Am I the only one getting this message when I boot the phone? Thought it was a little strange.
I have the tmobile HTC one.
The phone also registered as a European one when I was syncing with Google.

Where did you get it from? That message appears after unlocking bootloader.
Got it from tmobile website after waiting for an hour for their servers to let me login.
I did unlock bootloader so that explains it. I just thought it was strange for a phone to say that after unlocking.
I guess the tmobile HTC one is really a modified European model.

I also have had NO ISSUES WHAT SO EVER when installing custom roms or kernels through aroma etc. Works first time every time even though I'm s-on!

That message comes when installing any custom kernel and not on stock ones .. nothing to do with bootloader status

This is why I opted out of getting an AT&T branded one and went Unlocked from HTC. This way when HTC pushes it to US market I won't be waiting 2mo for AT&T to inject their adware.

I almost did the same thing as you (I previously used the international unlocked versions of the Galaxy s2 and s3 for this exact reason but I was bummed that I couldn't get LTE on the S3 since the unlocked version only supports HSPA+). However it turns out that you can just unlock the bootloader on the AT&T One and install ROMs from the regular/unlocked One forum, and you will still have working LTE on the proper AT&T bands. Frankly I am thrilled to finally have an AT&T LTE phone that can use ROMs with the most current code from the international community that is much greater in size and therefore will have a much better ROM choice; it's the best of both worlds. Two of the most popular ROMs (TrickDroid and ARHD which are based on 1.29 firmware) specifically say in their respective OP's that you can install their ROMs on all U.S. variants of the One (except for maybe the Sprint model according to mike1986). During the installation, there is a script (made by Patrics83) that will install the AT&T specific files, settings and such.

I hear ya, I had the AT&T S3 and the wait was gruelling. Since then I've gotten over having to have the latest updates. Might be because Sense5 isn't so bad. I didn't think I would miss LTE when I had my Nexus 4. Bonus of the unlocked One using AT&T LTE out of the box has been great
Hi guys
I have a black Australian unlocked Telstra HTC One, but there is no sign of any OTA's from Telstra any time soon...
I am wanting to flash a WWE RUU on to it so that I am not carrier restricted
Am I able to flash an Asian WWE RUU over the Telstra one? Has anyone done this yet?
I'm not exactly experienced in the world of Android HTC and their various flashing methods, but would flashing via the RUU be any different to rooting your phone and flashing another custom or stock ROM?
I only say this because my Telstra HTC One was rooted after I bought it and it is now running a custom ROM flashed via CWM recovery and no longer has any Telstra branding.
Edit: I now understand where you are coming from now. I wouldn't have thought you could flash an original ROM based on another phone CID and I can't imagine being able to change your CID without first unlocking the bootloader which kind of defeats the original purpose as you'll end up with a "tampered" phone one way or another.
You can do it but you'll need to change your CID to match the RUU you're going to run.
I'm not sure if you're able to do this with only boatloader unlock any more.

Dang... Oh well, I'll see if I like the HTC1 first, then decide on grabbing a black one from Expansys or Kogan when they have the international unbranded quickly updated versions.. Waiting for updates from Telstra is like men having babies - not happening anytime soon
any luck?

hey man, any luck finding a HTC One Telstra RUU yet? I'm in the same boat. ive been waiting 6 months and still no RUU, been emailing and calling HTC loads and nobody is bothering to help or care. I dont need the RUU, but its good to have just in case.
The only decent piece of info ive managed to get was about HTC Australia authorized repair center.
So basically the company that do repairs in Aus are FoneBiz. They told me today when i called them, that even if you have rooted/unlocked bootloader etc, they will try their best to do an In-Warranty service, but if their system wont recognize the phone, then it'll be an Out of Warranty service.
The Good news is that since the HTC One is pretty much unrepairable, as far as being able to actually get into the handset, is that FoneBiz will just do a full handset replacement. In-Warranty its obviously free, but Out of Warranty is only around $280. So essentially you get a brand new HTC One for less than $300.
So anyone with a Telstra handset who has broken/bricked HTC One, at least you know you can get a brand new replacement for under $300, possibly even free!

