Pretty sure those are iDEN though. R-UIM wasn't really anywhere but China, and even then it never went mainstream.

I don't know, mine is a US T-Mobile, so they handle repairs. I have read some posts that seemed to indicate there was, but maybe they meant "the repair center in your country".
Edit: I guess you are right, it is by country. See if this thread helps:

As the phone is not yet available in Portugal it might not have automatic APN settings for your service provider.
If that's the reason you just have to find these settings (Google) and enter them.

Its a hardware problem, The phone dont detect the sim card.
Get it replaced from the place you bought it? And definitely hardware problem, but still try 2-3 sims before making a call.
Just bad luck for you man, what can I say.

for all i know you would need to take apart the phone and possibly change the components on the mainboard, which would be quite a difficult task ;S

I highly doubt it. even if you did manage to piece it together, you would have to make kernel modifications yourself to compensate for the unorignal hardware. not saying it is impossible, but it will be A LOT of work. Also, i don't think anyone else has done this before, so you will have to think and design everything yourself!
Unless I'm mistaken, can't you go into the phone and type *#*#4636#*#* > Phone information, then change the network type?

I think the C6603 variant has (not sure).
It's in the drop down list, if that means anything? Not that I can test (UK doesn't use CDMA at all).

I dont have any suggestion with Xperia Z. However, Xperia Z1 has SOL23 variant sold by "au" in Japan that has CDMA radio. I saw some unlock SOL23 being sold on the internet. If you get this device, you may have to modify only software related stuffs (since unlock ones have only GSM/LTE unlocked, not CDMA).

[Q] nexus 6 does not detect any SIM card

Hi!
my Nexus 6 detects no SIM card, I bought it used and with this problem. I'm from Europe and I suspect that the phone could come from US . This could have something to do ?
What can I do?
Thank you very much !
European sims work in North American version fine.. Sounds like a faulty sim tray. Send it back.

thanx!
I asked for price of sim card reader change repair in a local Repair shop and it is around 30 to 50€, good news if this is the solution!
I was afraid this problem could have something to do with the last owner changing software, I am beginner in all this matters.

Two Network Indicators?

Any idea why I've got two Network Indicators in my status bar? Can I get rid of one? I've got a TA-1055 with a single SIM.
Change the sim card to another slot.

I don't believe this is possible, the TA-1055 only has one SIM slot?

Thanks for this, the suggestion of taking the SIM out while the phone is still on worked as per the thread on the Nokia community website. Now I can calm down, it was annoying (but completely harmless).
