There is no error message it just show ! in triangle
You have to wait for 6-7 minutes to complete the process. Be sure liquid is fully charged and debug usb is activated.
Keep in mind you cannot update liquid with liquid e roms.

Thanks for you reply, I just want to add that I am trying to upgrade it through application being on SD card and by pressing camara button + down vol then power button, My Acer had Liquid Galaxy 2.1 , kernel Version 2.6.29-phh
You can't install in recovery mode cause it's not a zip file, it's a bin file. You need acer download tool, then youhave to put the recovery back gain.

E: error in /sdcard/update.zip

delete the update.zip file or remove it from your SD Card and run the Acer DownloadTool again. AcerTool flashes a .bin file if you are using it correctly.
Just upgraded my Liquid E to 2.2. I followed the instructions in the PDF and it worked fine. I would try copying the files to the SD card again.
I'm totally lost on this. I have 2.1 stock with Malez recovery installed on it. No matter what I do, I just cannot get it to work?
Is there a step by step instruction on how to "flash" a bin file and then upgrade it for Fido phone? I have Acer Liquid E Fido. I have been working on it for 2 days now and cannot get it to work.
edit: finally got it to work by installing another (10 different) version first and reinstalling a one that doesn't have the assert

Sorry, but you can not install the acer rom. Because you are not using original rogers eclair, or you've flashed Malez recovery.
There is a couple ways you could get around this.
1. There is a Modified rom based on the official acer release at Modaco.com. It doesn't make any assert checks.
2. If you have the original rogers eclair kickin around you could flash it onto your device. You might need to flash a 2.1 eclair bin(leak) first depending on what you're running now. Once this is done you'll be able to use the acer official, and pass all assert checks.
Spice MI 300 :- Want to update from 2.1 to 2.2
Hi every one
i have a spice android phone MI-300 and want to update the 2.1 version to 2.2 manually could anyone of you guide me how to do it on my own as I dont think the company is upcoming with and 2.2 upgrade.
Please help
Abhishek
The simplest way of doing it would be flashing the latest malez recovery. Then using acer download and flashing the proper generic 1.0 rom. After then you should have went to acer website and downloaded a european (generic 2.2 rom) followed directions and did the proper upgrade. You can also apply the patch after (under patches tab)
Worked like a charm for me back in the day.

ClockworkMod 3.2.x.x has a bug that creates unrestorable backups (backup goes fine, restore goes fine, reboot after restore gets stuck at the SE boot logo).
This has already been discussed in the past.
If you can get into xRecovery...
Turn the phone off, take out the SD, put it into a card reader.
Copy the Ginger v013 AND GingerDX v022 AND Stock Kernel Modules AddOn ZIP onto your SD on the computer.
Unmount the SD, take it out of the card reader, put it back into your phone.
Power on the phone, get into xRecovery.
Flash GDX v013
Reboot
Keep tapping onto the screen once the SE boot logo shows up to get into CWM.
Flash GDX v022
Flash Stock Kernel Modules
Full Wipe
Reboot
EDIT: I hope you already flashed back to Stock Kernel - as the FXP ROM requires the FXP Kernel.
If you happen to talk about nAa's MiniCM7 you're currently on nAa's kernel - in case you didn't miss to flash the required kernel. In this case you can forget the above procedure.
You either need to unlock the boot loader (IF your phone is SAFE for that) and flash the nAa Kernel to make MiniCM7 boot.
---------- Post added at 07:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:33 PM ----------
Or in other words - you may want to be a wee bit more precise about what you really did.

Thanks... can you help me find this files?
Click the link in my sig...
Flashtool is in the "Flashtool" folder, the Stock Kernel and Stock ROM image for Flashtool is in the "Sony Ericsson" folder.
There's also a text file in the Sony Ericsson folder describing how you restore to Stock with Flashtool.
However, first thing you should do - make sure you roll on Stock Kernel if you want to flash back to Stock and go from there again.
If you want to flash nAa's Kernel (in case it's MiniCM7 you flashed) then you may want to look into the ROM thread in the development section and read through the first post ... there's a link to download the latest nAa kernel.
Since this will require you to unlock your boot loader you should first check if your phone is safe for doing so (NOT at or above a manufacturing date of 11W29) - see the hard brick warning sticky in the General board.
Once you unlocked the boot loader you can flash the kernel through Flashtool - then the ROM (again, if it's MiniCM7 we're talking about) should boot.
Dude... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Now the problem is installing the CM7.1
"assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "E15i" || [...]".
Error in /sdcard/update-cm-7.1.0-x8-signed.zip
I've install GingerDX v22
Ok, so I googled a solution: You will have to open ROM zip file and navigate into /META-INF/com/google/android/update-script and open it using a notepad. First - delete those lines:
getprop("ro.product.device") == "E15i" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "E15i" || getprop("ro.product.board") == "E15i" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "E15a" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "E15a" || getprop("ro.product.board") == "E15a" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "E16i" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "E16i" || getprop("ro.product.board") == "E16i" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "E16a" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "E16a" || getprop("ro.product.board") == "E16a" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "shakira" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "shakira" || getprop("ro.product.board") == "shakira"
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
and leave just
assert();
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
It should help. But I don't know why there's a kernel.sin. Aren't You interested in some newer ROM?

