FAQS
How to enable power saving mode ?
Scroll down notification panel , click power saving. Now goto SETCPU . Underclock as per power savings . Chose Powersave governor and deadline io scheduler . I suggest 600mhz ~800mhz Max and 400mhz Minimum
for multitasking chose powersave + sio and keep the max at 700mhz and min at 500 mhz
for playing games of low resolution and low resource requirements.

a question, because the firmware XELLC?

How do you undervolt your screen?

Hey nice batterytweaks. But may I ask why you chose llc over mc3 or md2?

Good question
Choosing llc over the new ones was a bit awkward as people has the notion that latest is the best . But the newer builds mc3 or md2 or the upcoming mds have RPTC ( Resource protocol thread computing ) . this means for every thread ( apps n stuff ) every cycle has to pass a system protocol ( long system permissions mainly XML or java frames ) . This makes the system app thread to take up more ram and cpu usage , eventually giving a battery drain and taking up more cpu power and ram . But on the other hand this provides protection for some bugs ( ex . exynos chip error and partly sudden death ) .
So what i did is took up the older yet most stable built , manually removed the threats which RPTC would remove , tweaked the rom to the MAX and here it is .
The end product is a Sammy rom , giving 16 17 hours of battery backup on 2100 mAH stock battery on normal usage ( 6 hours screen , 3 hours 3g calling , 8 hour audio playback , 2 hour gaming ) with being SUPERSTABLE
Another thing was enabling fastcharge .
fastcharge on newer builds is not stable . for some reason the phone wouldn't accept the extra power being delivered form the usb 3.0 port and ending up getting heated . this would destroy the phone forever , or the battery could explode too ( worst case scenario ) . So to avoid it , took up XELLC ( i personally like this build )

Undervolting the screen is not a healthy thing as it can destroy the screen forever , if not done properly .
Undervolting cannot be done on user levels, but while compliling the kernel source and describing the brightness levels , i could be . but that is not exactly undervolting the screen . yeah , you can call it undervolting the screen , indirectly

The only drawback i can see so far is that due to the rom version one can not use the newest versions of jkays framework which is certainly a decision making fact when chosing to install a rom or not. At least for me it is!
Apart from this sounds awesome!
I guess I'll give it a try this weekend to see wheather the other tweaks you provide can make up for it!

Yeah brother . I know people would be apprehensive about going on this rom because of its older firmware , but try it once .

Will try this!
Latest isn't always the best so perhaps this is for me
Will give it a try thou!

I am trying to download, but after some time I always get a "Network Error" message, I have tried with Chrome and Firefox, but no luck, could you upload it to some other server?
Regards

this is the best reply i've ever had to a question.
however, i did not experience the batteryloss when i first flashed MC2. it was absolutely a relief compared to what we had seen only just before. Maybe it was an illusion but mc2 surely was wicked for the battery, almost like anonorom v23.
edit: flashed the rom and there are rising some painful questions:
what is the samsung account service still doing there?
why is software update service still there?
why the beats bootscreen with sound?
why flipboard?
why beats audio?
why group cast?
why paper artist?
why more services?
etc etc.. i hoped this was kind of a slimmed down rom, but now i've flashed it i have a bit of regret, i don't want to manually remove all the bloatware.

Samsung Account for using SApps . ( SApps have some really good apps only for samsung phones , such as photo editing apps that get embedded in some system options )
Software Update service is tricked and the access points are defined to my server . Means as per your requests ( and many others who might request for some changes ) the service will download updates. BUT ONLY WHEN I HAVE TURNED ON MY SERVER . Dont worry . it wont take neither your data usage , nor your cpu . and for the ram usage , you can surely KILL IT WITH FIRE
Beat Bootscreen , ahem , seriously i was bored of Samsung's Bootscreen as ive been seeing it since the phones from 2009 . Thats why. Sound... its just a 2 second ring . I dont see any wrong in that other than you starting your phone while giving an exam
Flipboard : Because many of us use it . Many NON SAMSUNG phone users download it from the playstore , SO why remove it at all ?
Group CAST : I kept it because many of my friends have GS3 and GS2's . Even my sis has GS2 .. And its a fun app. . Just a 800kb APK , which wont take anything , just a 1x1 icon space unless manually started
BEATS AUDIO : The main reason of using beats audio is that the driver it installs is CUSTOMIZABLE up to many levels . Undervolting the sound chip on stock audio driver gave some FC's . Being a X HTC user , the only solution i found was using beats . And if you are an audiophile , you will see the difference yourself
Paper Artist : The main advantage of using a sammy rom is cuz of its camera app that gives fabulous results. I kept it cuz sometimes , you may want to edit pictures .... Umm just kept it as per DAILY DRIVER basis .
More services ?? Please ELABORATE .
And .. This rom has been tested for 34 days . So , i SHOULD give outputs of a daily driver.

