So I've received my HTC One and I am extremely pleased with it, there's just two questions that need clearing up for me.
The camera lens cover is a bit tilted. I have no idea if the actual sensor is also tilted or if it isolated to the glass. It seems off to me but does not seem to impact image quality, but should I get it replaced?
The camera also seems to make some sort of a click noise when I start it. Is this normal or is my One further defect?
Thanks!
U not the only one man..till now I still don't now is it a factory difect or what.

That's not right. Get it replaced.
I always have this purplish hue surrounding the edges when in the camera app. It's specially noticeable when I'm taking pictures in low light.
Plus when I cover the lens with my hand, rather than going black. It becomes red :/

I have the exact same issue in low light. Would be great to hear if that's normal for most or not.

It's an already known issue, has to do with the sensor being extremely sensitive. No need to worry
My brother has the One as well and it doesbt happen to his one. Plus when I do side by side shots of the same thing, his Camera takes better crisper pictures :what:
Just got my HTC one (blue best buy version) and aside from the top of the screen being a hairs width higher than the top speaker grill, it seems perfect. No camera issues (pitch black laid on a table), no apparent gaps in the plastic surround, and no other defects I can find. Anyone else care to sound off with hardware version and any defects you have?
4 and not any that I have noticed

I was almost positive there was a 0003 but I could be wrong.
0004, Mine is from launch
0004 and the only complaint is thecamera. That was against my hand so its purple but at night, especially outside, it is a very noticeable blue. Plus the very noticeable "blocks" are pretty disappointing. I also have a problem with most pictures coming out blurry, has a small focus area that is clear and everything else seems faded.

4... I have the red one. No camera issues and everything fits like a glove.
Well seems like there's probably only the 0004. So much for my theory that maybe that had anything to do with anything. I wish there was (or maybe there is) a way to see more detailed build date information. Maybe that would shed some light on things.
Got mine about three weeks ago.

Not to discredit your complaints. They're real issues. But are you sure the focus issue isn't related to depth of field? It's especially exaggerated on the f/2.0 aperture of our camera. But there are others too that confirmed it's a real defect, almost like the glass is out of place in the lens.

This is mine. So sick of it.

Have 0004 and have a very tiny gap, screen isn't flush with the grill, but not by a lot and my camera has the annoying blue and purple colors in darkness but I'm not complaining. 4.3 is supposed to fix the camera issue so we'll see what happens.
The picture is the camera pressed against my palm.

I have 0004, and I don't have any camera problems. I do have the bottom-speaker-louder-than-top-speaker issue, though. I've also noticed that the bottom right of my screen is slightly warped inward, because the plastic on the bottom-right of the device tapers its width down slightly. But that hasn't caused me any problems.
I do have some of those aluminum-plastic gaps that some have complained about, but those don't really bother me. I keep the device in a case most of the time, anyways.
Every other little flaw (lackluster graphics performance, popping sound when WiFi is enabled), I feel, is the fault of software, which will ideally be corrected, if US carriers ever give us non-rooters 4.3.
Got mine on launch day and it's been perfect! No rough edges, no gaps (at least from what my naked eye can see), no sound or connectivity issues. My experience had been excellent. This device will encourage me to keep buying and supporting HTC devices in the future. Attached a pic of my camera held up to my palm. No odd coloring at all.

My purple issue is very bad, am also on 0004. Took it to sprint, and I will be getting a replacement on Thursday, hopefully this one will be purple camera free

Mine against my palm. Wonder why some have that color issue?

I've only seen 0004.
I was showing my friend some of these pictures, and he said that it looks kinda like a pinched/damaged LVDS cable. With the way everything is packed so tight inside modern smartphones, and especially the One in particular, this sounded plausible to me. It does go against HTC's theory that it is a software issue, and I hope for the sake of those with issues it is just software. What do you guys think?

I noticed this morning the balance sounded off, my bottom speaker also sounds louder that the top. Is there a easy way to fix this?
0004 launch phone. Only complaint is the purple or red in low light camera shots.
A few days ago I received my ONE back from repairs. I had the purple tint camera issue. I am not sure what happened, but first of all I noticed a stuck pixel when turning on the camera and covering the lens. I didn't have that before. Another I noticed, which seems strange to me, is that on high brightness black seems to have a slight purple tint. I put my old sensation and a tablet beside, it just doesn't look like black. Unfortunately, I know no one with an HTC one to check.
Can you guys tell me how your black is on high brightness? I'd appreciate it. I had to wait 3 weeks for the repair and I am not really in the mood to send it back in.