Let me give you a really great tip:
DO NOT install THIS ROM!
The CyanogenMod CM7 Shakira ROM is NOT feature complete, is BUGGY as hell and NOT actively developed.
Stick to GingerDX OR look into MiniCM7 by nobodyAtall (requires a custom Kernel, therefore boot loader unlock - do NOT try if your phone is NOT safe for unlocking the boot loader)
hmmm... thanks... i'll try it.
Can use the Flashtool to Unlock the boot loader?

Flashtool v0.6.x.x is able to unlock the boot loader - but - you checked the date code of your phone? Not that you end up with a hard brick just because you didn't make sure.
Where can i check the date code of my phone?
Turn off Your phone, remove back cover and battery. There should be a stick and on it look for something like "xxWyy". xx - code of the year (10 - 2010, 11 - 2011 and so on) and yy - production date week.

Thanks! but...
Why i need to know these informations before to unlock Boot Loader?
Because SE has changed security(?) on their phones and if You try to unlock bootloader on phone with new type it will get hard bricked.
I did install GingerDX v20 ROM. Does it means that have i a Boot Loader unlocked?
No, GingerDX works also on stock kernel. Unlocked bootloader is necessary (directly) for custom kernels, not for custom ROMs (some of custom ROMs works on stock kernel [as GingerDX], some of them not [as MiniCM7 2.1.9], and that's why unlocked bootloader is necessary for them to work).

You got it already explained by Bolussimo, though s/he could have linked you to the Hard brick warning - read before boot loader unlock sticky (though ignore posts of peeps telling something about "unlock 11W3x/11W4x successfully" - the chance that you hard brick your phone is not worth trusting this unreliable statements)

It would seem 11W12 is BELOW 11W29, right?
For as long as you don't make any mistakes and for as long as nothing unexpected happens you should be good to go.

No........ *sigh*
With "11W12 is BELOW 11W29" I meant...
(20)11 W(eek) 12 is below (20)11 W(eek) 29, right?
Since the problematic date code where chances of a hard brick increase to the power of 2 is 11W29 and ABOVE (11W29 - 11W30, 11W31, 11W32, 11W33, ...) yours is actually safe to try, given you don't make a mistake or other unexpected things don't happen.
Hey,
I am having problems while trying to root, install cwm5 and install a custom ROM to my Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i.
PROBLEM:
First:
I rooted my phone by following this article.
It rooted in less than a second, so i had my doubts and went ahead and rooted it again, only to get the same thing... After starting my phone normally, i found this new icon
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
.
Root checker also confirmed that it was successfully rooted.
Second:
I tried to install CWM 5 from the same article. When installing, I get the following error:
Error in E://tmp/sideload/package.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted
However, after following this article, i was able to get it to work. However, like it says in the article, i have to install the zip from SD card via standard recovery every time i have to use CWM
Third:
I did all this to try to install this custom ROM.
While using "temporary" CWM, i tried installing this, but once again, i get the exact same error:
Error in E://tmp/sideload/package.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted
I thought it was due to a bad file, so i downaded everything again, again, and finally, once again... Nothing seems to work
I then tried to flash CWM via ROM Manager. It asks me to confirm my model, with only one option (i.e. S3850i), i tap that and it says no supported CWM available, but i know there is by looking at these articles and other tutorials
I also tried re-rooting my phone via super one click v.2.3.1.0, but it hangs at waiting for device...
DETAILS:

My PC runs Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Please help me out here... thanks

Well i copied it from my comp, pasted it in my SD card. Shut my phone down, then restarted into recovery mode (Samsung Standard <e3> or something like that). Selected apply update from SD card in zip
selected the file (which was in the main directory itself).
Then a few lines of code appeared...
something about getprop or something...
then after say the 12th line of code, that error message appears...

I think you are a little hard on the reading part yourself..it clearly states that your device is a GT-S5830 "T" and not "i" !!!!!!!!!!

I googled on the matter and found that it seems that the new aces with gb preinstalled have a special secure bootloader which prevents rooting of the phone!!

Well mine was a gb preinstalled. but i checked online and saw tutorials for rooting galaxy aces with gb 2.3.6 (mine has 2.3.6)... and it seems to work fine
also, 1 minor difference i found (dunno if it helps) is that in the tutorials, the screenshots and vids show
Galaxy ACE SGH S5830
and at the bottom it says samsung (during boot)
On mine, the Samsung is at the top

