Updated firmware, re-rooted and downloaded contacts from Titanium backup which was fine until this morning. Now whenever I move to the people page it crashes. It's showing just the one contact which I can't make out which I suspect it causing the issue. Ive tried re-downloading backup, clearing dialer data, re-importing from previous phone but no avail. Any idea's please .. a little annoying having a phone with no contacts

my dialer is FCing one me, twice today already. Anyone else having this problem?
First no photos appear on the contact list so when you try to close it and click the phone button again, it crashes, but works fine after that again.
(I used mybackup pro to resync my contacts after installing froyo)

Hi all.
At the moment i'm unable to receive any SMS. This happens since two weeks. I Updatet my old Galxy to Cyanogenmod 10.2.1 three weeks ago, and it could be because of this. If i open the sms app from cyanogenmod, i see old sms and one sms from last week, which i don't remember receiving. Once i click on the sms / Dialogue, i see just a blank page, same for other sms.
Is thee a way to just reinstall the sms app from cyanogenmod? maybe that would fix my problems...
Try a full wipe data an cache. If that doesn't work, reinstall the rom again.
Ok, i removes my sms settings with titanium backup, that did the trick (although all my old sms are gone, but that's no big problem). Buuut... No if got other problems: My google play app doesn't work anymore, it just said "no connection". My swipe keyboard won't build any words (although the line itself from the fingers still works), and threema has problems since the push service doesn't work anymore
Sooo... At the moment i'm planning a full wipe and reinstall of the durrent cyanogenmod on the weekend...
If you have done a full wipe and cache and problems still appear i suggest you do a clean install of the rom, just to be sure.Maybe something went wrong when you installed it, who knows :-? .Backup everything you need and give it a shot.
Facing a unique problem (which hasn't apparently appeared in any other discussion forums):
- I cannot upload / send photos/documents/videos to other whatsapp friends. It freezes after uploading some of it (sometimes 4-5%, sometimes 50-60%, it's random).
- similarly, my chat backup to google drive freezes while trying to upload
I am non-rooted, on EMUI 9.0.0.126, have performed wipe cache, have uninstalled and reinstalled whatsapp and yet the problem persists. Which makes me wonder if it's some phone setting. I have set battery management to manual for whatsapp, so it's probably not even that.
Any help/pointers would be appreciated.
I had a similar issue. Uninstall whatsapp and delete the backup from gdrive. Then reinstall whatsapp. I would advise to take a backup of the whatsapp folder before removing it though
Tried that. But uploads still don't go thru. Weird.
Hello,
I have an unrooted, p30 pro Canadian model vog-l04. I just got the automatic update to Android 10 but now I am unable to send SMS messages. I can receive them fine but can't send. I have tried everything in the list below. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Cleared the system cache in recovery mode
Checked SIM card
Cleared network configuration (reset network settings)
Force closed messaging app
Cleared messaging app cache.
Uninstalled messaging app updates
Updated messaging app
Rebooted
Edited contact phone numbers
Confirm Message Center Number is correct
Checked voice calling and mobile data
Deleted old messages conversations
Tried sending from different SMS apps.
I really don't want to do a factory reset if I can help it! Is there anything else I can try?
Thank you!

Honestly, although you don't want to, after a major OS upgrade a factory reset is always advised, a vast majority of the time it leaves behind rubbish files which cause inexplicable problems like this one that just cannot be fixed any other way.
The only other thing I can think (but doubt) that occasionally happens upgrading to 10, is the APN settings password needs fixing, but that usually causes a no data problem rather than SMS, but worth a look
Thanks for your reply. For anyone else who has this problem, I managed to fix it without a factory reset, thanks to this post here. It's as simple as downloading huawei backup from the play store, which I think I had previously removed. SMS now works fine

Thanks so much - I had tried what I thought was everything to fix this!!! Reinstalling Huawei Backup did indeed instantly fix it.