Battery Loss would probably start IF YOU USE IT for some time , and you've installed many 3rd party apps and games , and you use 3rd party launchers , widgets , custom clocks , live wallpapers etc .
I am waiting for the new MDS . Its going to be the best FW .

Nice. Thanks.
This morning I installed Google Now for Arco's CM9 Alpha 7. I am not interested in cards and notifications (as they eat a lot of battery and are laggy) but I am only interested in voice search (kind of cool) so I installed Mikey6_Online package, I disactivated all Google Now options and maps option but it's laggy as well.. If you have any ideas how to make it work smoothly, I'm buying.

A Few reasons:
-Well first, offline package does reduce the lag a bit, try that
-Our kernel of the ICS is not done, i mean the kernel is not finished, so performance can be a question, do to the kernel's config, no-oc, no-ow, etc.
-If you have many processes in background it can cause the lag, in fact it can make a huge lag if you have like 10-15 high process[WebBrowser,Games,Maps,Music Player[Playing ofc], FACEBOOK [This app is the biggest ram, and performance killer], PlayStore]
-Try config the CPU's speed, and CPU governor [Settings - Performance - Processor] and set the CPU Governor to Performance, and min CPU frequency to 368, This will make Google Now work very very Well
I love this. I flashed it over slim ics and works like charm. Thanks.

if i install online package and then find out that indeed is very laggy, how can i install offline package. simply by running the zip file through cwm or i must do something else?
Thanks

MIUI Optimization Guide

Hi,
I decided to write this post, along with hours and days and weeks of tweaking, testing, flash and re-flash over and over again MIUI Rom from MIUIAndroid.
Due the fact that we're not officially supported, we have only available a port (normally it's great) - however, this port has some performance and sometimes battery drain issues.
This small guide, is the result of all that testing, working with different combinations and tweaks. I've tried a LOT of stuff, until finally I seemed to get it right, at least it's a LOT better.
What you gonna need.
1 - The rom from MIUIAndroid obviously. check the list here and download it.
2 - The gapps you're gonna need are for 4.2.2. They can be your choice, but I'm using the ones provided by MIUI. Check here.
3 - I'm using Iodak repacked Kernel. Werewolf kernel seemed to get good performance too. They can either be found here. For the sake of coherency, I'm going with Iodak 8.5. The point is to have the closest configuration as mine.
4 - CrossBreeder script - It's a bundle of tweaks with deep optimizations. It's a necessary thing. Thanks to the author. Check thread & download here.
Instructions:
1 - Flash the rom as usual - Just the rom, nothing else.
2 - Reboot. Setup some stuff if you like, or reboot again to recovery.
3 - Flash Iodak Kernel.
4 - Flash Gapps.
5 - Flash CrossBreeder.
6 - Reboot to MIUI.
Apply build.prop tweaks.
Okay, now we're going to use some build.prop tweaks. They DID seem to help so I'm not leaving it by chance. Head over the thread here and appy them. The 3G ones are optional, we're focusing on performance. I did not apply the init.d ones either. Check thread here.
You'll need a build.prop editor. Search the market for one.
Also, go to Settings - Battery - Power Settings: High Performance (This is NOT the same as Performance Governor).
Whatever tool you're using to control your cpu frequency, I'm using kernel tuner for the sake of also changing OOM values.
On kernel tuner, I'm using the following configuration:
Governor: Interactive
Cpu Min: 3xx mhz (around 300).
CPU Max: 1700.
OOM:: Preset 768 Agressive.
IO Scheduler: SIO
SD Card Cache Size: This isn't a hat that fits for all, but it's found the best value to be 2048, or something.
For performance, this should do the trick.
For battery, besides the tweaks on the build.prop, I use OnePowerGuard (link here Set it to AI (learning mode) and believe me. After 1 hour of listening to music, 3g on, and turning on the screen a lot to check for calls (total of 59 minutes) I got 79% of battery. I know it's not impressive, but kinda is for MIUI.
I think this pretty much sums it. If I remember anything else I'll post.
I'd love to hear experiences and different combinations from the MIUI fans. It's a great rom, it's just a bit sad that falls short on overal performance.
Hope this guide helps. For the first time I'm keeping MIUI for over 24 hours lol.
Again on miui ?
Sent from www.callofgods.de
I know, I'm persistent, but I hate the fact that miui was once my favourite rom and we could barely use it like we should. Maybe now we'll get a chance :b

I think I failed somewhere because my deepsleep sucks. To 13% from 65% overnight around ten hours. Iodak v9.5 crossbreeder and everything set like in this tutorial.