Dude, if you did know some code, it looks like a test to check if it is a T, or an L or just S5840... now i dont know why there is no i in there, maybe that's the problem, and thats what im trying to figure out
Also, im sure its an i since it says that on my box, plus on my bootscreen, and in my about phone settings page
i have been flashing roms now since january this year. I've already flashed a lot for both the Gio and the Ace.
Now I'm running into this same problem again with several roms:
when I want to flash the rom, it returns me a status 7 error. Why? I don't know. I've tried already so much: md5 checksum, downloading again, formatting my sdcard partition
I have it with many roms (cm 7 blackhawk / firekernel, cm 10.1.1 mardon, cm10 maclaw etc etc).
I would like to find out what the problem is and possibly how I can solve it.
Maybe there is a problem with your recovery install. You could try to install that again.
Try to toggle signature verification in cwm. Or just reflash the recovery.

thanks. I've tried this but even reflashing my cwm file returns a status 7 error
but flashing my px-cwm v2.zip recovery completed.
I managed to install cwm 6.0.3.2 (although it still says 5.0.2.6) and still i'm getting all these status 7 errors.
the error is " assert failed". Is it possible that cwm isn't able to "read" the several getprop requests from my phone?
Or should the line in script update be changed with removing the spaces between the getprop for cooper and the getprop for gt-s5830?

Ok. In that case there is an error with your recovery.
@The Others: Would it help to flash a Samsung Firmware via Odin? Would that replace the recovery?

Hi nikwen, yes, to flash via Odin will replace the recovery with the stock recovery. Cheers.

i've flashed a stock rom with mobile odin.
After that: i've tried to flash the cm10.1.3 rom from mardon. It returned a status 0 error. After that, I've flashed cwm 6.0.3.2 and tried to flash the rom again. Still a status 7 error.
Is it possible that maclaw's cm9 or cm10 have changed something in my Phone which causes that i'm unable to flash anything anymore? I only get status 7 errors. When i follow the suggested steps at XDA to get rid of these errors (read: delete the assert lines in updater script) the status 7 errors are replaced by status 6 errors.
when i'm in cm9 and execute getprop in terminal, the ro.product.build / devide / model = cooper (no gt-s5830).
the label on my Phone (which is located underneath the battery) says gt-s5830.
How do I get rid of the maclaw history and return to the completely Original rom to see if I can flash from there?

Are there differences between Odin and Mobile Odin? If there are some, flashing using the desktop one might help.
Cooper is the codename for our Ace. So that is ok.
I've tried 2 stock roms now. Neither can boot. I've reflashed the 5.0.2.6 cwm recovery because that one is the only one that can restore my cm9 backup. I'm lost... I don't know what to do now because there is simply no way of getting a different rom on this Phone and i would really like to know why.
What did maclaws rom do that f*ck*d up my Phone?

You could send them an email.
Flash stock via PC using odin. You will be stuck in a bootloop. Reboot into recovery & factory reset. Reboot & phone boots. Now, important , you cannot flash custom Roms via stock recovery. Place the cwm 5.0.2.6 zip on sd card. Reboot into recovery , select " install update from sd card ", select the zip file, select yes & reboot. Again reboot into recovery, do full wipes & select " install zip from sd card " & NOT " install update from sd card " & flash any stock based Rom like Touchwiz 5 by Nathan. If you follow this, everything must be fine.

YEs... I managed to flash px recovery 0.4 (again: I still had to delete the assert lines from updater script). Now I was able to flash the cm 10.1.3 rom from Mardon. Just booted for the first time. Hopefully my status 7 errors are now history... (i don't know if I can restore my cm9 backup from maclaw but we will see).

Great.
Do you want to restore it? I prefer 4.2.2.
i prefer not. But it depends on how satisfied I am on this cm 10.1.3 rom. And how many bugs / errors I experience, How smooth/fast it is etc.
When I'm not satisfied, I can Always return to this rom I was most satistied off so far. But I wanted another rom because I have a lot spontaneous reboots when turning on Wifi again....

In case like yours a fresh often install helps, too.

it might, but it also means reinstalling all my apps again. And I do not want to do that
hopefully, this cm10 rom is satisfying enough. I will then stick to it...
Hi,
I have a brig problem. I cannot install custom ROM from recovery mod on my I9305. I tried install CyanFox and PAC-man, but both gave me a error, when i tried to run the zips via recovery.
I have root.
Is there anybody who has same problem like I have.
Any suggestions or advice? Thank you.
Have you followed the instructions faqs and guides posted .
This sound like fail to install cwm recovery from the bare information posted .
That is you have root but no custom recovery .
Stock recovery says 3e
I have CWM based Recovery v5.5.0.4 : : CF-v1.5
And YES I followed all the instructions and faqs.
First install the custom recovery on your device to flash custom ROMs. stock recovery doesn't allow you to flash custom ROMs even though you are rooted

I updated to newer CWM 6.0.3.1.
and again i tried to install the rom.
There's a few words of log.
Installing update...
assert failed: getprop ro.product.device, getprop. ro build.product. getprop ro.product.device == GT-I9305
E: Error in /sdcard/pac-i9305-nightly-20131015.zip

It's look like its working! New CWM helped me.
I reply later if everything working.
Possible bad file download again.
Possible not for your phone as its failing on build prop.
Try Philz Recovery .
You can ask in the relevant rom threads as well .
Which is the best recovery for galaxy tab 2 p3100 with plenty of options. and how to find and flash it
