Hi,
im new to all this so im know im probably going to ask whats already been asked previously
ive been reading through thread after thread and cant find a fix
i have a HTC ONE from Three Ireland Network
i had rooted my HTC one so my car could download its phonebook properly
i had team win recovery project installed
last night Three Ireland released the 4.4 Update but it failed
i didnt realise that the carrier OTA updates dont work
so i found a ROM on here that i thought would work
OTA_M7_UL_K44_SENSE55_MR_H3G_UK_4.20.771.17-3.62.771.3_release_3536491kghgv33dtz4m18n
i used the team win recovery to flash it and now my phone wont boot
i can get into the boot loader but im stuck in a loop
i dont seem to have team win anymore so get it and try another rom
i had originally used odin3 to get team win on
i have the device in fastboot usb but the pc wont see the phone to be able to use the original odin method
so right now im screwed, i dont know how to fix
please help!

First off.. Odin is used for Samsung Firmware only..Do not use on a HTC One or any other make of phone..
Have you got the drivers for HTC..if not, get them from here..http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync-manager/
If you can access the bootloader and fastboot.. Post a fastboot getvar all minus your serial no and imei no.
thanks for getting back to me!

make sure you are using twrp 2.6.3.3
if not here is the link-- http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
check the MD5sum is correct before flashing has it sometimes doesnt play nice with the downloads
You can download the MD5 Checker from here http://getmd5checker.com/
PS this is only if your bootloader is unlocked
thanks so much for all this

Read te FAQ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228274
first rename the twrp recovery to recovery
then enter the bootloader
connect to pc and open up a CMD window where your adb and fastboot commands are," shift and left mouse to open up CMD "
type fastboot devices. if a random serial no is returned your ok
put your recovery into the adb/fastboot folder and
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
once done
fastboot erase cache
reboot into bootloader and choose recovery
To restore the Nandroid backup follow these instructions at the top of the page http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/stock-nandroid-downloads/
Good luck

so this part was simple to do and looks ok
type fastboot devices. if a random serial no is returned your ok
put your recovery into the adb/fastboot folder and
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
once done
fastboot erase cache
reboot into bootloader and choose recovery
but nothing has changed
when i select recovery on the phone, it still goes back to the bootloader
ive attached a screenshot of the DOS Commands to make sure im following what your saying
(i know im being a pain!)

UNLOCKED bootloader
If you still have the OTA file you can extract from it the firmware.zip file and flash it after RELOCKING your bootloader.
You will get your OS back for starters and then you can proceed again with custom firmware flashing and Rom flashing.

Hi there, sorry couldnt help last night, but i just read the thread in more detail which recovery are you trying to flash? Link please
The filesize doesn't look right to me!! (Post #8, sending 8866KB)
Please check MD5 on the download, to confirm it's not a corrupt download. If you're downloading from TWRP site, it doesn't play nice with download managers/some browsers, and you end up with a bad download.
Also, please use copy/paste for the command prompt outputs, reading screenshots is much harder. thanks

yep looks like a bad download, get TWRP:
2.6.3.3: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7
or 2.6.3.4: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7ul
download: http://winmd5.com/ open the zip and run the exe then check the output of MD5 is against the one on the download site. once it verifies correctly:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.3-m7.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter recovery
Hello Guys! I made this little script for the people that dont know adb/fastboot commands and want to install a custom recovery
This will ONLYwork on UNLOCKED bootloaders.
Make sure "USB-Debugging" is enabled and adb/fastboot drivers have been properly installed
DISCLAIMER: I am not responsible for bricked devices or nuclear warfare. I made this simple script for those who can follow simple instructions.
1st. Download the Recovery Flashing script from here: http://goo.gl/ZtaUFe
2. Unzip the files to a folder on your desktop, or where ever you would like, just remember where you unzipped it to.
3. Download the recovery of your choice:
[m8][CWM Advanced Edition] PhilZ Touch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703223
OR
[RECOVERY][m8] TWRP 2.7.0.0 touch recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2717932
4. Place the recovery you downloaded in the previous step into the folder you unzipped the Recovery Flashing script.
5. Rename the recovery you downloaded to Recovery that way it appears as "Recovery.img" in the folder. If it has and extra ".img" at the end, it will fail to flash.
6. After you have done all the steps above, Simply click the "Recovery-Flasher.bat" and follow its instructions it presents, If you have done everything correctly you phone will boot into recovery at the end of the script
I hope this has made life a little easier for our new comers. Please dont forget to hit the thanks button!!! :good::good::good:

What would it take to make either recovery of choice a flashable zip file to be flashed wile in a custom recovery
Guys I need your help please..I root the tablet and flash Cromix ROM but the speaker went to crap..lots of crackling and distorted noise. So I went into recovery and flashed jb-4.3_ota-full_tf701t-macallan.zip to go back to stock. It did but its unstable and the speaker is still horrible..So I tried going to Asus Web site and DL the UL-K00C-WW-10.26.1.18-user.zip and put it in my Sd card and rebooted the device chosing RCK and it gives me an error..also did a wipe data on the option by the RCK...I cannot get it back to factory stock..what did I do wrong?
About in the settings
Build number
JSS15J.US_epad-10.26.1.18-20131217
020115_2013102100002
Then in Recovery is the Macalla-user BL released by "Us_epad-10.26.1.7-20131108"
I don't want to send it back to Asus, they are gonna charge me to fix this problem..Thanks
anyone please have any idea?
At least on tf201 (ordered my tf701 today) flashing stock rom downloaded straight from asus is a big no no on unlocked bootloader. You wiped data in rck? Do you mean in recovery or in the menu where are rck, fastboot and wipe data (just making sure)
How about in what state is your tablet now?

