a couple of weeks ago, but my wife still has hers. On our living room and bedroom charging pads, I see the comparison side by side ever day. Same Xposed module, but Moto stupidly thinks I've "removed" the device from the charging pad when it stops charging the battery because it's full. And then starts back, and then stops.
So i've had charging problems on and off for a while but last night was weird. So I charge my phone on my 2.0 car charger but the battery percent goes down, then i get home and attach it to a 1.2 wall charger that usually will charge it. I wake up and my phone is completely dead, i did check the icon and it was charging when i sat it down.. I then disconnect the charger and plug it back in, after about 10 seconds the screen changes to a charging icon on the black screen.
I can maybe understand an app draining my battery or maybe my car charger not putting out enough, but for it to not charge when it dies is strange.

Check what mAh it is pulling in when charging. Download "Ampere" from Play Store. It will also tell you how much mAh is draining when it is not plugged in.
I had the same problem when I had damaged (cheap) usb cable.
try to change it.
Also you might have dust in your phone port. try to clean it carefully. (youtube videos should help with ideas how to clean it)
Hi xda devs, I need some help for my Xperia Z3 compact. I disabled the slow charging (from about/status) but it still charging very slowly and it shows "slow charging" in the lockscreen when i'm using my phone while charging.
build 25.5.A.1.291 (Android 6.0.1)
thaaaanks :cyclops:
Are you supplying enough power? My phone charges slow from PC but fast from the old Nokia charger I use (via magnetic adapter).
There's absolutely no problem with the power it's 1000mAh. But I noticed that reaching 1000Ah takes a while at the beginning when I plug the charger.
If I let my phone alone it reachs easily 1000mAh but when I'm using it im on 800mAh. I also noticed that when i'm charging my phone while using it sometimes it gets heavy and crashs.. I never noticed that kind of problem before..
So I slapped on the wireless charging style shell and put the phone on a wireless charger before even turning it on for the first time. The screen lit up and told me the phone was charging with the battery at 66%. I let it sit for half an hour then check it again by tapping the power button. The battery is now at 58% and falling. So much for that. Phone isn't even on and the battery is being used instead of charging the device.

Mine works fine with the tumi battery mod.. I'm using the Samsung fast charge wireless charger
I have the wireless charging mod and it charges fine.. not as fast as my s8 but good enough.
I was listening to music on the JBL mod with the phone plugged in. I took the phone off the chager and left the mod on. 10 minutes later the phone was at 98% from doing literally nothing. Typically I lose about 1% every 2½ hours when then phone is on standby. I'm guessing the mod is trying to charge itsef using the phone.
I have the Moto Style Shell with wireless charging and use a few different wireless charging pads (at work right now and have the LG WCP-300) and have had no problem using any of them. You might want to go into the Moto Mods Manager and check if there is a software update, my current software version is 0.55. If you software version is up to date then maybe a restart of the mod is necessary.
I have a strange problem with Dash Charging on my phone. When I connect the dash charger the blue light comes on and I get the bolt symbol. After a minute or two the blue light goes away and the lock screen does not say dash charging anymore. The notification icon however still shows the bolt symbol. If I keep the charger connected the battery percentage just sits fixed and does not advance.
When I remove the charger my battery will keep at the same percentage for a long time and then starts depleting. I feel like the battery is charged and it's only an indication problem.
This is a brand new phone with an original charger, I went to the retailer and he even changed the dash charger and cable and I get the same behavior with the second charger and cable set as well.
Additionally, if I charge with a regular non-dash charger my phone charges just fine. I get a red charging light and the charging percentage advances normally.
Please advise what to do?
