I came to the HTC ONE international version from my Desire HD where my IGO navigation app worked perfectly.
However both of my navigation voices have now developed an annoying pause between voice instructions : in 50 yards .... Turn right etc etc.
Unexpected with the HTC One power, still think it's superb device.

Are you using TTS voice or standard voice in you iGO settings?

I had heard Google Voice worked fine on the Touch, but the lower third of the keyboard is always missing, rendering its SMS/text capabilities basically nil.
Anyone have a similar experience and/or have a workaround?
(sigh)
Well, I worked on the app trying different methods of possibly expanding the keyboard to full size to no avail. I searched the Market for any substitutes for GoogleVoice. Nothing there, either.
Has anyone found a substitute?
GV Mobile site.
I use the Google Voice mobile site: www dot google dot com/voice/b/0/m. It works great in Opera Mobile. I'm too new to post links, so you'll have to fix that address...
Drakkim:
Indeed! I ended up switching to using the mobile site (in Opera mini) just as you did. Worked fine for me.
However, of late, I decided to switch keyboards (currently both GO Keyboard and ICS Keyboard) and they end up working just fine in the actual Google Voice app. These keyboards don't get "cut off".
I use swifttabletx, but the corrections don't pop up, so i disabled them, and it works great.

hello,
i was woundering witch is the best navigation system for my phone.
I tried navigon but this app keeps crashing. Is there a free good working navigation app for my phone ?
I prfer no ineternet connection only gps
Tnx
I can't think of any free offline navigation program right now.
But I love Sygic.
Perhaps I think Google maps is the best, furthermore, nw Google maps support cached maps, you're able to load the maps and save it first for yr offline navigation

I have tried
Sygic (Aura) - still the best but better use with bluetooth gps if driving
Copilot - better accuracy but interface and controls are not so fun.
Waze - it is fun if you have lost of friends with smartphones around
Google Nav - is nice then you are walking (but not even comparable to Sygic as it is superb for visiting new places). Anyway I use google maps for informational purposes only.
Navigon - once tried but deleted very quickly - did not find its place between copilot and Sygic
Navfree - not worth even downloading
you could give Igo a shot.
Sygic wins, no need for external gps. I'm a delivery driver and use this on my phone all day, no problems. I use to get drop outs on Cyanogenmod.

There's a particular detail about this, in the Google blog:
"This download stores only the base map tiles and the landmarks on the map, so you still need a data connection to see satellite view and 3D buildings, search for Places and get directions."

+1 for Igo
+10 for Igo

Use Navigon MobileNavigator Europe v4.0.1, probably you have tried with version 4.0.0. For 4.0.1 you don't need internet connection or rooted phone.
On my DHD i have: Navigon 4.0.1, iGO MyWay v8.4.3.179971, Sygic GPS Navigation v11.2.5 and CoPilot Live Europe Full v 9.1.0.161 only for rooted phones and all works without a problem.
IGO working 100 % .
I am using both Sygic and iGo... both work perfect in my DHD.
In Malaysia the best would be Papago X8, got every details on even the most remote area here.

google navigation
I like navigon, got it free with my phone and brings me where I want to go!
I live in EU and before I rooted my DHD, I bought premium navigation which comes with phone. Travelled to Eastern Europe, London and Croatia (ex Yugoslavian country) and it guide me perfetcly. Thanks to this navigation which I still do not know the name of the application, and thanks to social networks, I drove directly to my internet's friend's house on numerous occasions.

I would ask you If anyone knows how is this stock HTC navigation called. Which firm is behind it? In App drawer it is called just "Locations."
So when I rooted my phone I stick to ROMs which are "derivates" to stock DHD roms. Like ARHD.
If anyone of you could tell me which navigation it is I would be immensely happy.
The default navigation application from google is not working. Is there any way to sync mapmyindia offline maps with google navigation or any other navigation software.?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1429126&highlight=google+maps
why waste money on map my India when you can use google navigation for free.. its not officially out try but the modded version from the above link will work fine, I am yet to find any bugs.
I use this often when I go to India. the map's got way more details than mmi .
I find the online maps a lot delaying . If only we could synchronize offline maps it would be much better. Any help regarding this ?

Well if you go to google maps settings, in the labs there is an option called precache map. So if you cache your route via wifi before your journey the maps will load fast and you won't lose precious mobile data.
So what do you say ?
google navigation is fantastic the rerouting feature works like a charm
And outside the cities mapmyindia hardly has any coverage
Pls give it a try and I am sure you won't go back to mapmyindia.
(unless of course you are an undercover map my India employee here for info )
If you want offline navigation
Sygic is working fine. on both gingerbread and ICS.
Navigon, Ndrive and Map my india also working fine on Gingerbread, but didn,t tried on ICS. (I always prefer google and sometime Sygic)
Im going off on a long toad trip tomorrow. Will check and post back comments. Thanks again for help.
Note : was using sygic for bada and hence was asking bout it. ;-);-)

How can I remove the voice typing icon from my keyboard? I use the phone layout and the icon has replaced my ?/! Buttons. I never use voice typing, I just want Rid of it. I'm using viperone now, but It wasn't there on ARHD 10.3.
Thanks.

Try downloading a different keyboard from play store.

Problem is I quite like the sense keyboard, it works a treat, it's the voice typing that's interfering.

I have an odd issue with voice commands with Google maps and I can even reproduce it after a factory reset.
First off you need to be using the new Google Assistant.
1) start navigation to any destination
2) while in Google maps full screen use the voice command via hotword or mic button to change to a different destination
3) it'll confirm that it changed the route but won't actually do it.
It'll work if maps is minimized or you're in a different app while navigation is running in the background.
I can fix it if I install Google app version that appears not too have the new Google Assistant but then I lose things like continued conversation and the new GA animation.
Has anyone experienced this or can anyone test it? A factory reset did not fix the issue.

Confirming the issue here as well. Quick work around is to just tap X on the current navigation then voice command the next location.
