Build.prop - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Several weeks ago I found some great build.prop tweaks which worked with the z (e.g. for saving battery) and helped a lot.
But since I needed to reset my Z (bad sound mod) all is gone, so I searched alot for this tweaks (google, xda) and couldnt find them anymore, so I tested some general build.prop tweaks (for all android) I found at xda. But that led to bootloops...
Soooo:
Does anybody know where I can find those which work with the z ?!

Wanted to add, that most of the build.prop-tweaks regarding battery saving may be useless according to this blog:
http://www.jeffmixon.com/examining-build-prop-tweaks-android-ics-comprehensive-guide-part-2/
I can also partially confirm that. Didn't see any difference in my battery life e.g. with ...sleep_mode=1.
BUT e.g. the wifi tweak (...scan_interval=180) and some others (ui-related) seem to work. Need more testing

Stamina Mode in Xperia T - shame on u Sony

so after update to JB Xperia P has got Stamina mode like in Xperia Z and Xperia T still doesnt?
I don't understand why people are so butt hurt over not having stamina mode.
We have the exact same thing 'extended standby mode' except it's not a fancy graphic... Just a gimmick anyway nothing is different.

I dont really miss it either. Extended standby is great enough, when i dont have my charger with me at night i use extended standby and my battery only goes down 1-2%.

Turn your 3G off, same result. Jesus there are much worse issues, random reboots, bootloaders permanently locked for some unlucky users (me). Every high end phone I use I see a shame on devs who worked hard for months on strict guidelines and crap pay thread wah wah. There will be minor issues with any phone. When you get a bigger fault like my rebooting or the partition error that causes some iconia b1s to brick themselves after software upgrade then complain. Until then buy an iPhone and shut up

yes, there are wakelocks from google services and android system, which you can not get rid off (at least I was desperately trying...)..you get it with all Sony Custom ROMs and all kernels, but also with CM and its derivates like MIUI...
It is mainly Alarm Manager (nothing to do with clock!) and Event Log Service...there are dozens of threads around the forums here, but nothing helped to solve the issues...maybe someone knows a solution

Yup, so i dont blame sony at all. My phone sleeps pretty good after .141 update. Disabling the facebook app and using a 3rd party app also helped a lot with that. That official facebook app is pure crap.

Some people still have audio issues. The extended standby isn't a problem...

Yes I have been looking everywhere for a solution and I will keep looking for it. This is the most annoying wakeup problem. I don't even know what it does.. Anyway hope that if you find a solution somehow be kind enough to make a thread about it

Google can be reduced by turning off "backup my data" and auto sync. As for android system those are necessary functions and it will always be there, the amount it drains depends on the efficiency of both the ROM and the parts (radio etc) in the device. Same goes for mobile standby, except this can be reduced by having 3G off. Basically don't use functions/apps you don't need, that's the only way to save battery

that's not the issue - I know how to save battery. My point: even if you stop all syncs, delete all data-apps, which might be rogue, stop all backup data stuff, maps connecting to Inet, etc. you still have draining the battery by these wakelocks! That's the first and only device I use (besides 2 Sammy Phones and one HTC device), where you can not stop wakelocks!

Sometimes there is just nothing you can do though. My battery life is good enough, every phone will have some wakelocks, for example tegra 3 devices are plagued by baseband_xmm_power, and my desire s had nasty mobile standby wakelocka

I agree.. My cheap Galaxy Ace (with GB) had a much better standby time with sync and data on. Anyway I think we are way off topic here and there doesn't seem to be a viable solution. So I'm out.

Same with the galaxy mini. Its just that cheap designs have parts that don't perform as well, but performance demands juice so the armv6 single core qvga/hvga designs with weak radios inherently use less power anyway, plus the roms are less bloated because of space issues. And yeah, way off topic, even if it does have some relevance

It should work, but buggy. Besides what's wrong with the normal extended mode? Isn't stamina mode just some marketing of the same thing?

[Q] Recommended apps/mods to get the most out of your Z?

Had my Z for about a week now. First thing I did after buying was promptly flash a new rom (currently using monx®'s ★ monxDIFIED ★ ESSENTIAL i1 | HONAMi) which is a great improvement over stock.
Just wondering what suggestions you guys have to get the most out of your Z.
It can be apps, games, mods etc.....to improve battery, get the most out of the display/graphics, stuff to make it even more beautiful.......etc
I'm currently using grenify which really helps with improving battery life. It's probably the only battery saver app which has really worked for me (been on Android for years now), especially when combined with stamina mode and low battery mode.

You probably know this but just incase anyone don't, in order for stamina mode and greenify to work together you have to add greenify to stamina mode in settings to let it allow greenify to run while in stamina mode

Why arent there any systemui mod for 4.2.2

Hi Everyone.
I'm just curious I don't know any modification or development of any roms or mods. I just wanna know why aren't there anyone who makes mods for systemui for any stock 4.2.2. I know that 4.2.2 have a builtin quick settings but it's not that good. I mean brightnes settings can only be set with two options and no flashlight option.
Im just putting it out there hope you can enlighten me guys.
Thanks!
+1

Ride it like you downhill it.
Because it takes a few hours to resign the system ui and getting it to work. And if you made a mistake you have to unpack again, and resign again, taking hours and hours of your time. Sony system ui can't just be repacked unfortunately, so most people don't want to take the effort

[Q] WIFI/3G Power management mod from STOCK

Hi!
I have been searching through numerous posts in our section but couldnt find the asnwer.
Is there a mod for CM10 roms that works like the original sony firmware - for auto enabling wifi based on location and disabling the 3g?
I would love to try the new CM10 roms but battery performance is much worse compared to original rom running the wifi/3g improvement.
Try the app Llama from play store.

Will decide it after 4.3 update...but till now very satisfied with everything except the camera and wifi
The bad wifi range is very annoying also the broken auto brightness.
Hopefully 4.3 can bring improvements
It is a pretty good device seeing as I came from xperia arc which it had it's faults like low internal memory, small amount of ram.
For me the Sp had decent specs like all phones it has problems. Which phone don't? WiFi, camera, could be better, will see if new update fixed anything
satisfied except for the RAM issue.

I am happy, altho there are some small bugs I can live with them
satisfied, but annoyed with:
bad camera (i seldom snap pics though)
bad ram management (walkman fc, keyboard fc, launcher redraws quite often)
touch screen sometimes loses sensitivity (leaving glove-mode switched on solves this, glove-mode doesn't need to be activated)
no led indicator in stamina mode (wth)
wifi seems weak (tbh i think it's fine, just the signal not showing true strength)
Highly Satisfied.
What I love:
-Impressive UI, It was my first Xperia Since I've been using Galaxy before. Xperia UI is MUCH better.
-Smoothness
-I love the LED illumination lights.. (But I wish it was like before that i can customize the color for some contacts even New Message or Unread.)
-Gaming Experience..
-Fast data connection..
-Good battery Life..
-Updates..
-And of Course Active Developers of this phone. )
Downsides but i can live with it:
-Camera.
-Wifi Range.
Overall.. I am Highy satisfied with my XSP C5303 experience. )
