hi im trying to figure out what to install on my brothers xperia TL. i want to install a deodexed stock rom preferably the lastest. so that he can tether and get the reboot options for the power menu. i've looked around but everything got confusing with all the fw numbers. he is rooted locked bootloader ICS currently
if you want a deodexed rom you need to check the development thread. Xperiment is one for the TL, but mine should work as well.
Or you can update via pccompanion and deodex it yourself in dsixdas kitchen.

The current safe ICS roms are not touchwiz based, so no premium suite.
You can either flash a pre rooted rom or downgrade to a directly rootable rom if you need to in order to gain root.
To flash a custom rom you will need to have root, unless you use PC Odin to flash it (not recommended)
Otherwise i'm not entirely sure what you are asking.
Edit: Looks like Official ICS is rolling out, So I guess its a question of do you need root? If you need root and want ICS go for a custom rom, If root is not required then go for official.
look here pre rooted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535025
i need root bt
is thr a possibility of having a prerooted ics rom (tw based)
i hv another question since my software version is nt directly rootable ...so if i downgrade using odin...flashing ny rom like cm9 wd require me to use odin...or i can use moble odin??
i apologise for my lack of tech related knowledge
I have installed a custom rom to my xperia x8, i think its mini cm9, and the phone is crashing and slower than replay..
It takes approximately 10 seconds from the moment you touch the app drawer icon to get inside the app drawer..
I've tried all wipes and still no difference..
I'd like to revert back to the official rom of the phone and i would appreciate your help in doing so..

use pc companion to restore it into official rom..eclair
Flash using flashtool the E15 Stock Rom/Kernel .ftf file, it's simple. You'll get all the factory back, without root. I think it's the easiest way... You could find this in the Android Development section, just search and you will find.
Thanks mates for all your answers..
Is there a difference between pc companion and tsuarwr's way?
I think i have cyanogen's jelly bean custom rom for x8.. Do i need to do anything before using pc companion, or i can use pc companion right away?

Trust me, Flash is much more faster then using pc companion to revert to stock. And, man what you wanna do? Restore to the stock or install a cm JB rom? by the way, read this carefully:
First: To revert to stock, flash back the old e15 using flashtool, you can find it just searching around development section.
Second: To install a Jellybean you need a Jelly Bean kernel, you won't run a jb using stock kernel (sony ericsson one), use a kernel like nAa-jb or oxydo. For a ICS rom, use a kernel compatible like nAa-ics or alfs-ICS. Don't try to install a rom (even jellybean or ics) on stock kernel, just use eclair (stock) or Froyo (FroyoPro is one good) or Gingerbread rom.
Hope help you.

hi, i'm trying to deodex xperia t ( rooted using doomlord easykit, locked bootloader, cwm installed ) using instructions at this thread
i am on JB 4.1.2, build number 9.1.A.1.141, stock kernel 3.4.0-g5b052b2 which is the latest for my phone as there is no update showing in update center. so should i do instruction no.2 ( "Make sure, you have latest JellyBean kernel from Sony (or latest kernel from DooMLoRD) installed" ) or skip that part ?
i'm a newbie to this page, so cant post there. replies will be highly appreciated, thanks
hello everyone, I just flash stock 4.3 rom via flashtool
but I'd like to root my stock rom instead of flash any other rom with any fix or tweaks...
Is there any way to make my stock 4.3 rooted?
Thanks, and forgive my poor english besides, ha
Only if you unlock the Bootloader. And even then you must still slaughter a goat at fool moon.
To my opinion best is installing 4.12, root, CWM and then installing a "root-upgraded" 4.3. The Nordic one is available in stock condition afaik.

I don't think so, it's 4.12. Either you stick with stock based 2.5, or you go to KK.

Hello mate.
1) On the title you are say that you want to install custom roms for unlocked bootloader, so i suppose you are talking about roms like cm11 etc.
In this case you don't have to root your device because unlocking your bootloader and so flashing a new kernel and that kind of roms most of the times are pre-rooted.
2) You can access the recovery mode by using the UP volume key.
Some custom kernels, such as the one from DooMLorD have integrated 3 recoveries, so you can use the Volume UP key, the Volume Down key and the Camera button. Different buttons have access to different kind of recoveries.
3) You have to try and see the rom that suits you more. Some users prefer cm, other stock roms etc. The only solution for you is to try and find the one you like more.
4) Last but not least ----> Don't flash kernels from other devices to your phone. Only if the kernel is developed for the Xperia V you can use it.
Kernels are device and firmware specific.
You can't install a kernel from the Xperia T to the Xperia V and you can' t install a kernel made for JB 4.1.2 to JB 4.3
Hope these tips can give you a hand

It is usually the best for those who do not wish to experiment, and it's like a big box of pralines with 3 or 4 pieces inside we really like.
I like pxb mod with loud speaker fix
