No. It kills them when the phone is asleep to let the battery discharge slower. If you want them - turn off ESM

X8 Battery

exuse me for my english
i bayed a new x8 phone before 5 days !
i think my phone is draining battry
so please how much days can you x8 phone can work without charging !
It depends My record was nearly 5 days without charging But I wasn't using it at all Just to check what time is it. Now it's more than 2 days (200+ SMS, phone calls, WiFi).
If You think Your phone is draining battery - turn off gsm data, use only 2g, turn off GPS etc Smartphones are not old phones, like Nokia 3310
+1
right answer
Agree for the above Answer..
Tipont charge too often..charge only when it is <5/10 %
every think is ok , evry think is desactivated ; i can use my phone only for one days , making normal thinks
like checking time or opening some apps ( not games)
please tell me how to solve this problem
my phone is new !!
for exemple my phone is 100/100 charged in 01:00 am
now it is 11:24 am , my phone have only 80/100 in charge ; and i have using it only for a couple minutes ; making one call !
What apps did You install? Download any task killer / task manager / ram manager. It should help.
im using advanced task killer latest version !
GingerDX on Stock Kernel with smartass CPU governor at default min/max CPU speeds (no overclock) and occasional usage - up to three days.
Now the question is ...
- Did you turn off GPS as recommended?
Turn off "Mock Locations" if it's enabled - it's a known bug in Gingerbread that having this setting enabled can cause battery drain.
- Do you turn off Wifi when not needed?
Since most people set the "Wifi sleep policy" to "Never" because of connection issues this can also be the source of your problem.
- Do you turn off 2G/3G when not needed?
Like with WiFi it should only be turned on when you need to access the Internet. Letting either WiFi or 2G/3G "sit there" because you have to be logged into Skype/GTalk/MSN/... does not help battery life.
If you're on the Stock ROM - that beast had a worse battery life for me than any custom ROM.
im sure that all off thinks are turned off
i turn WIFi only for some times then i turn it offf !
i still get the battery drain
!!!
what is the solution !
Turning off *Background data* and not just only *sync* provided a boost to my battery life.
I suggest the above
Actually,I think that you must dimmer the backlight of your phone~~
My battery has lost 10% in one night。
Battery drain is normal for our x8
Sent from my X8 using XDA
overclock your phone. you can set to lower cpu speed when the screen turn off. this help my phone not drain the battery at night.
Highly variable but
- battery capacity
- ROM type
- kernel
- 3G/HSDPA
- WiFi
- Android version
- screen-on time
- apps
- overclocking
to mention a few. Not to mention the inherently variable nature if X8 hardware.
My xperia 8's battery takes for 2 days max. And without wi-fi. This is smart phone, it's normal when battery charges out fast. Becides between the price and quality i think it's the best choice.
that's weird...
if you already turned off data, wifi, GPS, sync, bluetooth and everything else, it should be last longer...
please make sure again you already turned them off and only turn them on only when needed...

TX_JB battery drain so crazy

after flashed JB ROM, I rooted my Xperia TX with bin4ry v.26 tool ( and installed SU ) and installed CWM v6. Then i test my battery with checked option in Battery extend option. After one hour, battery of my phone lost 18% . Grrr.. i tested again in 1 hour and i had same result. Anyone here have same issue with me and why it drained like crazy.
Sorry for my bad english
After testing with many setting, i see Battery extended stanby mode is my issue. When i turn off, battery drained as usually. Any one know how to fix ?
How many apps are running in background? What data connections do you use and how much data traffic have you got? How much display-on time do you have? How bright is your display?
On my V, the display is the one unit that sucks most of the juice. So I try to keep display brightness as low as possible (so I can still read it depending on ambient light), to keep my data off when I don't need it, and to keep unwanted or unused apps from running in the background.
But granted, the 1750 mAh batteries they put into these things are a joke.

Hm. If it still drains 18% in 1 hr, that's crazy. No idea what's happening there.
my Xperia TX drains faster in Jellybean too compare to when im using ICS
I flash back to ICS. My battery 1% can stand for 3hours if you didn't used the phone.

Mmm.. Not i don't want to use JB, cause battery really drain too fast although everything shows improvement in JB for TX update but not the battery..
Me too, JB just drains battery crazy. It's the Google Now/Gmap thing. But it doesn't drain as much in WiFi.

[Q] Battery problem

I have problem with my s3 mini.
I used stock ROM. it's still official without any root or something.
My baseband is DXAMB1.
My problem is, when I start my phone, the battery life up to 18 hours. But after 70-80 hours up time, the battery suddenly really sucks.
it just about 9-10 hours a day. For example (I forgot to screen capture), I charged my phone and full at 11 pm and then in the morning (6 am) it says my battery 50%. When I look at the battery status it says Android OS stay awakes for 6 hours.
After I restart my phone, it back to normal. When I woke up, it says 80% battery and Android OS stay awakes for 1 hours.
Everytime my battery life become sucks, I need to restart the phone.
Is anybody have the some problem with me? And how to fix this?
It just sucks that I have to restart my phone every 3 days.

Are you rooted, if yes try using Better Battery Stats from xda and find out whats draining your battery
I'm not rooted yet.
But Du Battery Saver said Android OS is draining my batteries.
Even in battery saver mode.
I will give screen shot after if it happening again.
Do you know why Android OS consumed much power?

