Nfc on the one (how to) - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been trying to use NFC on my HTC one, i don't know if something is wrong because i tried using it with my friends blackberry Z10 and it just wouldn't work, i did switch on NFC from settings.
Is there something im missing?
is there an NFC sticker or something like that?
Also i won't be using NFC for google wallet or anything, just simple data transfer.
What is this sticker for that came in the packaging

Android Beam?

I want to send something over nfc to my friend who has a nexus 4. When I turn on the nfc and tap our phones together nothing happens. How do I setup android beam?

I had the exact same issue, didn't get enough time to find a solution though.
Interested in this as well
Works ok here, initiate NFC and android beam on the Nexus, get something on screen like a picture, touch phones, allow it to send, tried it with note 2 and galaxy s3.
There is an app that you can use too called Superbeam
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=superbeam
Hmm. I'll try again. I got confused because there is no android beam option under the nfc button, like there is on other phones

i had the exact problem, which initially i thought my NFC was dead...
turns out that when you put the phone back to back, the location of the NFC is not at the center of the HTC one...it is located just below the camera
so, try to align the nexus 4 (i'm not sure where is the NFC point for nexus 4, i used htc one x and galaxy nexus) to the NFC point of the HTC one...
it should work... you'll get a sound notification when both devices aligned...
don't forget to turn on NFC on both phones...

I just tried it again today with a friend and I tried to send a contact over NFC but nothing happens
When you and your friends phone touched, is there a sound notification? Make sure you hear a sound which means both devices recognises each other...
Have you tried sending others like app or pictures?

[Q] NFC questions

Never had a phone with NFC before and now I have the SP I have some questions:
1. There is a sticker on the back of my phone with an NFC logo on it, is the NFC built in to the sticker or built in to the phone itself?
2. In settings there are 2 different choices of NFC wallets, but I can't find any way to use it. How do you use it?
1. NFC is in the Device and not in the Sticker. It is toooo small .
2. With Wallet you can pay, if you have an Google Wallet Account or other Wallet Account. You hold your Phone to the NFC Cash and pay.
Android Beam is for sharing stuff easily. If you hold the backsides of the first device to the second device and press the screen you will share it. For more information use Google.

Softcard + T-Mobile? Anyone with an "Advanced Sim" able to test?

Yes, I'm aware that GWallet exists, but I'm specifically looking for confirmation or lackthereof for Softcard availability. A reddit user has confirmed that it works with ATT, but no word yet on TMO. Thanks!
For ATT (not tmobile, sorry), i cut my sim down to a nano sim and can confirm that softcard installs and loads up but I have not tried to purchase anything yet
Has anyone yet confirmed that Softcard will work on the Nexus 6 with the right SIM?
Without checking with me, the activated my phone using the SIM that came in the box. This is after I specifically asked them to use the one in my previous phone (which could have been cut down from Micro to Nano easily enough). I truly hate my local store, they're great at high pressure misleading sales, but any sort of actual support, pretty worthless.
Anyway, I went to another store and the guy cut down what he claimed was the enhanced SIM, but I never got a chance to look at it to confirm. I'm wondering if it was, because no T-Mo apps have ever auto-installed, and I'm not manually able to install Softcard. (I can't side load it because I traded in my old phone, and don't happen to know someone to copy the APK off of theirs.)
Sooo, I'm not sure if I need to root my phone (wiping everything, ugh) or attempt again to get an enhanced SIM. I figure if someone else was working fine, then I still have the wrong SIM, but if someone else had to sideload, then I have to give in and root.

Nfc mobile payments problem

Does anybody use mobile payments via NFC on X2 Pro? I cannot make it work on my EU version. Tried a few places and the terminal always says that it can't use this card.
I am using it every day with no problems. Maybe you have badly set your Google Pay.
Can you suggest how to set up nfc in gpay im unable to set it up
It works for me aswell, i did just enter my card info in gpay app, and it worked.
Check with your bank and se if your card/bank can use gpay.
perfectly working
Sadly there are no payment apps that support NFC in India
It was my fault. I wanted to pay via my banking app, but it turned out they deprecated hce payments. Gpay works well.
I also used mobile payments via NFC and I can say that there were always problems with this, which did not end. Seriously, as soon as they fixed one problem, another one would appear. Then I was looking for an online gambling payment for myself, so I needed an option that would be a little more reliable. It just pisses me off when nothing depends on me and makes me wait. Not that I'm a big IT specialist, but every time you fix something that you don't have to fix it quickly gets tired and annoying. Hopefully they'll do something about it or they'll just lose customers like they did in my case.

SBI Card pay (for SBI cards) works just fine with NFC. Not sure about other cc issuing companies.

I know I tried to use an old sprint sim in my 3Xl once I upgraded to Barbet and TMobile said that the sim was still tied to the old device. It could be that you need a never-used sim if that is even a thing. I have figured out how to double-tap the back of the device to launch an app, you could google double tap back and then have that open a flashlight/routine of some sort maybe. I believe there is also a Magisk mod released for all google devices that changes some functions of the notification/time etc. Look around more and you'll find some of your answers either in the forum here or through google search.
Good luck!
Solved!! H2O wireless problem. Got a new H2O starter SIM, the phone recognized it. Then I called H2O to swap my old number to the new number. Now I have both Fi (eSIM) and H2O SIM card working. If it did not work, the phone was going back.
Put the new SIM into the old phone it works there too.
Still looking for answers to items 2,3,4 from my first post.

2 and 3 are build into LineageOS. Don't know about shake to trigger flashlight.
Shake to trigger flashligh - Really missing the convenience. I think it was native Android feature wish Google would put it back in.

Pretty sure that's a motorola specific feature, not android. Either way, it does have it's uses.

My Samsung phones also had the feature.
I did find an app that appear to work well, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.rnazarevych.shaketorch. I needed to adjust the sensitivity to max.
I am from India, where Google missed Pixel 6 series, and Pixel 5a launch is coming soon. Should I buy 5a or wait for my brother to get it from Europe?
