Hey guys, i am curious if cyanogen is going to support our O2X for next big update to 4.3 JB. I don't think they will support 5.0, but at least this can be somehow useful and I am worried that all developers will jump to another devices and we will get stuck at nightlies. What do you think?
you can't predict it yet. I'm trusting in our developers though, nothing is impossible.

Is cm even going to release a stable cm 10.1, or will we remain nightlies only? I have turned to devs instead of the regular cm rom anyway, cm isn't that stable on the p990.

Many of us abandoned official CM for the releases by pengus77 and tonyp on the new bootloader. RC seems adamant on supporting the old bootloader despite its problems, as he feels a lot of users aren't knowledgeable enough to NVFlash their phones and doesn't want an influx of support questions. And he and official CM don't seem to be paying any attention to the fixes made by pengus which make some functions actually work (i.e. wifi hotspot) and improve stability a lot.

Do the nightly roms ever get made to stable eventually? If they do will to camera and camcorder work?
Almost certainly not because nobody is maintaining P970 (should be Arcee but he is not making specific commits for long time) and we get only general updates.Cm7 and Cm10 got to stable but still with lot of bugs and crappy camera.IMHO is much better focusing on official or official based custom ICS roms.
So there was cm-10.2-20130814-NIGHTLY-quincytmo.zip released on 8/14 and cm-10.1.3-RC1-quincytmo.zip which was released on 8/28 as a release candidate. I'm confused on what the differences would be. Right now I've been running the 10.1 nightly's. In another post someone said the 10.2 was a 4.3 release, but wouldn't there be a stable release before a nightly release?
You had it right. They are trying to finish a 10.1 final, but there seem to be problems as the 10.1 branch just keeps going and going. The 10.1.3 is the latest attempt to close the door on Android 4.2.2 and move on to 4.3 exclusively.

But why is there a 10.2 nightly, wouldn't there first be a 10.2 stable? Should I keep going with the 10.1 nightly or should I download the 10.1.3 or 10.2?
The "stable" is the final release, its the last one. So night lies and M releases and RC's all come before Stable.
There are two branches being developed right now, 10.1.x, that has a "freeze" (no new features added) trying to get to a Stable final release, and 10.2 which will be what is developed from here on out.
What you run is up to you.
If you want new stuff just cause it is new I would suggest going with 10.2. It is not stable and reliable, but neither is 10.1 on our phones. To get something stable that doesnt randomly reboot you have to go back to the April M3 release or earlier.

Cool, thanks for the explanation.
On a side note I'm just waiting for the note 3 to come out hopefully in September and that it will have much more ROM support.
I run CM 10.1 on my Android phone and saw there is a CM project available for this device, but wanted to ask the gurus here, what is the most stable ROM for this device that is available?
Milaq's 10.1 is about as stable as you can get, but no further development is happening on Jelly Bean as the best devs - milaq, flintman notably - are working on kitkat. Which is usable on a daily basis but still a WIP.
Jcsullins 10.1 roms are also worth a download.
Try them and see what you think.
Peace

Thanks for the info. I'll probably stick with Milaq's 10.1 as I will still need it for daily use and need just about all features functioning.
Hello to all devs! I am asking this because i see that cm 11 developing is more and more growing. I couldn't keep up with the dev of cm11 unofficial for personal reasons, so i am asking if someone could give me a heads up. I remember that oficial cyanogen rom kept the old blobs and our devs, were using new blobs. But after that there is only chaos... Could someone please tell me what is the point we are now?? What works to what rom, and what is buggy? I do not want to know what rom is better or personal opinions. Just the facts. Thank you!!!

its simple all unofficial roms using p880-dev sources (unofficial) and all official releases are based on "official" CM11 sources
unofficial ones are based on grouper blobs but there was a problem with camera so @Adam77Root made a little hack to get it work. So now camera is working ( little bit buggy) video rec is not working till Adam end his hack, but screenrecording is working here and not on official. overall IMO grouper blobs seems to give a smoothier experience than official ones, and they can give us hope to bring future releases of android on our p880.
there was also many many other thingsXD
Hey guys I'm a bit confused, they CM team had said that they were releasing cm 12 and 11 stable builds but I don't see the N6 with one yet, is it not on their wik download page? Or is it just not ready yet?

Those builds are to old for our device and you should have q&a thread. Use cm 12.1 it's stable enough for a daily driver.
I'm on 12.1 and have no issues.
I am updating CM12.1 day, have some but of system ui crash, play store crash, and sudden ui freeze n auto-restart , but still not a big deal, stable enough to daily use.

5.1.1 is CM12.1 and they don`t develop 11 and 12 anymore afaik
I haven't seen a cm build actually named "stable" for years
http://www.zdnet.com/article/cyanogenmod-ditches-stable-release-for-perpetual-m/
There has not been stable builds for a while now.
Q_Q all I want is my nexus6 on a designated stable cm build..but that might not happen...I love the cm experience but the wait for it is ridiculous >,<
Are there any roms that have the subtle cm feel to it but still with all the tweaks that lead to wanting to flash it the first place?

CM is stable enough to be used as a daily driver, and yes there are several CM based roms available just use search and you will find.
People, don't be so sure of yourselves in saying things you aren't sure about!
The OP is correct. CyanogenMod's (not Cyanogen's, there's a difference) blog recently stated that the Jenkins build server was going to kickoff one final build of CM11 M12, and CM12 M1 for all devices that ever recieved official nightlies for those versions. For example, OnePlus gets, CM11 M12, CM12 M1, and continued CM12.1 nightlies, because it ran KK before LP, but Nexus 6 only gets CM12 M1, as it never ran KK.
However, due to a (seemingly unnoticed) error, Jenkins (CyanogenMod's build server) only kicked out CM11 M12 & CM12 M1 builds for the first ~15 devices (in alphabetical order of CM's phone database). I have alerted a device maintainer, and hope they look into this.
This all being said... why are people obsessing over the "M" (Milestone) build? You do realize that an M build in all actuality means very little. A Milestone build is just a nightly that is deemed stable FOR EVERY SUPPORTED DEVICE. So, many devices (like the Nexus 6) have flawless CM12.1 nightlies, while other device's (Galaxy S4 Mini perhaps?) nightlies are atrociously buggy, this causes the Milestone build to be put on hold until all devices run it flawlessly.
I run CM12.1 nightlies on my Nexus 6, and they are FLAWLESS. I can count a total of two bugs; "OK Google" detection reverts to inactive upon reboot (solved by setting up a Tasker profile which toggles "Google Voice Search Enhancements" on & off @ boot), and a lack of WiFi Calling on TMO (Scheduled to come in a nightly soon).
