[Q]Unsecure Boot... - LG Optimus 4X HD

I unlocked my BL using not using the official method, to install a custom ROM do I need to flash the unsecure boot.img or I can flash the ROM without concerns?
PS: I installed CWM from ROM Manager

to install a custom rom you dont need to flash an unsecure boot but custom recovery like cwm or twrp...The boot.img is enclosed on custom rom zip and is flashed with automatic!

Custom Recovery without Root

Starting from stock unrooted OOS 4.1.1 can I install TWRP without layer having to root the device? I read some guides that clearly describe the process of installing the recovery and root the phone but I didn't get if it's possible to just install the TWRP and boot right after

you just need unlocked boot loader to install twrp. rooting your device is optional.

Official Miui and TWRP

I plan to flash a custom recovery over my official global dev miui instead of the stock recovery.
I read that I have to disable dm-verity in TWRP Or flash lazy-flasher to avoid bootloop (some even say do both)
My question is when I update via OTA will I lose TWRP and be back to stock recovery?
Or does the OTA leave my modifications (recovery, root, lazy flasher) intact?

u can still update MIUI via OTA but after every update ull have to flash twrp again and re-root.

Mi8 Doesn't Boot

I have installed TWRP and then wipe everything(including Internal Storage accidentally). I installed xiaomi.eu stable rom and phone stuck at MI android screen. Then try xiaomi.eu beta rom it is same.
What should I do?
If you have unlocked BL use mi flash to flash stock rom
Flash stock rom using miflash 2018 (portable) since your bootloader is unlocked, make sure you choose clean all, DON'T choose clean all and lock at the bottom of miflash screen before you flash the rom, other wise your device will be bricked.

Thanks, it worked, I solved it by installing rom with fastboot and I know why TWRP doesn't work. Because of encryption. https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389

Patched stock MI recovery

I found this https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-9t/how-to/root-k20-indian-rom-v10-3-6-0-twrp-t3958566 regarding rooting the phone by using a patched stock MI recovery, to include Magisk in it, then flashing it into the phone so we have a rooted ROM without installing TWRP.
This guide is for Mi9. Is it applicable to mi9t pro too?
Also I wanna ask how we can relock the bootloader, assuming we are in the stock ROM the phone came with.

First of all it's not a patched Mi Recovery.
This method works with Mi 9T Pro and almost all phones. What you do is just patching the boot.img and flash it. So you don't need to flash TWRP and you are rooted.
IF YOU DO THIS, NEVER LOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER!
To be stock means no patches, just nothing! Fully stock!
To lock your bootloader use MiFlash.
Thanks for the response.
I assume that, if i flash the patched boot file, I must reflash the untouched boot file in order to relock the bootloader?
I just wanna be very carefull with my new phone ...

Yes.
Hello again
All went well.
I unlocked my bootloader
I patched and flashed the boot file
I rooted my phone (eea 10.3.3.0) without TWRP
What happens now with the official OTA updates?
Will my phone be updated normally?
If it will be updated, my root will be gone?

Yes if you update the root will be gone, you'll have to patch the new version's boot image.

It's because you flashed the A11 fw. Solution is download stock MIUI fastboot ROM, flash it using fastboot, then you can flash Custom Recovery again. And be remember that on some custom ROMs, if you use A11 fw, your recovery will disappear again.
Btw, with K20P I suggest you to use OrangeFox
