Nope, it can't be.
Proof :
1. Tizen is a modified version of Wave / Bada OS, it's slower than Android.
2. It's still new, app developer doesn't support it, yet.
3. Android has it's dominance because it have many variation of device.

yes, but they talk about how is this os meant to be major change for low end device...like its gonna be better for those phones than running android xmpl on our mini...i can see its a early stage of development, just a prototype...
It could be quite successful cause it makes the device independent of flash player by basing it on HTML 5 ....thus increasing the potential for development...

??
Why would you wanna go to windows 8 with android around ? Android on G-note is much more powerful than with windows.
incase you haven't checked the "apollo" and it's capabilities please do a brief research...
windows phone 8 is on a whole new level of competition here...
considering the release of windows 8 for our computers... and the Microsoft E3 press conference... i doubt that "crappy" tag someone just gave above this comment...
i've been using windows mobile 6, 6.1, 6.5, windows phone 7, mango... and galaxy note is my first android device...
before galaxy note i was using htc hd2 and i still have that device... (but galaxy note is my primary device) so i thought if we can port android on a windows phone why can't we port windows to an android phone?
and for the respected people who are interested in this idea... i think we need another version of MAGLDR (like we had in htc hd2) and maybe we can install the "apollo" on our SD card...
we may have a dual boot device!
if you can find (or develop) the drivers, yes... it can be ported.
and yes, i dare say any winblows product is crap
you may "dare" **** your pants or eat crap sir/madam, nobody cares about that... and if you find this post soooo uninteresting or "crappy" why bother replying nonsense thoughts of your p-brain which (...is actually dehydrated) aren't useful for anyone?!
and thanks for the motivation you just gave me... :]
i posted this question to discuss, maybe help real developers/people not assclowns/disrespectful people who don't even respect the hardworking developers who create these operating systems for us...
Its my humble opinion !!!
I was also a user of Windows and bada OS' . And with android around they are not even in the competition. And this is my own opinion, so i'll move it off.
Android is, indeed, more powerful than Windows. But, different strokes for different folks.
Since we have sources now, I'm pretty sure more developers will come along soon and hopefully, for your sake, a developer that can port Windows 8. The more variety, the better, for us all.

don't hold your breath. those sources are linux based as android is linux based. do you expect devs to develop a winblows OS based on a linux kernel?
maybe.... just maybe.... when the winblows kernel is freely available and somebody is really interested to port or develop the drivers, then maybe you might have a winblows "experience" on your note. and while you're at it, why not wish for iOS port to Note?
keep wishing........
people hate it when the absurdity of their delusions hits them smack in the face.

Firefox OS is meant to be a mobile OS and is derived from an Android kernel, it's not the same thing. It's also already available on a couple of Android devices (Nexus S/S 4G, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Nexus, all on ICS+).
That being said, you might want to read a little bit about the product you're asking for, before asking for a port because it "seems pretty cool". And while we're here, stop asking for ports altogether till we get the GPU sources, and don't mistaken the Ace i for a high end device.
People keep asking for CM ports, better gaming performance, less lag, etc. Well, perhaps it would have been a good idea to know what you're buying when you bought this budget phone.

Ubuntu just released Ubuntu phone os as see running on a galaxy nexus. This thing looks wonderful and I can wait to see it come to the nexus 4. Check this out
http://mobile.theverge.com/2013/1/2/3827922/ubuntu-phone-os-announcement
If it was up to me I think this is what android should evolve into even if it meant Google buying Ubuntu.
This is very well thought out is which basically uses the entire phone screen things are done through swypes and speech and everything looks like it works. The only thing may be app support.

Its not a full fledged Linux OS its Ubuntu's version of a phone OS, basically Ubuntu Android. The docking mentioned in the promo sounds like the Motorola Atrix concept all over. There are developers who have ported Ubuntu to other phones but they pretty much had limited usability for lack of drivers; no wifi, data, etc. This should port over easier as it uses android drivers. Also sounds like all android apps will not work with this?

It is great there is a little lag but this is pre release software and I believe it could be easily fixed. But even with the lag on a galaxy nexus I think this would run beautifully smooth on a nexus 4.

Yep it doesn't look like android apps would work, but if they could make that work or even evolve android into something like this it would be cool.
What's the definition of "full fledged" Linux OS? We're getting close on the kernel. Otherwise install Busybox and you're there, IMO
Exactly like Ubuntu's Desktop the limitations here will be apps.. I prefer my Debian/Ubuntu-based Linux Mint + Cinnamon over all OS's including Chrome & MacOS, but the lack of apps (which isn't changing anytime soon) will be insurmountable

Yes the os is is nice and it does work, but the major downfall of this is app support and developer support;they need this to take Ubuntu phone os to the top.

Well, it'll obviously be a lot better when Ubuntu creates it rather than uninvolved developers, of course. Ubuntu is usually not one to disappoint.
Also, I don't really get why they skipped the Nexus 4 and went with the Galaxy Nexus. Maybe it's just cause not enough people own the Nexus 4 yet, and due to supply as well, rather than demand.
I think this should be Android based, like TouchWiz. Then we could just easily flash it like a custom ROM and all our apps would be compatible and available from GPlay.
I think I'll still try this out though, looks promising.

Purchasable phones is what they meant by that. The firmware images are being released soon, which should find there way to a multitude of devices shortly.
It'll be much better than any other OS as long as it gets support, the desktop version is amazing but lack of developer support means you have to use Windows still. I'm not a fan of stock Android, Google never seem to be able to keep up, Touchwiz is so much better. So I cannot wait to see what Ubuntu will turn out like after a few revisions.

In terms of visual design, what is most likely going to change when Samsung puts Touchwiz on it? Do you think most of the card style interface will remain? what about the bright contrasting colour theme?

I assume not much since Google is doing its best to limit OEM skinning on android
Guys its too soon to talk about Android L now cuz it is still under development from google and after its release in Fall as they assume, Samsung will then take it and develop it itself to be compatible with touchwiz and all bloat ware then test and then release to public and in phases not all at once.
I assume it will take 6 to 7 months, maybe when S6 arrives will arrive with new android L.
I plan to start development for auto extension of L. However I am curious about supporting it from car makers. Did Google already shared info which maker will make HU compatible with Android L? What kind of interface do they plan to use? I assume BT isn't sufficient for transferring video.
1. Brightness slider in notification bar
2. Battery saver
3. Pop-up notification
4. DND
5. Knox
^^ All these above are already present in many Samsung phone. Stock Android have lot of catching up to do with OEM software in terms of actual usability.
UI tweaks for me is the last thing I am worried about.

well depends, as a phone is ok but with only 16gb of storage installing only a few apps the storage gets occupied quickly or with only the Android OS installed but with GO at least you have latest Android OS and the low storage requirement is a plus...
Or on the other hand i could install other roms but something official is not bad either as a option !
