[Q] AT&T com.android.phone Crashes on CM10.1 - Motorola Droid Bionic

I am currently running the stock JB update with root right now, with the GSM tweaks in place. Texting and calls work fine as long as i set the network type on boot. However, upon trying to install any CM10 based ROM and tweaking the build.prop for GSM service, the process com.android.phone crashes on incoming calls and at the end of calls. Anyone have any idea of how to fix this? I'd really like to use the nightlies or the PACman ROM.
I'm not sure, but it may have happened on non-CM based ROMs. I can flash one and test if anyone wants to know.

No Service after installing CM10 on T

I'm sorry if this has been posted and/or answered elsewhere. I have been looking for the past 48 hours for answers; attemping most of what I've found with no luck.
Hello XDA users/developers. A few days ago I unlocked the bootloader on my Xperia T. I've had my device rooted for about a month and decided to take the next step since I know how large the 'modding' community is within Android.
My phone, as you're probably aware came preloaded with Sony's bloatware. After freezing them with Titanium I decided to install Cyanogen Mod 10 to eliminate them. I've unlocked the bootloader via the official Sony method and installed CM & CWM with no issues.
ADB/Fastboot drivers are not an issue, neither is my copy of the Android SDK.
Now comes my problem; I've noticed many people have the 'No Service' issue. I've searched top to bottom, read all the results and it seems my problem doesn't quite fit.
My IEMI number has not changed
The baseband did change, however I've copied over the files from my stock ROM to CM
I've triple checked the APN list and there isn't an issue there
I CAN receive/send phone calls and SMS. And my data connection runs just fine.
I've tried to install other custom ROMs such as Paranoid Android with no luck. It seems stock Sony ROMs work while custom ROMs don't.
I've reflashed my stock 4.1 with flashtool and I do gain service once again. This is the same if I install another Sony ROM, such as 4.0.
I've searched XDA and other resources; I have found results though not for the T. I'm skeptical whether these methods for other phones will work and have not tried them myself.
One thing left that I haven't checked is whether I'm SIM locked. I've tried *#SIMLOCK# on both CM and Stock with no results. I am NOT simlocked.
I also have not tried flashing another Kernel since CM/CWM/FXP installed its own - I assume this is alright and not the cause of the problem.
Also CM is convinced the preferred network type is WCDMA; stock displayed WCDMA or GSM. So I'm going to go with the fact that WCDMA preferred is alright and not part of the problem.
My Xperia T is on the T-Mobile/EE UK network. I don't have another SIM or phone to test with right now.
During work the day after flashing CM my phone did mention "EE" instead of "No Service" for about 10 minutes. I'm hoping that all hope isn't lost!
I can provide relevant screenshots/logs/answers if that'll help troubleshoot.
Any ideas?
Thanks for your time
MODS: I apologize if this is the incorrect sub-forum for this.

It worked! It's beyond me what the differences are to have made this function correctly now.
I hadn't previously done this as I read up that 4.2 changes the partition layout? I had assumed that after that it wouldn't have been possible to downgrade to 4.1 without the need of flashtool.
After installing Gapps for CM10.1 via goo.im they FC right after boot. Would this be caused by the latest CM10.1 nightly?
Edit: That being said, I acknowledge that the nightly builds aren't meant to be stable, but you would have thought that the gapps suite works!

[Q] Phone is not usable with random reboots

I've been experiencing random reboots since I bought my Developer Edition but today I think it hit me real hard with the random reboots in short intervals.
this kind of reboots happened to me both on completely stock and custom rom but today heavy reboots occurred when I was on Insert Coin 2.0.3 (S-Off).
According to someone's advice, I installed catlog and try to record the events until the phone reboots. So I post my logs here and hope some one could save me from this misery.
the first file was recorded with "write to disk every 200 lines" so it may miss some very last event when phone rebooted. The next ones were recorded with "write to disk every 100, 20 and 10 lines". I hope some devs could have a clue on what is happening with my phone.
I also save the log file AFTER phone reboot but they were too big to attach. If you think those might helo, I'll post them somewhere else.

Yeah, I've noticed that some custom ROMs got issues with Xposed on S-Off device. However, as I mentioned earlier, this happened to me while I was on completely stock rom, too.
I've made a few observations and found out that I haven't got a single reboot on AOSP for a whole day but AOKP still gave me random reboots (not as frequent as on InsertCoin but still).
Any help would be very appreciated
might be worth trying to install sense rom again stock or custom and do full wipe, cache and dalvik. strange that an aosp rom works fine. must be something caused by a sense rom, drivers or framework. was this problem introduced when you started using 4.2.2 roms? have you updated to the new firmware.zip?
well, my habit of installing new roms is always do a full wipe so I think the cause of reboot should not be related to that.
After getting no reboot on AOSP roms (carbon, cm 10.1), I decided to go back on custom sense roms but no luck. reboots just came back no matter what roms I was on (renovate rev 45, insertcoin rev36, rayglobe 4.3).
I went to stock again with RUU dev edition (.16 one). Phone gave me a reboot right after I finished setting up (as new phone). However, it has been running stable up to now (3 hours).
Should the reboot have any thing to do with Sense, i'm wondering. I would be very thankful if any devs can help me on this issue. I'm willing to make as many logs as required or install any custom, stock roms if neccessary.
Sincere