Also my battery life sucks.
BTW,did anyone try Entropy fFxer and LaxFix free on this rom ?
It seems that they improve a bit ram management.

How many people Don't like android 4.3 please tell to Sony
1.Consuming too much power and affecting battery life.
2.Scrolling is very noisy so need too much repolish user interface.Project butter isn't works. Every application is not smooth e.g - in clock move from world clock to timer breaks, home screen, gallery, slide show is bad.
3.Some applications run in background always live in notification bar eg - Uc Web background download always shows in notification bar "Uc Web is running tap to more information "
4. Bugs with Blutooth, wifi, nfc
5. With this operating system applications run problematic not perfectly like chrome
6. Old camera UI was excellent - excellent..look and functionality.New UI looks very very bad and decreased quality.
7.Problem with video recording.
8. New Keyboard app is very very bad We want old keyboard.

Dude..!! Y don't u just downgrade it and forget it..
None of your above stated problems is being faced (atleast by me)
A cure for you ---- To fix it, Read it.. Just don't Post it, to Blame it.. Got it?
De-bloat/ Kill apps u don't use or never ever use. Battery life on 4.3 is insane runs all day for me with 20-25% drainage (average call, texts, emails on exchange) no issues at all. (Root it / Calibrate the battery for actual reading). Project butter does what it is suppose to. No lags at all. U need Lag Fix. Use Adblocker kill stupid apps delete system apps (only if u r aware of what u r deleting).
No bugs at all with Bluetooth/ wifi or NFC I use all of them in daily life and works like a charm. In other words now I can skype on wifi instead on 4g LTE (on my BB Q10) on 4.2.2 I faced too many problems. Chrome was recently updated and stable now.
For the rest release your stress and go for a different device.

Elite Performance

I have spent crazy amount of time tuning my Galaxy S5 G900F running the latest CM13 release with the stable Boeffla kernel and I finally think I totally mastered the performance level at perfect stability without any overheating issues or crashes.
I just got a splendid 64676 score from the latest antutu benchmark! That is way higher than any old 32bit Snapdragon 801 device has ever gotten and the RAM and I/O performance is just ridiculous that beats much newer and more expensive phones.
This is enabling me to play VP9 videos at 1080p completely smooth without any drop in quality or FPS. The best part is that the phone newer overheats or lags. I can run some serious multitasking and download at least 8 files simultaneously from 8 multi-threads at blistering speed including complex merging, decoding and encoding procedures just fine and using the phone for common tasks in the meantime.
For those who want to be able to shoot 60 FPS 720p videos get the Snap Camera HDR app and with correct settings that will be quite possible. Just let me know if you need instructions how to set it up properly.
I included a screen shot of the benchmark score.

I have a very clean setup of CM13 and chose the Pico Gapps version and also have xposed. So I only have the most necessary apps that I want to use to reduce all weight on the system. I also use the recent apps task killer when ever I'm done with current tasks to free the ram for next use. I hate the low memory killer because it stop certain background processes like arkTube so I put everything down to 5 and use the task killer myself.

I'd rather go with the latest release because there are still few glitches left like soft reboot does not work properly. Use stable kernel for release and beta for nightly.
New high score record for the S5 with the 3.3 kernel running CM13. Going to try CM14.1 next.
Please help I'm a noon
OK so I just read your thread and I wanted to ask a few questions but before that let me explain to you that I'm very new to costum kernel and costum rom stuff. First question what's your best recommendation for the fastest stable rom (currently updated). Second question you said you will go too cm14.1? Will that be a faster and better than the one you metioned in this thread? Third question if this is the best tweak for the s5 may you provide links to the programs you used to do this and possibly a tutorial if not it's cool I'm usually fine doing this kind of things on my own, a little guidance will be helpful though ? Sorry for being a noob but could you please help me out I just rooted my s5 (SM-G900T) and download set cpu but I've read that it won't work unless you have costum rom/kernel and thats why I'm asking for help. Please and thank you.
Great job! Do you use new Adreno drivers or rather stick to the old ones? And, do you have your camera working? I'm trying to replicate your setup and the only thing that bothers me is the camera error....
Im on cm14.1 and got 48470

And how about battery life? That OC to 2.8Ghz looks like a battery killler (to me at least)
I made sure the setup is totally interactive. It only uses a lot of power when under heavy load. The hardware goes in deep sleep when the phone is not in use.
As you can see in attached screenshots, one third of of the device's on time is in deep sleep. Input boost is on at highest settings and CPU/GPU locked at max frequency when under load so responsibility is quite good. The main power drainer is the screen at high brightness or heavy multi downloads or gaming mostly.
The screenshots. When it goes under heavy load it throttles down and up various frequencies to protect it from overheating. So let's say I download 500 files, 8 files simultaneously by an 8 multi thread method at above 120 Mbits the CPU goes under heavy load, a lot more frequencies would be used because of the throttling.
Here is a link to my Setup Demonstration YouTube video where I show the tweaks I've done to improve the performance of my phone:
I uninstalled the AdClear app because it just was too recourse demanding and network speed trap. Instead I installed the latest version of AdAway and configured it so ads in all the apps including MX Player successfully and free of VPN and system load. I attached screenshot of the configuration.

