Older 2011 sony devices have a test point but does the 2012 Xperia T have a test point?
The battery can't be removed so without taking it apart no unfortunately
Sent from my LT30p using xda premium
Yes it does have a test point that can be accessed without the need for removing the back cover, but the test point method of unlocking the boot loader has been closed by Sony so it does not matter any way
Sent from my star trek communicator

I reckon that unlocking the bootloader will work either through a security exploit that one of the crazy good devs like adam outler, binary, or their kind will find, or someone stumbles across
The right way with the TA. Just my bit to add.

So only Sony ( aka Sony Repair Center ) themselves can use the test point

When Sony uses EMMA with their Identification, Do they do everything in Flash mode or test point? Lets say Sony was labeling new phones as unlocked or locked would they use the test point or would they just put a generic .TA file on the phone using flashmode
thanks

I don't know.
But the person who told me about the test point will know and would have made a breakthrough by now. He has told me its a dead end now, Sony have closed that exploit and a new one needs to be found
Well the xperia TL has test point and you dont have to unplug the battery for it( i removed battery plug to better show the connections, but the thing is that idk which of those is the test point? and if it needs a ground?

It`s not me, it`s FCC
Excellent find. Thanks.
Was interested in how they actually did connect the battery, if they were just imitating Apple on the outside and put a regular battery in, with regular connectors but sealed the back cover. I see they didnt. Which is something good in something fundamentally bad
yep it's easy to open the back of phone but i was septic for revert the battery . but if it's possible maybe we have a chance to unlock the bootloader with testpoint technic

There is one screw under the sim/mem card slot. Take that out. you can then use something thin to separate the back cover from the rest of the phone.
Its a bit stiff but it will come off.
I have had my cover off.
BUT be careful around the usb port as the plastic there is thin and can and will snap if your not gentle with it around that area.

Sent from my LT30p using xda app-developers app
Pardon my ignorance, but what is a test point?
Not to worry, we're all learners here! The test point, as far as I am concerned/aware, is a way of unlocking the bootloader through a more physical process than just flashing something. I'm not sure how it works, nor what the "official" use of it is but it's been mentioned several times in other Xperia device forums so I'm looking into them at the moment for a way to unlock my bootloader with rooting status: no.

Yeah, the test point unlock, remember that from my good ol' days with my Xperia Neo V. I'm not sure what its actual use was in terms of its official design, but it was shorted out in the process and allowed for the unlocking without having to go through the official Sony unlocking process, pretty much allowing for you to relock it and still retain warranty, DRM wasn't wiped, etc. But if you accidentally used the wrong point, the phone bricked. ^^"

So Facebook Home have been annonced. Looks pretty nice to me!
To break down the question:
"Will Facebook Home run on the Xperia Z?"
I can't see why not?
And what about you guys? Are ya' going to give it a try?
Sent from my C6603 using xda app-developers app
It might not be compatible "out of box" so you might see "your device is not compatible" message in Play Store. I'm sure they will make it work pretty soon unofficially - and remember that Sony signed up for FB Home program so official support for Sony devices will come soon, even if it won't be supported at launch.
As for the second question, no I won't use it as I really don't like facebook and think it should die as soon as possible
Well for me: They can keep it - i don't want it
android notifications don't show in facebook home
no thanks
The first thing I did with my brand new Xperia Z was disabling Facebook and uninstall all the other social media garbage. So no, I won't try it 'cause I couldn't care less.

If I rooted the xperia z, what access will I lose (drm). Track Id, and BE 2 .

I think if you just root the device the only thing you might lose is the functionality of NFC, but there is a simple after fix to restore it.
It's when you unlock the bootloader you lose the DRM Keys; Bravia Engine, Track ID etc.. oh and Waterproofing

unlocking bootloader will lose the phone's waterproofing properties?
I'm 100% sure you do not know what you're talking about.
being waterproof depends on the hardware, not the software. If you still can't understand, try googling it yourself

Hi guys,
I bought my phone about 2 weeks ago. In the first week I noticed a problem in my phone; there's a missing area at the bottom of my LCD (below soft keys). The area shows some noises (something like the reflections of the pages I open with my phone, e.g. Settings menu, Walkman app, anywhere in my phone). Actually this problem is so annoying and I'm gonna send the phone back to the Sony (The phone has warranty). Here's my question; does Sony replace the phone? Or it just repairs it?!
Thanks in advance

Try one of the following:
1. Do a factory reset from the phone (Setting - Backup & reset)
2. Use the Sony flash tool and try a manual flash of your ROM
If the above does not work then you will have to take it the Service Guys. They will check the piece and then replace it if required. I had my phone replaced as I had camera issues in less than 2 weeks of my ownership post which I have not had any issues.

A few more things to mention:
* When I take a screenshot, everything is fine and the area below the soft keys isn't missing!
* At the first days, the missing area was appeared when phone was heaten a bit... But now (for about a week) the area is permanently missing!
It's much like hardware problem, I guess.

It's look like a line of dead pixels or LCD but in this case, if that is a Hardware problem you should see in that part of the screen problems in any conditions. Can you do a test, reboot your phone and look at the bottom of the screen where the line is, do you see something wrong?
If the LCD is dead but you take a screenshot logically the line is missing because is not recognize as the LCD is the problem.
I think you should send it to repair via Warranty, just to be sure.
BTW, you can also flash a Stock FTF from different region but for your model only, to check if it a system failure, using flashtool v.0.9.16 (it will not void your warranty).
My Z1 is broken after a major fall. It is outside the accident damage protection of six months but inside overall warranty. I get to understand that I will have to pay to get it replaced. Any idea on the price that I have to pay? If it makes sense I will get it replaced or else will buy a new one considering the price drop.
Hello,so since i got my phone ive repeatedly had issues with regards my screen being affected. For some reason when im charging my phone and pick it up or hold it in a certain way,a thin little line appears right in the centre of my screen that does not go away for the longest time. Its happened since day one and has happened with both my Sony USB-C cables that were supplied with my phone. Is anyone else experiencing this sort of issue when charging,or is it just me? Is there any fix for this as im worried that somedy the line will appear and not go away
