you need to do "Factory Reset" using Recovery mode.
To activate Recovery mode: Power off the phone, reinsert battery, press and hold "VolUp+Home+Power"
Navigate using VolUp/Down, confirm by Power button

Hello,
I just bought my GN, and I tried to flash to version 4.0.3 of android through Odin 3 v 1.87. Unfortunately, the flash has blocked the file Hidden.img. I then tried installing different versions oldest and most stable wipe or no wipe or anything but it is still blocking hidden.img to making my phone useless.
More recently, I can not even to flash, the phone switches itself off and ...
Basically, I need help before throwing it!
Seb
Remove battery out for few minutes n reinsert n try to enter in recovery mode, if you get into recovwry, clear cache, delvic cache, wipeoff data

you got stucked at hidden.img because you was flashing sammobile leak with 32g.pit file, you need to flash with 16gb.pit file from chineese leak, try to go in download mode and flash with 16gb.pit
Now I have the problem of GN which turns off and turns on every 3 seconds!
Therefore impossible to flaher.
Yet I remove the battery for 1 h.
go back to official firmware. Not worth to flash first ics leak.

Hi and sry if my post is like many others, but i need strait answers for my particular software version.
So i am running Galaxy Note N7000 is rooted and unlocked with Galaxy_S Unlock apk i think (was locked on SRF France)
Android Version :2.3.6
Baseband version :N7000BUKK1
Kernel version : 2.6.35.7-N7000XXKKA-CL726566
[email protected] #2
Build number :GINGERBREAD.XXKKA
My question is:
Can i upgrade the software from the phone menu Software Upgrade? it is always asking me if i want to install or not.
Can i brick my phone using this method?
If i manage to get ICS on the device will i still be able to use unlock .apk on 4.0.x ?
I use vodafone romania sim
Should i use Odin or Kies or phone upgrade from menu?
Ihave downloaded all the stock roms for my country and carrier (Vodafone)
BTW mobile odin said there is something wrong with my partition, and emmc check will leave black screen and crash after a few seconds (is this something to be worried?)
What method do you guys recommend ?
Thanx in advance !

from the phone it becomes OTA and lot of chances that the phone gets screwed up

if emmc check crashes or hangs that means there are corrupted blocks.

it is best to upgrade via odin .. then comes kies but i am not sure if installing it will lock ur device again.

So i should go ahead and put the stoc ics firmware for my country and update with odin over my rooted gb 2.3.6, no harm will occur?
Should i put the .pit for 16GB when using odin or just put the fw in PDA and hit Start?
I asked if the unlock apk is compatible with ICS also...but i will find out soon )
Thanx
Just read first line on my signature and flash ICS using Odin
I recommend go clean(first wipe cache and data before flashing ICS) and don't wipe once you are on ICS stock kernel
After this find second link on my sign and use method 1A/1B to root.
No need to use pit, though detail instruction is there on my thread

Let me get this right:
1 go to CMWR and clear data and cash, then exit, reboot
2.go into download mode vol - + home+ power
3 connect odin and select the rom into pda
4 hit start and let it do its job, it will reboot into the new ics after that.
then my phone will probably have ICS running but no root and so i cannot use unlock apk, only if i IMEI unlock it so i can stay on stock all the way.
So after i flash stock ics using odin i shall never do a hard reset on my phone even if i do not root it?
thanx for patience and help
correct me if i am wrong at any steps.
thanx again

1. yes You are on GB ROM, so safe
2.OK
3.OK
4.Not probably but it will boot to ROM which you have flash.
If you have network lock, then you have to Root your device to unlock it.
For that use 2nd link on my signature to root it.
Again here one more thin i have to clear
If you select ICS 4.0.4 to flash, then direct network unlock won't work.
For this refer to 'Toolbox' in my signature and follow tool No 18 and then 17
In case of 4.0.3, Tool No 17 only will be fine.

Should i flash Hydracore v5 kernel with odin after my odin upgrade to stock ics just to be sure that no brick bug will happen to my note if i ever do a HW reset?
Yes safe kernel always safe.
Flashing kernel with Odin raise flash counter.
You can flash phillz kernel (which is also safe) from stock recovery. If you want to flash hydracore or any other later you can flash with phillz recovery without raising counter.

can you enter recovery (vol up+menu+power) or download mode (vol down+menu+power)?
if you can get into recovery, do wipe dalvik->reboot and tell us what happens
if download - flash your country's whole rom with odin and start again

Still problem with booting
I have tried to flash many different firmwares. ODIN says green but the phone does not boot. Just the first logo or Samsung with some animation.. than it gets stuck there. ADB does not work then either.
I have tried to root and wipe data with different ODIN, but nothing helped. TWRP is not present on "download mode" either..
On ODIN3 v3.07 I see there there is a tickbox for "NAND ERASE ALL" but when I have it checked it fails or hands on erase state.
Could you please help me what I can do next?
I would like to have complete firmware and root and install TWRP etc. but I need to get booting up ok. I have already 15 on "custome binory download"

after flashing.. remove / replace your battery..
try booting in recovery by pressing vol up+home+power at the same time..
then scroll down to factory reset via vol keys..
wipe and restore factory settings..
Hello, all!
I'm with my note getting some problems... It'snt charging... It's a problem at the connector... So I still have samsung warranty till nov 22th. I will take it to the samsung assistance. But I'm with an Paranoidandroid flashed in my note. And now I have to downgrade it to a stock rom before I take it to assistance.
How can I downgrade from PA 4.3 to Stock 4.1.2? I've already downloaded stock 4.1.2 ZTO (Brazil) from sammobile.
wipe data and cache.. then boot into download mode and flash a stock rom using odin.. check in download mode if the counter is 0.. thats all

Hey, man... I got a smsung logo boot loop.... What can I do? Any Idea? I've already reflashed the rom...
EDIT:
Recovery mode saved me...LOL... Wipes after flashing resolve the problem!
I keep getting infinite bootloop for my Samsung Galaxy Note N7000
1) Can't boot into Recovery mode
2) Can boot into Download mode
What i had done before bootloop
SuperSU ( i forget what i had press...it shows me TWCM&ASOP or normal use, i think i was crazy and go and press TWCM&ASOP...it ask me what ... i totally forget...and can boot into recovery mode... and it ask me to reboot...then i reboot...DONE! infinite bootloop!!
After bootloop...i think i was almost crazy again ( boot into download mode)
1) try to flash CWM through Odin V3.07 (Odin show pass...but i still can't boot into recovery)
2) try again..flash CWM through Odin V3.07 (with nand erase all.. voila...i was crazy to do this and didn't check what is NAND ERASE ALL....)
3) OMG... bootloop again...
fine.... i was almost heartbreak and going to knock the wall soon...
what am i gonna do to save my phone :crying:
Congratulations. You now have a paper weight.

note ( recovery mode change from CWM to Samsung recovery mode) << i think it has been unroot since i flash the official firmware?
Download PhilZ kernel zip file, 5.08 or other version, then flash it using stock recovery. Then boot into recovery. You will have PhilZ kernel. From there you can flash do clean to install, then can flash custom jb 4.1 rom in zip file.

The stock ROMs are here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Get your stock ROM
Download mode on phone
In Odin select PDA only and the stock ROM from above forum
Flash and wait a while.
Hopefully you have a working phone again.
Shalom and good luck, John
