i need to ppick up a new oem batt cover for a note 2 from t mobile in titanium grey. can any one suggest a good, reliable, not too expensive source? i've looked ono amazon but i think most are cheap plastic knock offs and i dont want any reception issues. i need it asap thanks guys.
oh a local guy has one but wants $35 i think thats a bit much??
Amazon is probably your best alternative source. The cheap plastic is fine for radio reception since plastic does not interfere with radio reception The issue with the cheapy covers, it may not include the NFC chip/receiver that the OEM has. The NFC antenna is not in the phone or battery, but on the cover for the GN2.
If you don't use NFC, then it's not an issue.

I got one from ebay for $5.99 with shipping and NFC..front China but was rather quick shipping. Quality for mine was same, or even better than stock it seemed like. That was the cheapest. http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=251212475278&index=5&nav=SEARCH&nid=42792111337 but there are other alternatives for like around $20

I have that case in red without the sleep wake magnet. I decided to order a TPU case recently, and a slip cover plus a car mount. Folio cases make it harder to mount in the car which I actually like to do, oddly enough. GPS is excellent on the N7.

Yeah $60 would never have happened. My tablet normally hangs around the house so the Moko case seems a bit overkill for me. And hopefully the clips hold it in.

It's a Kindle Fire. Looks like the other cases out now.
Poetic makes the same one for a few dollars more. Looks like this is the cheapest one. I'm ordering.
Long live the One X
MoKo, Bluerex, and a few others are making what appears to be the exact same case for a few bucks more. Did they skimp on materials, or are they identical. Warranties? Anyone know? I would think they are all buying them from the same manufacturer, so I'm curious how these guys sell foll less than half the others.
Hey, thanks for posting that! That's exactly what I'm looking for (a case that doesn't completely cover the bezel, has multiple angles, and cheap). I just pre ordered mine as well, and will be using it until Speck releases their FitFolio for the Nexus. That's the case I ultimately want, but this $5.00 case looks like it will hold me over just fine for now.

Depends how much profit they want to take. You can look these cases up on alibaba to see where they come from - the manufacturer is happy to emboss a logo on the front to make it look branded. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple of different factories ready to supply the same basic design, but doubt there'll be much difference in quality.
[Edit: I can't find this design on Ali Express at the moment, but similar cases are running for around $6-7 in lots of 20-50, so $4.99 is getting pretty close to the base manufacturer price.]
Wow, I am so annoyed with amazon's shipping. Not the first nice case I've found, and for such a nice killer price too that won't ship to Canada. The case concept is exactly what I'm looking for. I found this one that ships to Canada branded by i-bason, but it's 24 bucks with shipping though looks the same. I'm debating either ordering that or waiting until more 'look alike' cases appear on amazon that ship to Canada.

Yeah, very strange. Thanks for the link. I think I'll see if anyone else gets this branded case before jumping in. Like you said, there is almost no profit for EXOTEK, and that doesn't even include shipping/transport for them. Something seems off about the price. For not much more, there is a bit more peace of mind I think.

I checked my invoice to be sure, and sure enough it's still at $4.99 and no shipping charges. Maybe a mistake on their end by having that original price, or they saw the orders coming in and thought they could make a few more bucks by raising the price?

It might be cheap because it doesn't have the NFC antenna.
I was looking in a local Samsung concept store about a month ago and I asked about their flip covers, which were being sold for about 3/5 of what I had seen them going for elsewhere. The guy there told me they were cheaper because they didn't have the NFC antenna. He also said that they did have the NFC-capable ones before and they were almost double the price of the NFC-less variants.
Maybe Samsung decided that, since not all people use their phones' NFC capabilities, some people would rather pay less and give it up completely.
I'm not saying that this is one off the NFC-less flip covers but that's one possible reason it's so cheap. And, of course, there are the fakes. The fakes I've seen here have been in boxes very similar to the one I got mine in sans the holographic sticker. The font is also a bit different.
Oh, and the flip covers do fit really well. Actually, it was an even snugger fit than the original. It's just that the side to which the flap is attached is a bit thicker. That's why it looks slightly raised in his picture.
Mine has the NFC antennae...
It works just fine.