You can try this:
Download the stock recovery from here: http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=3210
Copy the image to your fastboot folder.
Download the Asus firmware, unzip the file once and copy it to your internal SD.
Boot tablet into fastboot
Issue this command
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Note: Do not flash the recovery, just boot it.
It should recognize the firmware file on your tablet and flash it.
BTW, I doubt the rom has anything to do with your speaker problem, but it would be interesting to find out. Please report back.

YOU DO NOT FLASH THE RECOVERY IMAGE!
Boot it. Read the post and command.
You basically sideload the recovery. Instead of flashing it to your device, you boot it from your PC. But it should still function as if installed.
If you get an error, write it down. Exactly as it reports it.

Can you explain how you got it? I'm on VIE-L09C432B360 and I receive an update to B370 but when the download finishes, the phone restarts and when TWRP tries to install the update I got an error (which I can't read). My guess, the update fails because of TWRP. So I want to reinstall the stock recovery. Can you explain the steps you followed? Thanks in advance.

No problem! Haha, lucky timing, I was about to head to bed.
Anyways, you will need Android-SDK platform tools, Huawei Update Extractor, which you can download here, and the CURRENT firmware file of your device, which you can download using Huawei Firmware Finder here. Here's how you do it...
1. Find and download your firmware using Huawei Firmware Finder. Go to the common base tab and enter your CURRENT build number in the textbox labeled "Model for find". Under the "type" list, find the one that says "FullOTA" and click the link under the "Filelist". This opens a new window with a list of links. Open the link that ends with "update.zip". That will download your firmware.
2. Open the zip file and extract the file called "UPDATE.APP"
3. Open the Huawei Update Extractor, and drag and drop the "UPDATE.APP" on the window. You will see a list of files. Select and right click "RECOVERY.img", and click on "Extract Selected" and set your file destination. This is the recovery software.
4. Once it has finished extracting, simply flash it as you would with TWRP.
Hope this helps! Don't be afraid to ask if you need more help.

Yep! That's how you flash the recovery.
Thanks. I hope you had a nice sleep.
Anyway I did it via flashify, but what I get is eRecovery and I think it's not the same as stock recovery.
Sorry to bother you again, but options are not the same than stock recovery. In eRecovery you haven't options to wipe, only download new versions and reboot/shutdown. As I don't know if stock recovery has been properly installed, I don't dare to install the B370 update.

Hmm, obviously that's not right... Have you tried using ADB to reboot into your recovery? Try opening a command window and try typing in "adb reboot recovery". That's usually how you get into your recovery other than turning on your phone by holding both your volume up and power button until you see the recovery screen. If that doesn't work try flashing again using adb instead of Flashify.

I'm on stock B360, rooted and twrp installed. I got an update of B380 and as described by others I was unable to update through twrp. I tried your method, downloaded B360 firmware through FIRMWARE FINDER, when I opened "UPDATE. APP" in update extractor, I got two images of recovery "RECOVERY.IMG" & "RECOVERY2.IMG". I extracted "RECOVERY.IMG" and flashed. Everything went fine recovery flashed successfully.
After that I started OTA update. It started flashing but it is giving me error when reaches at 5%. Kindly tell me what is wrong?

Hey all, I'm in a similar situation in that I'm trying to restore stock recovery in order to receive the new B386 OTA update.
Problem is, I'm on B385 firmware and the last version available for download is B384. Does anyone know if it would be possible to extract the B384 recovery and flash that, or is that just a really bad idea?
I'd really rather not do a factory reset all for the sake of a Google security patch
After giving up last year I came back to try again and everything worked smoothly. Don't know why I had trouble the first time!
To anyone with a rooted device who wants to go back to receiving OTA updates, just follow mechasnyper's instructions and download the full firmware zip for your current OS version in Firmware Finder, extract and flash recovery.img, and hey presto.
Now to just sit and wait for the L29 Oreo update to arrive
Hello friends,
This is my case:
My phone suddenly went into a bootloop while casually surfing in chrome.
It now can boot into original mi recovery 3.0 (with the only options of booting and erasing data), and in fastboot!
I remember having enabled usb debugging!
Wearing official global stable rom (11.0.1 I think), official recovery, being unrooted and with locked bootloader!!
My problem is that i really, i mean Really, want to save my photos ( phone got damaged while on vacation in Malta!!).
What can be done??
Thanks in advance!

1. You arent bricked.
2. use fastboot to get into recovery (hoping you are decrypted) use my guide (fastboot fix) https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/simple-beginners-guide-to-raphaelin-t4020543
3. If decrypted you can save your files. If not, then a method to decrypt is not yet found.
the only known way to decrypt is to format data (losing all your internal storage files)

Don't spread misinformation, he can't do nothing on locked bootloader with fastboot. Fastboot require unlocked bootloader.
Way to unbrick device in this scenario is to use Mi recovery and Mi PC suit (china version) to flash stock .zip rom over official recovery. Unfortunately this will delete all data before flashing. And can be flashed only rom which is stored in phone and up but same regional rom format.

Also stop telling people to flash vbmeta when it is not needed.
The only time it is necessary is when you want to install TWRP, but stay on MIUI and not have Magisk.

If you bought the phone from an official, local retailer and you have a local service centre, they 'may' (very very slim chance) be able to do something that allows you to recover the photos. As the previous answer says, realistically you will need to restore the phone, which will wipe all data.
