Probably not if it's a fake
Just out of interest, what does it say when you go into Settings - About - Software Information (and more tab)

Perhaps if you got bootloader unlocked you could flash custom Rom to get sense 5

Go to setting>about>phone identity
put model number on here. or you can send these info like model number n IMEI to HTC support ask if this phone is legit. Hope this helps , good luck.
P/S: install Antutu benchmark and run the test, let's see how it perform..Did it identify your phone as HTC One or not? Stock HTC ONE run between 15000 to 20000 scores.
tbh, they sent you along that phone with Beats headphone, that is so dam fake. LOL no freaking way they gave you free Beats headphone...thats like $99 to $149 a piece Beats headphone.

It's fake but looks good it has 3 fiscal buttons

That is 4.2. Wow! A fake has a higher version of the OS than the real thing!

Maybe someone could have Rooted and Custom Rom'd it? ? ? Can you post all phone identity info? Serial? ETC ETC? Another way to check. Goto Envirofone or mazumamobile or something, post the IMEI as if your selling it and see if that comes up with HTC One or anything else? ? ?

Mazumamobile cant found.
Now what do you think guys?
Is it original or fake android 4.2.1 OS.
Can i install sense 5 ?
Im so confused..

Is your phone aluminium or plastic? Im guessing if its fake they would not go through the effort of making it out of metal.

I could not decide :/

Tap it gently with a Metal object, this will tell you if its Metal or not. . . ? If Envirophone and IMEI.info has come up with HTC One, im guessing its not fake, Call HTC Customer Services and they'll maybe be able to check against IMEI. Another thing, Go into bootloader, See if it says Tampered / Unlocked, If so my guess is its been rom'd. Turn off phone and hold down 'Volume Down and Power Button) to turn on, then release power after vibrate this will load bootloader screen ... ... Let me know the Result?

Antutu benchmark test results
Is it good news?

Thats why i check 100 times now before i share it
Recently saw on ebay very cheap mobo.
sorry to hear that fshami you are good to devving on this device
I just can't understand how this happens!
I installed on my device tons of unsucssesfull ports, crappy ports that i was working on, but in the worst scenario it freezez at HTC logo...
It should be a way to unbrick it, there is a way, as for jtag, there is a hard way... You need to dissassemble the phone, find the real JTag and flash the ROM directly to the memory, this usually renders the phone antenna useless on many phones, but there is a way. If the computer detects any activity of the phone when it is connected, then there should also be a way to revive it (there is one on Dell Streak 5, there was one on Nokia N95, and there are for many devices, those 2 are the ones i tested). Don't know for sure how to help, but i'm sure that something can be done, and changing the vold.stab through adb doesn't seem like the thing that will brick your device...
Just for the info, did you guys used S-OFF or not? , if yes, what variant of it
P.S: There is always a way, don't be lazy to state: srry, change mobo, as long as the physical parts ar intact, there is a way to unbrik it (i don't have a bricked phone but i will look into it)
There no other way to wake it up. Cuz this bricking the memory on mobo. That i hear fron my friend who's working in htc poland service.

Well, i really believe there is a way, as i don't think a software thingy can physically damage the memory of the device in such a way that it renders it useless, htc service or not, i'm a skeptic
Also, could you please tell me if you used S-OFF and or what variant of HBoot (1.25 or 1.28)
NOTE: I sent a PM to AdamOutler regarding this issue, he is a specialist in unbricking devices, so, we will know if something can be done, maybe he will need a device, a bricked one will do i think, so if some of you would want to send him one, if he accepts to work on it, it would be nice

Just as i thought... Because when you use S-ON you need to do some things from fastboot, and fastboot is pretty nice interface to brick your phone.
Because of this, use S-OFF, "God" made it for a reason

Maybe AdamOutler will like to give it a ride, if you would like to send it to him, if he accepts to make some unbricking thingy.
Or you can give to HTC and i will write a big HEADS-UP on my multi tool to warn people about possible bricking when using S-ON.
I had something similar last week. I have sent my phone to HTC for repair. My phone is 9 months old. I will see what HTC say about warranty.

It doesn't really make financial sense to have the early adopters be able to get a plain Android experience. I mean we already gave HTC our money why would they provide a "software switch" and risk having brick several devices. And I'm sure the carriers won't allowed either.

If it was released by HTC it wouldn't brick our phones.... Also why wouldn't the carrier allow it? They have nothing to lose from it. And lastly, the stock android One is the same price as the one you would buy from sprint or att off contract.

I've always remembered basic updates Froyo to Gingerbread bricking phones and having carriers pull it afterwards. Even recently T Mobile had to pull the LG L9 update to jelly bean.
And I'm sure the carriers wouldn't like their bloatware being removed.

The IR blaster would work actually, it just wouldn't come with a dedicated app for it.
Three of those items, camera/video mix/Zoe are the same thing considering all of that is in the camera coding.
So your list boils down to two things. No flip board and waiting for HTC to modify their camera software.

I`am super happy with the One running ARHD 12.1 and stock kernel. Ruuning smoothly and fast, good batterylife and great radio reception. Maybe you have a somehow faulty device.
I think he's just trying to stir up trouble, as it would be extremely unlikely for all of these things to happen, no way would his battery be draining that badly, and he keeps mentioning the S4, so just leave him to it

2- in my findings phone A is not more likely to scratch then phone B. Its all based on time, use, situation and pressure. If your Optimus was in the situation the One was in then it would have scratched as well.
3- this is a network issue. Me and a friend with an iPhone were in a low signal room. She has AT&T I have T-Mobile. I started receiving double texts from a friend she didn't. A few minutes later she started receiving them as well from different people. Its a network issue plain and simple. Likewise with your second post I would get a new SIM it sounds like it may be detective.
4- if its really broken (only use the official HTC charger and cord to test) contact seller/HTC for a replacement.
1- being an all metal device the One has higher standards then a plastic device. The 'defects' the One has such as gap are still well below the tolerances used for plastic devices. Even with all that the build quality is still leaps and bounds better than 99% of android devices. I think your feeling is based on your other perceived issues.

First off all
I always had a good signal never problems somehow now he even doesnot wanna connect I putted my SIM card I'm my other phone and it worked so that's number one.
About my usage I'm really secure and look after how I'm using them my optimus black has fallen 3 times really bad but not scratshes with no gorrila glass so thats just weird for me.
About charging I always use the one of htc.
And my battery life is no 4 hours my bad sorry it's 8 but it's still lower than first (ididnot upgrade to 4.2.2)
And first I could minimum 14 hours
At least Idunno if the black one is better build maybe I could change it to that version.
And just about HTC one people Iknow face problems to it's just I don't wanna buy a phone For 550 euros what has this problems it's just not acceptable that's my opinion because idont wanna send my phone back to a service center and wait 3 weeks or a month For a new one or fixed .

ok lets come to the point. I saw reviews and all on the internet about the boom sound and the phone being very loud.
but i used those 2 phones and i dont find them loud or near loud. Its even lower than average sound. My 2nd phone iphone 4 is louder.
Does that means my htc is faulty or is it just me. i dont even use it anymore because it makes me sad that i have spent 400 quid on something that let me down on it.
i tried to reset and reinstall the software but the sound is as it is.
AM I WRONG?
Is the "Beats Audio" turned on on the main settings menu? It's a night and day difference if that isn't on.

The sound on the One is considerably louder than that on an iPhone. If beats audio is enabled and it is still quiet I would go back to your supplier as it would appear your device is faulty.

The most important thing I see here is that you paid more for a silver one than you did for the black, that's just plain wrong. Comments like this amuse me. You pay £400 for a second hand phone and you don't even use it simply because you don't think the volumes loud enough? What is the world coming to!!

Yes mate i paid a high amount because that phone wasn't easily available in the country where i bought it from lets say there would be a 100 pieces in the whole country at that time, and this phone had a lot of value. The black one dsnt looked so good when both of them placed side by side. i would change it again for the red one lol. The world isnt going no wher just because i dont use my phone because i think it isnt loud enough,
Lol at surround comment, beats does nothing of that sort.

which should i try? put it on charge for a few days or "try holding the power button and volume down buttons down, while holding the proximity sensor directly under a very bright light..." ? ._. i thinking to send it to HTC, but i still confused how to explain my htc one problem, does it really will cost for this kind of repair?
Try both maybe holding it u dear the light method first then try charging for a few days

QHSUSB_DLOAD is Qualcomm High Speed USB Download mode. It is how HTC puts software onto the phone. A few phones have came back from in with no explanation as to why, but most are hard bricked. There is no know fix other than sending it to HTC. They will replace the phones main board and reflash it. It is not a warranty repair, so you'll have to pay for it.

btw if i send it to HTC for repair how many it will cost? hmm, i just thinking, about giving another explanation to htc when i send it to him, if i say "it has bricked after a few minutes since i update from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2" does htc will trust that? if htc doesnt trust that, how htc know if my phone already unlocked and tampered? because the phone doesnt want to boot at all ._.

There is a reason every developer includes a disclaimer with their software. You chose to unlock the bootloader, you chose to run modified software, and now it falls on you to accept responsibility for a bricked device. HTC may fall for that line, but I doubt it. The 4.2.2 updates been out for a while now and there have been no reports of it bricking phones, where as several devices running custom roms have had this happen. More than likely HTC will see through the bull**** story. But who am I to be your moral compass? Go ahead and give it a try. Let us know how it goes.

i think i wanna to try that, because if the repair cost over $50, i think i will be really confused to consider repair it nor not. btw if i buy JTAG, how much JTAG and other thing i need for it will be cost?
oh, btw if i send it to HTC and give a bull*** story, and he's not believe in that, then i need to cost for the repair, probably how much it will cost for the repair?

I've heard different reports of the cost, but its always over $200 US.
I wouldn't recommend JTAG on the One. The body is almost impossible to get apart without damaging it.

The phone retails for what? $600? $800?
$200 to bring it back from a hard brick is not surprising, especially since HTC seems to be the only ones capable of this....

I have no idea, luckily I've never had to send a phone to HTC. Like I said, all you can do is send it in and see what happens.

Well your One is basically a fancy paperweight the way it is, and if they'll do it under warranty great. Two months is a long time, but at least its not $200.