The genuine is Made in Korea.
Looks like you got a product different than pictured on the ebay link.
Seems the pictures are of genuine product and yours is a GOOD knockoff.
1) The contacts on the genuine are gold, yours don't look gold.
2) Also that strip where the contacts are, original is black...yours looks silver
3) the letters that the ebay ad points attention to appear to be missing from yours (or I can't read due to low res pic)
Not saying it's a bad case or not as good as the genuine one................just shouldn't be called a genuine if it's not.
Hi guys,
Just got my hands on a quite used N1 from my friend, and is thinking of replacing the full housing.
After looking at pictures on eBay and subsequently asking the sellers, I found that many of the housings on sale are fully plastic. I aware that the front frame of the N1 is metal, so I would like to ask you guys if you know anywhere (eBay or elsewhere) that sells the metal housing for a reasonable price?
Cheers

Agreed.
I am sending them this little note, in case they are willing to consider adding NFC in their battery as an option:
Greetings,
Xda developer Note II forums have mentioned that you are currently developing a Galaxy Note II super capacity battery.
I understand that due to the extreme size of the lithium ion battery, the NFC contacts are no longer exposed, thus NFC cannot be implemented in the battery back cover, as the Samsung and other third parties are currently doing.
I am currently using the Mugen extended battery, that does use NFC in the back cover, and use NFC for google wallet daily.
Although this is none of my business per se, and your product will be very successful, the lack of NFC will deter some users (including the writer of this brief note) from purchasing.
May I offer the suggestion of implementing the NFC back on the battery itself?
Since your battery will effectively sit on top of the NFC contacts, you could wrap around the battery the NFC contacts and implement the NFC on the battery’s back.
This after all is the way NFC is handled on the Samsung GSIII and Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
I understand that this would increase your production costs, so perhaps you could offer two models of the battery, tacking on the extra cost to the customers that would be willing to pay for this. I for one would be more than happy to, and I am sure that you will see the sentiment reflected in the online communities by others too.
I had one of their batteries for my s3. It was amazing. 3 days easy without charging and 10+ hours screen on. This one not having nfc sucks though.

Theoretically, if they don't do it themselves, we could add the nfc as a DIY.
Ebay sells the nfc adhesive strip, which you could attach to the back of the battery, and use contact copper strips to make the connection with the phone work again. I might actually experiment with that once they ship.

supposedly otterbox cases are big enough to use in place of a battery cover for extended batteries.
some people have been using then with zero lemon batteries.
Just to be clear. The Otterbox Defender can be used BUT it needs to be cut to fit any extended batteries.
Do a search for Hyperion Battery Cover on Amazon for the Note 2 if an extended battery cover is all you need.
some people use the seidio active extended case with that anker battery.

Hey, what happened to our plan about dissing Mugen? lol!!!
Here is what I would recommend, for $8+ shipped you get a new battery cover (looks like NFC is in the picture, or you can re-use yours if its not included), and you also get extended battery with it as well - http://www.ebay.com/itm/B171-NEW-65..._Cell_Phone_PDA_Batteries&hash=item27cbe1492c I can't voucher for ebay batteries, they all crap and this could be only 4500 mAh or maybe 6000 mAh, but either way you get a new battery door replacement and a bonus battery for $8. Then, for $5 get this TPU case with a kickstand for your extended battery/cover: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Black-S...t=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Cases&hash=item416ee5228d - yes, its a copy of Hyperion TPU case but for $5 who cares. So, for under $14 shipped you get a battery cover (with or without NFC, not sure), a battery (although could be questionable capacity), and TPU case with a kickstand (kickstand could be on a flimsy side, but you will get a good tpu grip and some drop protection for your phone).
How about asking Anker to sell you just a battery cover? Usually these companies are good and will most likely ship you one for little to no fee. Try their CS again maybe you just did not get the right person.

I could be wrong, but I was under impression they are discontinuing their 6200 mAh battery. But either way, you got 18-months warranty. Not sure how it works with warranty in this case since you didn't receive it broken and it wasn't a defect covered under warranty, but you can always ask them and even offer to buy it. Even if part is discontinued, under warranty they will keep spare parts for at least a year to cover any claims in that period of time. My experience of dealing with Anker was very positive.
I have an unused anker battery cover since I'm using the defender mod. Not sure how to get it to you though.

See there is a flaw with this especially for Sprint Users. I had also contacted them and I had even shown some pictures to them to prove to the fact that there are flaws with that battery.
One of the latches however does not connect fully. And to be honest the better life wasn't that great which is sad seeing how all my other Anker batteries were much better. The problem with Sprint is that we don't have the sim card so the geometry of the inside or architecture is a little different compared to Verizon, AT&T and T Mobile. If you had noticed the battery doesn't sit flush like it should if you check on Amazon you will have noticed my review that has mentioned that as well as somebody else. But I think it's funny that they told you you have to ship it I bought it off of Amazon and went through the customer service and was able to get it replaced free of charge which basically meant that they sent me another battery and back cover. I had taken pictures of that one as well, simple because I had the same issue and they actually refunded it. And I forgot to mention that I didn't buy the extended battery at first I had bought the original 3100 OEM. I told him I had a battery problem with the 3100 and had asked him to replace it with the 6200 cause it had cost the same at the time.