I checked another thread and I found the answer without using any custom ROM.
He answered = "Developer option, background process up to 4 process" and it works! :fingers-crossed:

I was pretty curious about this option too, some time ago, so I googled it and finally came to the opinion that it is like using a task manager, = useless on Android, because it has its own RAM manager.
This option to limit process is what it is: for developers, to test how their eventual app handle once it goes in background, and what if once killed. (read http://www.extremetech.com/computing/112013-how-multitasking-works-on-android-and-ios/2)
My personal advice/choice for a longer life for your battery:
1 - root your device and freeze/delete bloatware (system apps: first freeze them, see how it goes, then, delete them (after making a backup)
2 - use
A) Juice Defender (balanced or aggressive), set 2g connection when the device is in your pocket,
B) Use Wakelock Detector to check what most consumes your battery (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector&hl=en)
3 - use wifi and 3g only when needed, - don't count on the smartness of automatic mode 2g/3g under data
4 - switch off syncronization if you don't need it 24h (whatsapp / viber will work anyway)
5 - settings / display /
A) Auto adjust display tone ON
B) Turn off softkeys (I know exactly where 'back' and 'option' keys are..)
6 - Power saving mode ON for screen and cpu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XTLTBo2DRQA)
7 - Disable double tap on home button for S-Voice (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmU8hXUXNFE)
8 - Keep normally a mid-low brightness level, you can adjust it quickly if needed, can't you?
9 - Disable Auto-update in Google Play (you can update manually)
10 - How To Disable Samsung Push Service and Samsung Ad Utility Services (http://www.eyes4tech.com/2013/03/ho...e-samsung-push-service-and-samsung-ad-utility)
11 - Turn OFF vibration (actually, I like it and I use it for SMS and incoming phone calls)
12 - Set airplane mode when you go to sleep (or just switch it off if you don't count on it for morning alarm or to use it as an eventual light)
13 - Never use a Task manager
Assuming you're enough smart for keeping Bluetooth OFF if you don't need it, by this way, according to my daily use (phone calls, texting, internet, no gaming), I recharge it each 1d 15/22 hrs.
Hopefully this helps. :cyclops:

[Q] Phone Idle Battery Drain Issue Sony Xperia SP

Hello,
I have just left my phone yesterday night @ 12am (battery 87%) with Data OFF/Wifi OFF when i wake up in the morning @ 6.30 (Battery 77%) how ? is there any application through which i can monitor the services which actually eat up the battery ? Because i had no issues with Xperia Sola in my past at night it used around 1-2% maximum...with data/wifi off.
Please help...
Use better battery stats
This will show if app or android process is keeping phone awake.
Sent from my C5303 using xda premium
mine gives me 1.4% /hr drain with stamina mode on, i dont even have wifi/data turned on last night.
battery info shows a lot of awake time but the battery stat apps says the phone was in deep sleep 99.1% of the time
i am confused
You seem to have the same problem I describe here 3G and Battery drain
I haven't found any solution yet. Seems to be related to the "Cell Radio"... so, it must be a software problem. The only thing we can do is wait for a new upgrade of the Baseband software. Until that, i recommend you to use the "Only 2G" mode.
Greetings

Use GSM Only network. Turn on stamina mode. It will kill all apps without phone calls, sms, mss, and apps on whitelist.
It will also turn off wifi and data packages when screen is off BUT it will keep/hold your IP number, so when you wake up the phone you will have acces to internet immediately. Whit this options when i fully charge my device, at about 10PM i had 100%. I went to sleep, wake up at 5AM and I still had 100%.
WHen you only turn off wifi and data apps in background will be try to connect and work in background as well. Fact is that you will not recieve any MMS messages with Data OFF.
So. First of all. USE STAMINA MODE

Stamina isn't your solution. What makes Stamina Mode is stop data traffics and wifi, when the screen turns off. But you say that the battery drains happens even when you have data and wifi off. So... Stamina Mode will not help you much.

[Q] [Xperia V] Bizarre and excessive battery drain

Hi!
I'm another owner of the great Xperia V mobile phone. I have it three months ago and I tried the all posibilities and tricks of all threads that I have seen, here and in another forums, but I haven't gotten nothing, so I wanted to ask if there are someone with the same problem or I'm the only that have it.
In the pictures that I attach, it can see the strange battery function... I have got activated the pseudo-stamina mode and while the phone is in standby the curve is flat until I activate it and the battery level falls. This morning when I activated it from standby, the level was 97% and in ten minutes it was marking 87%.
All I have tried:
-Remove/freeze all bloatware that I could
-Disable some google services that I saw here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25974243
-Activate the pseudo stamina mode
-Back to ICS
But none solution found. The currentwidget when is in standby marks 20 mA as minimum.
Any explanation to this?
Sorry for my english.
Mobile Data REALLY EATS OUR BATTERY..
try using your phone with mobile data disabled and see if it still drains quickly..
To my opinion this is typical behaviour for a phone where there are frequent .apk /software / setup changes done.
Thanks but...
I don't made any change in any app and in plane mode, the battery has the same behaviour...
One thing that I observed is that when I turn off the phone and I back turn on the battery level has grew, for example from 18% to 50%...
I calibrated the battery too! :silly:
