Hello, i've been using gingerdx 31b for some time, and during that time I always have been experiencing the camera bug wich ive read around these forums, occurs on several different ROMS, the bug im talking about is the one where the camera turns black after taking several photos in a row (i generally cant take more than 3), wich is pretty bothering, so id like to ask you if there is any current ROM where this issue does not occur.
As I said, im currently running gingerdx 31b with alfs kernel, it is the only ROM I have ever tried as I dont have a lot of free time to test other ROMS.
Thanks.
There's a fix for this bug I think ,if I found the link to thread I'll post here

How is gingerdx better than any other rom?
gingerdx haas soo maany problems that not even dx can solve...
no offence but its kinda true. battery problem , accselomeater problem... and many many more. if anything from 100% - 0% half day. v.v thats teribble for the greatest rom cooker in x8 forum . Dx you have made soo many great modules and roms ... why ginger dx is soooo bad? v.v
i've used GingerDX before but recently with the new version some bugs came out... right now im using FD Experience ROM, and it is a stable ROM and also looks like the original stock ROM of SE... just install the v1.0.0... its better i think!

since when? this is the original rom for the X8, not the X10Mini port...
FD Experience is much better that GingerDX!!!
FD Xperience is my present ROM, and i'm satisfied with it,
its like you are using the stock SE ROM but with so many features,
and a very fast and smooth gingerbread rom
(you can notice it after flashing this ROM),
much better to others as i experienced 'cause
I've already tested so many roms so far this one
don't give me regrets, actually i'm surprised with it....

why not.
but this engine ported for GDX first.
I don't know but I am more satisfied with GC than I was with GingerDX. My father has installed GDX and it is SOOOO laggy with 90MB RAM. I always get 30-40 MB RAM on GC and it's faster (and I really like the Xperia look )

There is a fix for that. Go to GC settings, performance, lock home on memory.

Ive read the forums this problem existed before and its back or it was never fixed. Anyone found whats cosing the problem? Please share.
I did full wipe before installing and this is my first time trying cyanogenmod. Im seeing the process with Watch Dog. Never had this problem with any of the stock roms.
Ive tested the miui rom also it uses the same karnel and i think its karnel related because the same thing happens on miui rom. Anyone can point me to a custom karnel that i can try?
Tnx in advance.

Just because it also happens on MIUI does not neccessarily mean it is down to the kernel. MIUI is based on CM so could quite possibly just be a bug in CM.
Dont post this in the dev section, what do you think the Q & A section is for? AAARGH

Hey there, after awhile finally I made an effort making my first post on xda.
I have flashed many kernels, starts from cf-root b82, b83, b84, blackhawk oc kernel, zimagemod.
I faced this problem: a random clicks when I clicked somewhere on the screen, it's always clicked itself randomly around the halfway down the screen on the left side. It only happens when I use OC kernel like b83, b84, blackhawk oc with >480MHz frequency. Please help me I don't know wether it's a repost or not but I can't find similar problems/fixes. Currently I'm in Gingerbread DXKPB, random ROM, but it happens with any rom with OC kernel.

yes it happened only when I use b83 and b84 on stock rom or CM7 with blackhawk oc (zimage-mod doesn't have oc enabled) and cpu speed above 480MHz
I don't know why lot of people didn't have the problem at all
I've had the same situation and it is annoying when I'm texting cause suddenly it changes from alphabet to symbols

On the contrary, I recommend Alfs v08a CM7.
It has MUCH better overall performance than nAa and benchmarks prove it.
I've never had a problem with Alfs and I've tested both kernels on many ROMs, so I know.
no improvements frens....wat to do...should i change the kernel??? if yes then plz send me link of that kernel....
How about posting your present kernel?
Anyway, there shouldn't be problems with kernel if you use Alfs CM7 v08a or nAa 13/14
Do you have a .vcf backup on your card? That's necessary in order to be able to restore contacts.
As for the wifi...maybe even a kernel problem. Try reflashing one of the aforementioned ones

That counts for Alfs too! I had nAa for a long time and decided to switch to Alfs because it performs much better in benchmark, esp. the uncapped version. No problems with nAa kernel, but. Alfs is still fully functional and very fast.

i had the same problems. here's what i did:
For contact problems:
1. wiped out everything in recovery (full factory reset)
2. re-installed joyos
For wi-fi (do this after you have re-installed joyos because if not you will have the same wi-fi error):
1. turn on wifi and try to download anything from google play
2. turn of your phone while your wi-fi is on and DLing.
3. turn on phone and see that its downloading.
hope this helps, if not please don't blame me.
It's sad to watch all these new ROM'S and kernel's here knowing you can't have them because u can't unlock your bootloader....
And ROM'S compactible with stock kernel are sometimes(70% of time)slow.
I've realized that now aftee getting motherboard with date number 12W03
Now I know how it feels...to be limited :'(
Don't think I am complaining because I'm not,I just want to bring back a little development for stock kernel to show us,stock kernel users that we are not forgotten.
With this thread I am asking someone of you developers to make really lightweight, smooth ROM.
I know you are busy with developing for nAa or some other kernel but I think that other stock kernel user, will agree with me.
Sorry for your time and thanks for reading this!
Please don't tell that there are already plenty of good ROM'S for stock kernel user because there are not...no offense....I a just saying that most of them are slow and laggy

Well, stock is ungrateful and painful in development. I don't like to re-stock 50 times, root 50 times, put recovery etc. and still don't know what's going on because logcat doesn't even start. So I wouldn't expect so many ROMs.
And hey, it's 2013 adn X8 was released in 2010 so it's like using Celeron 433 MHz now

Definitely worth a try. But the latest iterations of GingerDX work great. Probably even better when lots of apps are installed. Tho I didn't tried MiniCM6 with the A2SD script I'm using now.

I don't know what you mean by lightweight. GingerDX is pretty standard when it comes to the apps that come with it. Besides anything you don't like can just be uninstalled using Titanium Backup.