[Q] No Audio on Phone Calls

Trying to gather information about the no audio on phone call issue in order to troubleshoot it.
Symptom: You answer an incoming phone call or make an outgoing phone call and the call connects however there is no audio on the phone regardless if using the phone or Bluetooth device. The other party only hears complete silence. Rebooting temporarily clears the issue, but it can occur again at anytime.
My config is ViperOne 7.0.1 and ElementalX 18.0 (Issue also occurred on 17.x) and I have the latest 6.09.401.5 firmware.
I have seen this issue reported in a few ROM threads and for different kernels, so it seems to happen for other ROM/kernel configurations.
If anyone else is having this issue can you please post your:
Firmware version
Rom and version
Kernel
Settings/reasons for why you think it is occurring?
I love my current setup and it performs awesome with super battery life, but this issue is killing me as I have to use my phone for work and I never know if I will be able to properly make or answer a phone call.
Any idea's for a root cause?
Having this very same issue on my stock rom. 4.4.3 / 6.09.401.108 . I personally think it's an issue with HTC's latest updates as I am pure stock.

That is very good info as I was wondering if pure stock had the issue.
Do you remember when the issue first started? Was it just after the first 6.09.401.1 OTA update or did it happen at all back on 5.xx?
Thanks again for the info.
I do not recall having this problem prior to the previous update. This latest update and the last one, both have had this issue.
My setup is ViperOne 7.0.1 and elementalx 18.0.
Fw version is: 6.09.401.5
I don't remember if I altered the radio separately, anyways here's the version I am using : 4T.29.3218.08_10.33F.1718.01L
Experienced this mute call once while on previous kernel version, 17.2, upon reboot all was well again.
Kernel is and was installed with pretty much default options.
Seeing that this issue is very difficult to reproduce, maybe it's not related to the kernel at all but simply some external app (from rom or otherwise)? Well as to it chances are this to be rom related since we're all using this rom?

I have seen it reported on a few other ROM threads and even stock software, so I am pretty sure it is not related to Viper. Might be an app we all installed that causes it, or some other weird setting we all use.
I also experience occasionaly problems with an audio in phone calls, reset helps though.
My config is:
Unlocked, S-on
ViperOne 7.0.1
6.09.401.5
If you upgraded your firmware directly to 6.09.401.5 from 4.x/5.x, try flashing the 6.06.401.1 firmware first and then update it to 6.09.401.5
That seem to help me with this issue.
Sorry, still kind of a newb when it comes to roms. I've had viperone installed for the past year (currently running 7.0.0) but in the past two weeks, all audio during calls has completely quit working. The calls go through, but I can't hear them and they can't hear me.
So.... how can I fix this? haha

it's not ROM related, some users are experiencing it, others are not (pretty much irrelevant of ROM / firmware combination.... though obviously having the ROM inline with firmware is always better), anyway:

Update to the latest Google play services with this version, released yesterday https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms. Or download apk from here http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google.../google-play-services-6-5-99-1642632-038-apk/ Problem is solved for me. Also clear cache and data for Google Play Services and for Google Play Services Framework (Settings -> Apps -> All -> Google Play Services -> clear cache -> Manage space -> Clear all data).
For me all works now with latest services
To solve the gms problem do this:
Go to play store and search for "disable services"
Install it and Browse to Google play services (in system or after self autoupdate in data)
Only disable the checkinservice .
Reboot and till now all Works
thx goes to n0j0e he found it out .
After disabling checkinservice, did you experience lots of wakelocks from checkinservice?

After you disabling checkinservice, google play service always try to run it, that puts your m7 in awake mode all the time even in screen off. Applying the venom fix & re-enable the checkinservice is the best solution for me.

[Q] Multirom lte gone in stock ROMs. Works with CM based

I was running stock 5.1.1 as my daily driver, installed multirom, installed chroma/blisspop/droidkang and a CM nightly, logged into each, just looking around, and now LTE doesn't work on my stock ROM or chroma.
I get the triangle with exclaimation point for signal.
Seems to work fine with CM and blisspop.
Anyone know what could cause this or how to fix it?

Check to see if your APN is correct.
Resetting APN settings didn't change anything and the settings appear the same between stock and CM based roms.
did you go into cellular networks and see if lte/cdma is the prefered network over global
Yes, LTE preferred.

