I want to send something over nfc to my friend who has a nexus 4. When I turn on the nfc and tap our phones together nothing happens. How do I setup android beam?

I had the exact same issue, didn't get enough time to find a solution though.
Interested in this as well
Works ok here, initiate NFC and android beam on the Nexus, get something on screen like a picture, touch phones, allow it to send, tried it with note 2 and galaxy s3.
There is an app that you can use too called Superbeam
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=superbeam
Hmm. I'll try again. I got confused because there is no android beam option under the nfc button, like there is on other phones

i had the exact problem, which initially i thought my NFC was dead...
turns out that when you put the phone back to back, the location of the NFC is not at the center of the HTC one...it is located just below the camera
so, try to align the nexus 4 (i'm not sure where is the NFC point for nexus 4, i used htc one x and galaxy nexus) to the NFC point of the HTC one...
it should work... you'll get a sound notification when both devices aligned...
don't forget to turn on NFC on both phones...

I just tried it again today with a friend and I tried to send a contact over NFC but nothing happens
When you and your friends phone touched, is there a sound notification? Make sure you hear a sound which means both devices recognises each other...
Have you tried sending others like app or pictures?

Hi!
Maby this is a noob question
My GF just bought the IS and is happy so far except for the symbol placed in the upper left. Showing an icon of the simcard and a settings symbol attached to it. It wont dissapear.
Do you know what it mean?
Cant find it in the manual.
Regards,
/Mellon

I can't find any pics of it. But it is almost the same as the icon showing when you don't got any simcard inserted but instead of the exclamation mark next to the sim card icon there is a tiny sign looking like a cog wheel (the settings symbol).
I can't find a way to get rid of it and the phone seem to work as it should.
First I thought the sim card was too old maby. But I 'm not sure.

I assume when you drag down the status bar, i assume there is no message?
Right, I can just see the name of the provider and when clicking the name nothing happens.

Take a look @ http://androiddrawableexplorer.appspot.com/
Got this icon: 'stat_notify_sim_toolkit' ?
Here is a possible fix: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=4187128 (just read the thread)
If that doesnt work, go to back the store and demand a new sim-card
Is it this icon: 'stat_notify_sdcard_prepare' ?
If this is the case, thats not a sim-card its the sd-card who is being prepared for use, but if you have a faulty sd-card it could hang on it. format the sd-card or use another one (after formatted) can help.
if you have this one: 'stat_sys_no_sim' The sd-card is missing, even though it is in, which should indicate that its not recognized. If this is the case, go back to the store and demand a new sim-card.
Greets tim
Hi all,
Ok so I dropped my galaxy in my room (tiles) and it cracked the screen. Bought a new screen from fleabay, replaced it and voila. Now when I put my sim or any other sim I get no signal/emergency calls only. Opened it again made sure the antenna cable is connected and it is, done a fresh reboot, nothing, even installed custom roms and nothing.
Stumped, any help would be appreciated as to why im not getting any reception!
Thanks,
G
Check your APNs?
well, if you have ANY signal, even when emergency call only, that would mean: no hardware problem.
Otherwise... it may be cracked connector/board...

That would be true if he managed to do an emergency call. But your phone would say emergency only when you are out of reach of your regular carrier.

I've been trying to use NFC on my HTC one, i don't know if something is wrong because i tried using it with my friends blackberry Z10 and it just wouldn't work, i did switch on NFC from settings.
Is there something im missing?
is there an NFC sticker or something like that?
Also i won't be using NFC for google wallet or anything, just simple data transfer.
What is this sticker for that came in the packaging
So picked up my phone a couple days ago and have had a bit of a headache getting it activated.
Well long story short if you put in Sim and show LTE just toggle the cdma roaming off then on. That's it. I searched for hours, 4 different Verizon techs and finally was messing with that and it works.
Love the phone so far. Coming from a Nexus 6p, after the gcam port I have not one single complaint. It's everything I wanted it to be so far!

Next time you switch phones, or anyone else on Verizon that is going to use the Razer Phone 2, do not just put the Sim card in. Go to Verizonwireless.com and go to change device with a device that has not been on your account. Type in the imei of the Razer phone 2 and the system will recognize that it it a CDMA-less device and make the proper changes. It will then tell you to insert the Sim into the Razer phone 2 and it will then work 100%. I haven't had any issues at all from day one. If you want to go to a device that does have cdma, just do the saw process with the cdma phone.
Anyone know why I'm having issues sending any pictures? SMS won't send anything but texts

Same issue as listed above - the RP2 is CMDA-less. Activate online as mentioned above, or just call Verizon customer service, and tell them you are switching to a CMDA-less phone, and they will need to get you transferred over to the tech department and they'll fix it for you - it's something on Verizon's end that needs to be changed on the account level, not an issue with your device.
So I toggled my cdma roaming again and everything is working again. Not sure why, if it's something I have to keep doing not sure if I'm keeping it.

Hi, I am new to this site but I got the razer phone 2 and have it on the verizon cdma-less service. I have the entire phone working outside of wifi calling. When I do the *#*#4636#*#* on phone info it allows me to turn on and off mobile radio power, VoLTE provisioned, but I can't turn video calling, wifi calling on or off. I've talked to tech2 for verizon and they said I'm setup for it but the phone isn't accepting it. I do tend to drop service a lot as well compared to my samsung s7. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I also read that switching to this phone I should have gotten a new sim card but didn't.
Anyone been able to use H2O wireless SIM from the old phone in this phone? It does not even recognize there is SIM is present!
Anyway to hide or remove the g.pay from the top bar?
Show seconds on the top bar?
Shake to trigger flashlight?

I know I tried to use an old sprint sim in my 3Xl once I upgraded to Barbet and TMobile said that the sim was still tied to the old device. It could be that you need a never-used sim if that is even a thing. I have figured out how to double-tap the back of the device to launch an app, you could google double tap back and then have that open a flashlight/routine of some sort maybe. I believe there is also a Magisk mod released for all google devices that changes some functions of the notification/time etc. Look around more and you'll find some of your answers either in the forum here or through google search.
Good luck!
Solved!! H2O wireless problem. Got a new H2O starter SIM, the phone recognized it. Then I called H2O to swap my old number to the new number. Now I have both Fi (eSIM) and H2O SIM card working. If it did not work, the phone was going back.
Put the new SIM into the old phone it works there too.
Still looking for answers to items 2,3,4 from my first post.

2 and 3 are build into LineageOS. Don't know about shake to trigger flashlight.
Shake to trigger flashligh - Really missing the convenience. I think it was native Android feature wish Google would put it back in.

Pretty sure that's a motorola specific feature, not android. Either way, it does have it's uses.

My Samsung phones also had the feature.
I did find an app that appear to work well, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.rnazarevych.shaketorch. I needed to adjust the sensitivity to max.
I am from India, where Google missed Pixel 6 series, and Pixel 5a launch is coming soon. Should I buy 5a or wait for my brother to get it from Europe?
