Mine is doing the same, also battery drains.
I think it's about JB basebands, i've tried a lot of versions.
It's doing like this when phone is using one band but i don't know which one, i think 3G on 900Mhz because this type of freq. is used outside towns.

It's weird, if you're running .489 JB version then you could try flashing .492 JB version from following thread and see if it could help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38748675
Edit: Make sure you backup before you flash new firmware.

I was thinking to install Xperia Curiosity v2.1 [09-03-2013] [UltraLite] [9.1.A.0.492]
Will this work
Just try stock .492 firmware first and see if it fixes your over heating issue.

Ok I'll try it and let you know Thanks bro
Try Repair My Phone with Sony Update Service,
make sure you select correct location.
I wouldn't flash to foreign firmware.

Why is there any risk associated with that
It's absolutely safe flashing foreign FW.
The OP already stated that he flashed stock FW, so repairing won't help much I guess.

Most of the ftf's I've seen here is for the C6603. That's why i'ved uploaded mine. It's hspa+ version. C6603's are LTE.
I've used the C6603 on mine with no problems.

The system simply wouldn't boot.
Possible permanent side effects:
- Hard brick of LCD screen
- NFC chip rendered useless

I speaking based on experience. If you own a STE Xperia phone and flashed Xperia Go's FW, your screen is dead, permanently. There's no way to fix it, even when you flash your device's stock ROM. I'm not saying it will brick your Xperia Z, but I just trying to caution you. Though I quietly confident nothing will happen.

It can. Some update flashes a new NFC firmware. Flashing the wrong NFC FW can permanently brick the chip.

But the NFC specific fw is the same since the chip is equal so normally it shouldn't make a difference

Tried to flash ZL kernel and system. No use. Blank screen at boot.
Even after flash ZL 423 kernel. Flashtool recognize my device a 1.307. Probably because of signature, flashing might failure.
Returned to 1.307
Need to solve drivers.
Ps: Locked bootloader.

I won't do that if I were you messing firmware which is purposed to that device is suicidal to ur Z. U might get softbrick. Unless u port it into ur Z, it might work.

Is it really so hard to just wait until it has been released for Xperia Z? Patience is a virtue
Helllooo guys! How's going?
I'm just waiting for my Xperia Z1 arrive. I bought C6943 version (Japanese/Brazilian), with Digital TV 1seg.
I'm just worried about official updates and developing purposes.
Will I be able to install official updates just like version C6903?
If there is any custom rom for Xperia z1, will version C6943 be supported? Or it's different from model C6943 and will be unsupported?
I don't care about Digital TV, so if I lost this function, I don't care. I just wanna have my device updated and running smoothly
Thanks guys

Oh damn it! I just bought this C6943 version. I hope Cyanogen team works with this model too.
Btw, do you know about retail updates? Here in XDA there are some forums that are talking about new builds from Sony. Do you know if C6943 supports those updates?
Is same problem, version c6903 maybe works, same bands in lte, but needs to try.

Good news! My Xperia Z1 C6943, and the update to 2.257 worked fine . It's downloading right now.
So maybe, custom rooms will run just like in C6903

Not that I'm aware of, most ppl seem to be using supersu survival mode and putting supersu as system app then only updating through OTA to retain root. More details in tablet z general section forum

Yes, thanks for answer, I know, but I did the update from Sony PC comp. So I just have to wait....
But one more thing, do your fastboot with power off holding vol down and putting inn the USB work after 4.3? Mine does not...

heres a post about basic functions for things like fastboot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41644733#post41644733
But I believe its Up volume not down volume,
You could also use flashtool to reflash an older android version for your model/region that can be rooted then OTA to more recent version to try and retain root
what changed with update