Hi,
I recently purchased a HTC One over here in the UK and a few weeks later, the phone got blacklisted. As I was massively out of cash I tried to eBay it and listed it with a bad IMEI/ESN. Somebody in the States got back to me and offered a swap with a Verizon HTC One. I'm not too experienced with the phone but I seem to remember hearing that a Verizon HTC One sometimes requires different methods for rooting or installing ROMs to the international versions. Can anybody guide me here whether or not I should be able to use the phone and root it/flash ROMs as I would with my original?
Thanks.

Installing ROMs are identical to the International One. Now, the bootloader unlock for the Verizon One doesn't happen through HTCdev. Rumrunner is required for unlocking the bootloader and S-OFF. Once the bootloader is unlocked, the custom recovery is flashed the same way as the International variant. Rooting is also the same.
However, there are certain issues with bootloader unlocking the Verizon One on Kitkat 4.4.2. Im not too sure about that, the Verizon forum for the One should guide you more in that area.
And, the ROMs for the Verizon will be listed on the Verizon One Android Development, not on the International One forum. There aren't as many ROMs for the Verizon as compared to International unlocked

If you're not on Verizon in the States, do NOT buy it. Pretty sure it won't work outside the US

Have you checked the Verizon HTC One forum, they would know more than us in this forum. The Verizon phone has different radio and partitions than the GSM phones here. In addition, Verizon put a stop on allowing HTCDev for unlocking the device. Firewater S-OFF is one of the schemes that can work with your phone.

If your fully updated to 4.4.2/Sense 6, sunshine MAY be your only option, n it works quite well. And as far as the price u refuse to pay, its really quite low if you look into how many man-hours and bricked devices went into making Rooting and S-offing our phones POSSIBLE. Honestly its just about the only way now on a Verizon One and its quite efficient, and if it weren't for Jcase and Beaups, all of us who didn't S-off before the Sense 6 OTA Would still be in the dark. Not trying to be rude, but having a Verizon HTC One myself that I didn't root unti after the sense 6 OTA, chances are, if you're THAT Determined to root it, you're gonna end up goin with Sunshine. Also consider that $25 helps them with future research and development on this phone, and if you look back in the threads, majority of the exploits for this phone were brought to us by them…
Thanks I finally have in and bought it worked fine
Hello I bought an M9 in a local online store. When I received it today it was already opened! When I checked it is already in Marshmallow with 3.41.651.4. A quick google search says this software is from Sprint? But I bought I bought an international unlocked model.
So I checked the bootloader and it was locked, but already S-OFF! I then went to recovery and to my surprise TWRP booted. Also going to recovery I get this black splash screen with HTC logo on it. Is this normal? All the videos I watch entering the recovery they get white splash screen with green HTC logo.
Also the reboot menu is different. I have attached some images.
I also can not get 4G signal with it! will this work? http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/general/how-to-change-network-bands-gsm-devices-t3135401 I think since Sprint ROM was initially loaded maybe I am having different baseband/modem?
Anyway I have successfully unlocked the bootloader, with this is fake?
Thanks!

First of all, this is M7 forum, so you're in a wrong place.
Second - it's not fake, it's a genuine HTC M9, but a used one. If it was fake, you wouldn't be able to unlock your bootloader via htc dev or any tool for HTC.
So, to conclude - you were scamed because you bought a second hand phone under impression it was new. Also, a Sprint version, and seller told you it was international. You figure out your next step - return it, or keep using it although it's not what you payed for
agreed with the guy above. since it's got s-off then either it really was an international phone but whoever had it before you messed with it flashing a different firmware, ROM, and recovery, Or whoever sold it to you lied about the fact that it's a used sprint phone.
Whatever you do next is up to you. But next time you buy something online (not just a phone), I would advise you to choose a reputable eBay seller with a clear return policy.
Best of luck.

And if it was fake, there wouldn't even have an HTC bootloader loaded on it
Unfortunately this "buy an international variant - get a Sprint/Verizon variant" scam is pretty common, even from reputable Ebay sellers, who most of time dont know much about the phones they are selling and use the wrong information. This is exactly what happened when I bought my M7, checked the PID# to be sure I was buying a M7_UL and got a M7_U.....
^True.. that's why a clear return policy is a must. You can change everything about this phone since it's got s-off, but the idea of getting something other than what you paid for sounds unacceptable to me.