Where do you get cm13?

I've found the best ROM in terms of battery and performance!

Hello! I've found the best custom rom + kernel for my needs and I wanted to share with you guys.
In my opinion the smoothest, good battery backup (8-9 hours sot) and performance combo is Pixel Experience + and Predator kernel. To make all of your apps work properly enable force fulllscreen mode for any of them . Now let me share with you guys some battery tweaks:
1. Install Naptime and make sure that these options are enable:
https://imgur.com/a/TR0EV5d
2. Restrict any app in the background that you don't need to work in the background, like these apps:
https://imgur.com/a/INZF0Bi
3. Disable unused default apps like these:
https://imgur.com/a/PAqMJpr
and disable Google Assistant if you don't use it ( if you disabled Google app you will not found Search, Assistant and voice in the settings ): Settings - Google - Account services - Search, assistant and voice - Google Assistant - Assistant - General - Disable Google Assistant. Also disable location/ Find My Device, automatically data sync for apps.
4. Disable automatically backup for Google Photos.
Here are some apps which I use it and it will make your life easier:
- Youtube and Youtube Music without ads ( no need to root ): https://vancedapp.com/
- Magisk, needs to be flashed in custom recovery: http://www.mediafire.com/file/vzf3re143yb68uc/Magisk-v21.1.zip/file
- Google Camera. You will need to install "Remove Google Camera" module in Magisk first if you have it already installed in your rom, the link for this module is this one: http://www.mediafire.com/file/bhm6dhrrnqiar2d/RemoveGCam.zip/file
Google Camera ( if you don't have it already installed as default camera, you can install it as any apk file, no need to root ) , this is the download link for it: http://www.mediafire.com/file/eogevstxhlq0yvv/MGC+7.4.201+Parrot043+V1.1.apk/file
- L1 Security patch that will make Netflix stream more than SD: https://www.mediafire.com/file/85mrfht25lzjfjx/DRM_L1_Patch.zip/file
( needs to be installed in Magisk )
- I also changed the default launcher because it's not that customizable, and I found this launcher to be more customizable and well optimized:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/p6uxixksr05w17w/Systemless_ShadyLauncher-v1.5.zip/file
- If you want to have Dolby Atmos install these Magisk modules ( Install in this order ):
1. Audio Modification Library: http://www.mediafire.com/file/wigiq7cxf488frr/1.Audio_Modification_Library-v4.0(55).zip/file
2. Audio Configuration Database:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/hwj1zqs2a695hrz/2.ACDB-0.49.zip/file
3. Restart after you installed the first and the second module.
4. Dolby Atmos:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/zhu8i4o3tpflxlf/4.DolbyAtmos.zip/file
- Dark boot animations to not kill my eyes when I boot my phone in the evening  :
Android 10: https://www.mediafire.com/file/d4r6edkq5y9xl98/Android-10-Dark-Bootanimation-%28v1.0%29.zip/file
EvolutionX:
EvoX DARK Bootanimation systemless
MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

All these files I shared with you I am sure that have no viruses. I hope that I helped you and I have a question for you guys: What is the best combo for your needs? What custom rom and what kernel?
?thanks

Always glad to help!
Please Hit Thanks if you love this tutorial It really helps a lot!
I use PE + with stock kernel without any tweaks and I get about 8 hours sot.
Those tweaks just **** up performance and multitasking
So in terms of performance it is worse

Everyone has their own personal opinion. But I don't think that restricting apps to work in the background, Naptime or disable some bloatware can negativity affect the performance. On the contrary, it should improve performance and battery life.

Yeah ofc
Everybody uses their smartphones differently.
I use lot of multitasking.
Before i had miui it was so agresive on killing apps. That's why i switched and i use PE and it's beautiful.
And I tried storm breaker.. little difference in battery Life but it wasn't that smooth and fast as stock kernel.
At least for me

It doesn't have any effect multitasking in any way. The apps still don't refresh after leaving them in the background, the apps remains normal.
Use PE plus +Predator 9.1 very good working.
Best sound mod for lavender.
