Hey Everyone, Im new to rooting and installing custom roms and have been having a boot loop problem after installing the ReVolution mod. I have followed multiple tutorials and have been trying for about 4 hours and every time I reboot after the install I get the HTC logo and a bunch of red text that from what I read is normal for about 10 seconds than it shuts off, starts up, and repeats. I have tried everything I can find online and on this site but no luck. Any help would be amazing! Thanks.

It's a common issue. You need to flash a lower over clocked kernel using fastboot. Check out Prometheus kernel in the dev section! (I recommend the 767mhz kernel)

+1 I even had my buddy who put a rom on his Nexus help me out. To no avail.
what rom and kernal are you running
I think im running kernel.
Hi everyone,
Semi-experienced guy here, played around with my old Aria lots but haven't really done much to the new Vivid besides unlocking the bootloader and installing CWM.
I ran the S-OFF program, worked like a charm. Then I flashed wcxrecovery, no problems there. Then I loaded the PH139 update file to prepare for an ICS custom ROM, and that loaded everything OK. I hit reboot, and now the phone will not go past the initial HTC boot screen. No loops, just stays on that screen. Neither ADB nor fastboot will recognize the phone.
So, how do I extricate myself from this situation?

Never mind, got myself out of panic mode and I'm booting up ICS now.
I rooted my HTC Desire C (Golf) with no data losed. Checked and it was really rooted. It happend in less than 15 sec (I mean the rooting process after plugging in my device in bootloader mode while PC was waiting for device). using techdraginfo.blogspot. com/2012/09/how-to-root-htc-desire-c-android-40-ics.html this guide. I deleted some Orange annoying files from the system and when I rebooted it didn't want to pass the last HTC Logo with Quietly Brilliant and the BeatsAudio logo. I installed some ROMs but one failed, the second succefully but after rebooting blocked at logo. And there was still one ROM left, I don't remember what one but, after rebooting it installed me CyanogenMod 9. Everything kinda works fine, no bugs except the WiFi, I will download WiFix from PC and install it in my phone  Thank you XDA for giving useful links. I love you all.
So my question is :
Is it normal a succefull rooting process at a 600 Mhz processor in under 30 seconds with NO DATA losed or damaged?
Please answer, I'm confused.
I have the HTC Vivid on stock firmware until recently it started to shut down by itself, so I decided to try some roms. I unlocked the bootloader, and then installed the clockworkmod recovery. It remained on S-ON. I tried the cyanogenmod 10, MIUI, and bunch of other roms, they all freeze after starting up, like as soon as I can see the initial set-up screen. It goes past the boot. Sometimes I even have time to go into the launcher and click on things before it freezes. Then after a few seconds it reboots. I tried to run RUU, but it fails as well. Any ideas what should I do?

Yes, I did flash boot.img from extracted zip of the rom. I also tried TWRP recovery, same result.
Hello
I had my HTC One running Cyanogenmod 11 like a charm. After that I flashed ElementalX kernel which I have used many times before. It flashed correctly but my phone got stuck in the boot loop. Then I rebooted back to recovery and tried to flash Bulletproof kernel. It flashed correctly too but my phone is still not restarting. At this point I thought "**** it, I'll flash new rom" but I can't boot into bootloader. The only thing my phone is doing is flashing software buttons. It doesn't show even the HTC logo screen! I'm starting to get worried I actually bricked my phone :crying:.
Does any of you have any solutions?

Hold the power button and the Vol down for about 15 seconds in a well lit room
when the buttons stop flashing let go of power and continue holding the Vol down .. you should be back in boot loader.
After that you should RUU back to stock
find the one that matches you phones CID and MID here

Hi
Thanks for your quick help. I have to admit I was at first a little pessimistic about that light actually working since I had tried it a few times, but for some reason it really worked and let me into bootloader. So a big thank you for you who used your precious time to help me, thank you. :highfive: Now my phone is fully functional again. :victory:
