my dialer is FCing one me, twice today already. Anyone else having this problem?
First no photos appear on the contact list so when you try to close it and click the phone button again, it crashes, but works fine after that again.
(I used mybackup pro to resync my contacts after installing froyo)

I'm using the Dialer One app from the market, and I'm having a problem with contacts. When I use the smart dialer (ie: type in the person's name) on the keypad, a few of my contacts are not listed there...but then when I go into contacts, and search for them manually they are there.
Has anyone else noticed this problem? Is there a fix? How? Thanks in advance for any help!
hmm, no, I have not noticed that, but I hardly ever actually use my phone as a phone. There are really only like 5 numbers a call regularly, and they all pop up. I'll have to poke at it a bit and see if I get the same issue.

It works perfectly fine for me idk.. Iv used it for about 2 weeks now without a problem.
I figured it out...first I uninstalled and reinstalled. Then I went into settings within the app and set default to contacts. Hope that helps anyone else. With this problem
I have recently flashed DDJG4 and its by far the smoothest eclair for me but I have noticed that some of my contacts have a bug in messaging. Only their number shows up opposed to their name. This is annoying as I dont know who the message is from unless i open the contact details.
Contact details is fine, no problem. Just the messaging app.
Anyone else notice this? any fix ideas?

don't have enough messages from different people to confirm (only 4 so far). however, on a related note, do you see a long delay between unlocking the screen using the puzzle piece and the corresponding message opening in the messaging app?
Not checked. I use pattern lock. Ill have a go and see.

Sorry to say, but its just you.
I have over 41 conversations and all the names display correctly.
I noticed lagging on the lock screen to messaging in ddjf3
In ddjg4 there is no more lag anywhere.
I put the ext2 1gb lagfix just for the heck of it and the phone is now faster than me.
Reflash and see whats wrong.
Use the Backup apps from ritesh sahu.
I use them to backup my data before flashing.
I have the same problem too when I imported/restored about 150 old messages. Did you manage somehow to get rid of the problem? On my phone it's only some contacts where only the number is shown and not connected to a contact. This problem started for me when changing to the jm firmware line. For the jf and jg firmwares this problem does not appear.
Strangely, handcent sms has no problem with the sms/contacts. Therefore, this has to be a bug in the samsung sms application, not in our data.

I have the skype app installed, I use it occasionally, and start it up manually when I need it.
Never had any problem with it, until recently -
I flashed my phone's ROM, and re-installed my apps, I'm not sure if I downloaded an update for the skype app or not.
Ever since I'm with the new setup, every time I try to dial someone, a window pops up and asks me if I want to use the default android dialer or 'SkypeOut', without any 'use this as default' checkbox...
this is extremely annoying!
anyone else experienced this problem?
I dont want/need any pop-ups from skype, especially not when I dial someone...
Ideas? Anyone?

Updated firmware, re-rooted and downloaded contacts from Titanium backup which was fine until this morning. Now whenever I move to the people page it crashes. It's showing just the one contact which I can't make out which I suspect it causing the issue. Ive tried re-downloading backup, clearing dialer data, re-importing from previous phone but no avail. Any idea's please .. a little annoying having a phone with no contacts
So I rooted my device and have experienced no issues, save one... I chose to use the Samsung mail client rather than gmail, I can't stand the gmail ui. Well, post root my email icon opens my phone/dialer app. I've been browsing the file structure but haven't located it yet. I've got a thanks button at the ready if anyone can point me in the right direction.
Edit: Issue resolved itself however something similar occurred with the amazon app. Seems minor enough but I'll post more if the behavior continues.
I have been having weird issues happening in gmail. Couldn't add any attachment. It just force closes. USA Today seems to force close. Everything was fine again when I reboot. I would get random force closes, but every time after reboot, things seem to fix themselves.
You might want to wipe cachecache or do a reset to resolve these types of issues