Ultimate Guide To Flashing CM 14.1 or Rather 7.1+ on the Sprint S4 SPH-L720

I'm going to assume you're on stock lollipop, doesn't matter what radio
This guide will help those who cannot text, receive call or make calls, and those with no service after flashing and cm 14.1 based rom, Hoping to try out MM soon so if I find anything relating to this, i'll add it to this guide
Step 1 : Start by rooting your devices, here is a guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257101
Step 2 : Install twrp official app, grant it permissions and follow instructions on installing twrp recovery.
Step 3 : Download any custom 7. + rom of your choice (RR, Oct-N, Vanir) and Gapps of your choice (16gig models I recommend micro or smaller)
Step 4 : For Some devices, most will end up with No Service (I've experienced this and its one of the reasons why i'm making this guide) I recommend you flash this Patch to fully enable GSM on CDMA Global phones with Android http://www.internauta37.altervista.org/en/patch-fully-enable-gsm-cdma-global-phones-android
Step 5 : At this point some might start receiving call, text messaging (incoming an outgoing) and some wont receive calls so I recommend you flash this Mod by @Geofferey at https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-sprint/general/fix-calls-receiving-gsm-t3213006 ( I recommend the MM-GSM)
Step 6 : reboot device, you should be able to receive incoming calls now
All credit is to guys that came with these mods, and I do not take any for that
just helping point a brother to the right place
thanks
Are there any up-to-date ROMs? The Oct-N is dated at 207-04-12 ... Thanks
https://www.teamoctos.com/oct-n-weekly-lineageos-base/oct-14.1_release/jfltespr/
Thanks! This is the first post I've seen of this kind, and I'm trying to decide if it'll be worth potentially losing my unlock for Nougat.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-sprint/general/fix-calls-receiving-gsm-t3213006 This link, has anyone successfully attempted this flash yet and received a working signal on an older modem and/or unlocked domestically by flashing this? Any input on this would be incredibly helpful.
(I know you said lollipop, however...)I'm stuck on KitKat because I can't find any other ROM that either won't drain battery (gpe lollipop), and won't break my unlock, turn out incompatible with my baseband, or (frustratingly) update it, resetting my baseband modifications.
Edit: Works fine, finally running on Nougat rom.

Been running JDC since this guide and haven't had any issues, glad the guide helped you
Hello and thank you for this guide! It didn't solve my problem alone, but did help me to find my way to what I needed to do.
Here's how I fixed my problem (No service, No 3G, No LTE on Ting with JDC 7.1.2 rom)
Preface: Only follow these steps if the steps in the original post did not work for you. I'm not responsible for any problems you run into.
1. Follow Steps 1-4 of this guide.
2. If on Ting (or other MVNO), install MVNO Slayer (Buzbee's version) in TWRP. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65917850&postcount=30
3. Download a Build.prop Editor of your choosing and add the line "ro.telephony.default_network=10" under # Radio.
4. Save your build.prop file you edited and restart phone. You should now have working LTE, 2g, 3g, and 1x. Enjoy.
is it possible to flash any custom rom from other variants similar to how other guys are able to flash non sprint roms on sprint note 3s like here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-sprint/help/note-3-sprint-sm-n900p-t3595399 i don't need calling or data since i'll be using this as back up phone to play around on

I'll write this out the best I can. Never written tutorials before.
Step 1: With your current system, flash the build.prop CDMA TO GSM (i think zip) zip file.
Step 2: In TWRP, flash your rom (7.1, etc). Wipe System, Data (not internal), Cache, Davik/ART Cache, and then install your rom; note that i9505 roms will work as well.
Step 3: After the rom is installed, do the account setup and start setup, then if you notice you have no signal, go to Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Network Mode, or Preferred Network Mode > WCDMA/GSM.
Step 4: Wait. After setting the preferred mode, you should wait at least 10 minutes for signal.
Step 5: If it didn't work, tell me. I'm terrible at text tutorials.

Nope. It was my own problem. (old battery, and was using a bad micro sd card inserted 24/7)
I got some decent screen-on time with the Nightmare governor in Stweaks on the first two cores, and conservative on 3 and 4.

gsm unlock vs. data fix???
Hi all. Pardon me for being dense, but I really don't know what I'm doing. I have an unlocked SPH-L720T mostly functioning on Mintsim right now. I can make calls, have regular texting, and I have Edge data. The problem is, no 3g and 4g. Do I need to follow all the steps posted in this thread in order to fix the data, or are the beginning steps a gsm unlock? I used idoneapps to get my phone unlocked and working on Mintsim. I've added Mintsims APNs manually. I'm on OK3, Sprint stock rom, and looking at installing a custom rom in the meantime. I'm also trying to figure out if current modem vs. android versions have anything to do with the data trouble, as I read a reference to that somewhere on these forums, but have yet to find anything solid.
There is now https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga.../jdcteam-android-source-project-oreo-t3685231 (CDMA support is WIP?)
Hi MY problem is incoming and outcoming call no sound. please help ! my phone : sph l720 and all stock rom and custom rom tested but fail.