Hi all, until yesterday I was really happy with my moto x since everything was working fine and I haven't had any problem at all with my phone running official Android 4.4 kitkat, BUT yesterday one of my coworkers bought himself a moto x just like mine and I was just explaining some things about the phone to him until at one point both phones were side by side and we opened Google.com website on the chrome browser and I noticed that my screen looked yellowish compared to his when displaying a white background like on google.com website.
The thing is that I set the brightness of both moto x to the maximum and still when both phones were side to side showing a white background my screen looked more yellow than his, the "whites" on his screen seems more bright and white than mine.
So, my question is if anyone here has the opportunity to have 2 moto x compared side by side, can you please open google.com website (or any white image) and tell me if the screen on one of the moto x looks more yellow than the screen on the other moto x?
Cause I need to know if this is maybe a common thing that can happen because not all the displays are exactly the same or if maybe my phone is faulty and I need to take it to the service.
And if you happen to have 2 moto x 's screens compared side by side with a white background, can you please be so kind to upload a picture here so I can see it?
Thanks a lot in advance for the help!

It is normal screen variation. I have two Moto X's here and one has the more yellow screen. for some stuff it looks very nice, for other stuff I prefer the less yellow one. I do find the color saturation is not as pronounced with the yellowish screen version which could be a plus. I have compared 4 phones total and only one has had the more yellow screen.
Lol. You were happy until you compared to another x. What is the big deal? Oled is like in its 3rd or 4th gen iteration and there is still a big disparity in display. If it really bothers you that much stay away from oled. Its reason like this oled prices will be artificially high.

I fail to see your point. I just got done RMA'ing two nexus 5 phones and one screen was very yellow on white screens while the other, while still warm, was whiter. So it's not just with oled screens. It's annoying to me that most screens are a lottery and it's not fair to the customer. I would be unhappy about this too

Ok, thanks for your answer! It's not that I'm unhappy with it, in fact I didn't noticed this until I compared mine with the other moto x from my coworker, and it's only noticeable with white backgrounds like I said.
I just wanted to know if my phone was actually faulty because of this or if this kind of things are normal and that on the same phone model the screen differs on the white calibration or something that makes some of them more yellowish than the others..
Since you have 2 moto x, Can you please when you have the time upload a picture of the 2 of them side by side with a white background so I can see how much do they differ?
Thanks a lot in advance!
PS: so in your opinion for some stuff you prefer the yellowing screen and for some others the whiter one? That's interesting...

There is variation in between screens. We are getting consumer grade stuff. I am willing to be the Korean and exynos models of note3 have a lot less variation and higher binned screens. My exynos note2 screen is still fantastic to this day and makes me hesitant to sell it. My note3 has some very minor flaws but it doesn't bother me. My glaxy nexus was pretty good but yellow. My sisters galaxy nexus was two toned. Brighter on top than bottom. Also was darker overall. My nexus one looked great besides the awful and I mean awful over saturation. I would consider two tone screens that are noticeable on any type of contrast being displayed or stripes or smudges that are noticeable on non display/test calibration type stuff to be defective. My note 3 is much whiter than my note2. My note2 definitely has a yellowish tinge to it but it also much brighter and the auto brightness limiter is less noticeable on note2. It is definitely a YMMV.

So just noticed the screen STILL has grain to it. If you look close it looks hazy and grainy like film grain. You can see it on whites easily and in lower brightness.
I wonder if Samsung can ever fix this.
Also the screen has lines on it on low brightness on grey and white areas. Also very annoying.
Anyone else notice this?

Yes. I noticed this all the way back to the S2. I was actually wishing they would go with an IPS screen for the S5.
Yeah this is annoying me to no end. The note 3 had it worse since it was bigger and had only 1080p still. Honestly I love the screen colors and such but my eyes are really sensitive to all this and I am a photographer and work with calibrated devices all day :/ I'd what to do. I'd go with the m8 but the phone is way too big

I don't know what to tell ya. It's bothered me, but its one of those perks that comes with Super Amoled technology. :/ This is why I prefer the iPhone's screen to amoled.
Damn Samsung lol. My girlfriend hates that I swap phones so much lol but I just paid 700 for this and I want to be content... guess I'll wait a little and see how I adjust to it

It's a sacrifice to have infinite contrast? I had the M7 and I have no idea what you are talking about. what did you ever do before 720p displays and before the iPhone 4? Holy crap.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Infinite contrast isn't that appealing to me. Accurate colors and sharp screens without grain and horrible color shifting or tinting is.

I don't hold the phone to my face so I can't really tell. Compared to the n2 I came from its world's better.
