Problem with flashing SuperSU to root - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I posted in the all in one tool thread but didn't get any responses yet, so I thought I'd try the Q&A forum..
I unlocked bootloader, flashed CWM, and flashed SuperSU.zip. I received no error messages, but after I reboot, there is no SuperSU installed. If I try to install it from the play store I get "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!" when opening it.
I have tried this installation many times over, even sideloading SuperSU and also tried to install superuser.zip but that gave me an error message saying can't mount or write to /tmp/update.zip or something.
Code:
ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.3.0
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
-- Installing: /sdcard/SuperSU.zip
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_install
E:failed to open last_install: Invalid argument
Finding update package

- Creating space
- Extracting files

Would someone please help me figure out what could possibly be wrong?

What is your issue? Its a 2 years old thread, I'm sure your issue is not exactly the same. What recovery version are you using? What supersu version? What is your rom version?

Yeah sorry I finally realized what stupid mistake I made... I was attempting to root my wife's phone to disable carrier iq, but u was using an old supersu zip... I finally got that to work and now I'm working on disabling carrier IQ using system tuner... I just wish there was a way to completely get rid of it as a whole, but disabling it will have to do... Thanks

Won't boot past boot screen

Hi everyone! I'm new here, please don't shout at me!
Basically, I've been rooting and installing recoveries images all night. But I've run into a problem. I was going to flash to the Super-Hybrid HD-Desire ROM by MicroMod777 (link to thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=784260) but it won't install, and now won't boot past the Nexus colour logo with the unlock bootloader padlock symbol at the botom. Here is what I did to get to this stage:
Followed these guides: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.ph...l_Update_Guide
http://androidandme.com/2010/01/hack...t-a-nexus-one/
I then downloaded said ROM and put it in my SD card like it said, and booted into ClockWork from ROM Manager. I tried to flash it, but it didn't work, coming up with this error:
E:Can't mount/dev/block/mmcblk0p2
(File exists)

E:Can't mount SDEXT:
E:Failure at line 24:
copy_dir PACKAGE:ext SDEXT:
Installation aborted.
I then did a factory wipe, and that didn't work, so I wiped the cache partitions. Nothing worked, always the same error. I also did a backup before I tried to flash for the first time, I've tried to restore that, but it doesn't work either; it also says that it can't mount SD-EXT, but I don't know if this is the error.
I can still get into the bootloader (trackball + power buton) and get to recovery through there, and I saw someone say in a thread here that if you can get into the bootloader it is basically impossible to be bricked. The phone will also not mount when I connect it to the PC, however the PC knows it's there, as I can see the phone, and on fastboot's menu it says 'fastboot usb'.
I hope some of you guys can help me! I really do love my phone, I need it ASAP! Ideally, I'd get onto the ROM I mentioned above, but restoring it to factory settings would also be perfect. Whatever is easier!
Thanks

This is also in the General section, but I realised I posted it in the wrong section. Sorry.
EDIT: Just completed this tutorial and it worked! I am now back to where I started! I'll post in this thread if I have any more problems!
LINK doesnt work in your EDIT
Edit: i did this :
fastboot, unlock, flash clockwork recovery, nandroid

Problem with NookColor, need quick advice!

I'm trying to update my bro-in-laws nook from an old CM7 nightly (somewhere around 23 I think??) to 7.0.3 but I'm having a problem with clockwork recovery...I downloaded RomManager and flashed ClockworkMod. I then tried to backup and update my rom, but as soon as it restarted in recovery, it says
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cach/recovery/last_log
and won't allow me to do anything with it....I try to backup manually and it says can't access data or something like that. any advice would be great and hopefully fast, he's only in town for another 2 or 3 hours!
I had this happen before when I chose the wrong CWR to flash to recovery. From within ROM Manager, select 'flash clockworkmod recovery'. When asked to select your device, choose 'nook color', NOT 'nook color old'. The option for 'nook color old' isn't even available on the newer versions of Rom Manager, but it was there on older versions. Make sure you update Rom Manager, then reflash CWR as above, and it should then work.
Thank you! your post reminded me that the older versions of Nightly's (pre 7.0.1) had the problem of not showing all the apps in the market, so Rom Manager wasn't there, so I didn't think it needed updating...once I updated it allowed me to install the newest version of CWR and fixed (almost) all the problems!

Does it reboot on going to recovery? If recovery is still accessible try clearing data, cache and dalvik.
Smart Flash Tool doesn't touch cache, userdata,nv,fota or lgdrm.
Try patching it with a different recovery.
i installed aroma file manager and deleted recovery folder which includes log and last_log files on cache
now it is ok.
i wiped cache and formatted too.
but it didnt deleted.
i deleted manually and problem solved
thnx

Unable to install superuser.zip binaries

Hello,
premise that I've already seen this and this, I am not able to install su binaries because of the problem described in the first link.
This is the first messages I see on recovery:
ClockworkMod Recovery v6.0.4.3
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/command
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/log
E:Can't mount /cache/recovery/last_log
E:Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log
The only way I have to install a .zip file is using sideload but even installing SuperSU or Superuser, in both cases I am not able to get su binaries installed. I've followed all the guides mentioned in the FAQs (i.e. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7GCnbjO1zw and this) but I guess something wasn't gone fine because of the mount problems above.
Could somebody help me please? The topics I've found here didn't help so far.

Uhh.. is your variant the Sprint variant (m7wls)? Or the international variant (m7_u or m7_ul)?

How can I check that?
As far as I understand mine should be the UL variant (having both GSM & LTE radio).

Go into the boot loader by pressing POWER+VOL DOWN. It should say the device name at the very top.

Thanks,
this is what I see in the boot loader:
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.57.0000
Maybe the fact it's still S-ON is also a problem isn't it?
EDIT: I've also found this. Do I have to install this recovery or this one instead?
I reply to myself!
I've finally solved the problem both with su binaries and mount messages installing the Philz Touch Recovery I've mentioned two rows above.
