I had a problem with my galaxy note n7000. The problem is on camera.
When using the camera in the dark flash turned on but when the picture is taken turns off right before the picture is taken. And leaving me with a dark picture. So I think the problem is on timing of flash.
??? Does anyone know, how to fix this problem?
is the phone rooted? you can try using the camera with an app like camerazoom fx.

Still camera having that problem. It seems photo is taken with flash. But after taking photo when I view it, photo is dark ( like photos without flash in dark place).

Try to use the option of torch flash (a type where the flash will be perpetually on) try such options. Is the phone rooted...answer this question!)

yes I have rooted. (I have told it on my second post)
On torch flash it works but it keeps flash ON until photo is taken. On any other option it didn't work.
I want to make it work on other options like auto, or flash ON option. Any idea?

Well u can try reinstalling the camera.apk in the /system folder. Else if the torch flash works well it's ok isn't it?

if there is no other option than flash torch than it is also enough. but I have noticed that on flash torch the flash is not much brighter...
AND one more question
will camera flash problem be fixed if I buy and replace camera?
thank you Varad297 for your help
Well it's true that torch flash isn't that bright. And i don't think a new camera can do it. But if your phone falls in warranty then you surely can unroot and send it to samsung service. Looks more of a software problem, and also a quite unique one too! Suggest u to private message some if the experts at xda for better help.

Hey guys,
As you know there is an app called which turns on the LED Flash. I tried to use camcorder and Tesla at the same time but seems like camcorder wont work simultaneously with led on.
I was wondering if our developers have an idea to make it work.
using camcorder when its dark it totally not practical.
Froyo (Android 2.2 as you seem to not know) does this.

Try the Nexus one torch. I got it working.
if you open the app from the menu then close it to open the camcorder then it wont work, but the n1 torch has a widget. you can click on the widget to turn it on then clock on the camcorder.
the nexus already does this with the 2.2 froyo update. its built right into the camera app, straight from google themselves.
Im using Froyo actually, I opened Tesla first then opened camera to switch to camcorder but it fc.
I installed rudrigez rom, do you guys have separate camcorder icon, mine just has camera (used to be separate)
Im gonna try torch as u said tnx let u know it worked

No, you can switch the LED on/off. It is built into the video recorder. I use it all the time
My old BB Storm could do that.

heheh yeah, open the camera and switch to video mode. it can now turn on the LED while you record a video in the dark.
This thread should be renamed "iPhone 4 can use flash during video recording just like froyo has always been able to do"
Anyone know if the Camera app can be prevented from starting on boot? (Perhaps a little contrary to the spirit of the camera, but I use it more for development than for taking pictures, and I don't like the lens motor wasting its time and wearing out its parts). Does it use the "normal" autostart mechanisms that might be disabled by something like Gemini App Manager, or is the camera start up built specially into the guts of the android version on this thing?
Don't know about the details, but enabling the screen lock (swipe to unlock) in settings stops the camera from starting when waking the device with the power button (doesn't stop the start after boot though).

Well, it stops the lens cranking out immediately on power up, but as soon as you do swipe the screen, you are in the camera app and the lens pops out. I'm looking to avoid the camera app completely. I guess if I get up the nerve to root this thing, I can try out an app manager and see if I can disable it on boot, but I'd hate to do unnatural things to the camera and then find out it didn't do any good .
If you are on the home screen when you switch off it will not open into the Camera app.

That depnds on how "off" is is. Once the suspend or hibernate or whatever it is expires and it goes "fully" off, it always starts in the camera.
Are you sure you really turned it off when it went to your homescreen without starting the camera app?
When starting from fast-startup or on a clean boot it will always start the camera app.
The only time it doesn't is if you had it in standby.
A work around is to use this app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle
Use it to set links to your favorite applications.
When you boot to the lock screen pull down the notification bar, select the app you want, then swipe to unlock and it will open in the app you selected.
Of course it would be much easier if Samsung had simply enabled lock screen shortcuts

It would be really nice to disable the camera on boot. It would also be nice to get rid of this stupid mesage:
"SD card inserted. Change storage location to SD card?"
I thought there was a thread for that, but can't find it now.

I only started to get this message since the new update, it appears as though the SD card doesn't get initiated before the camera app loads and in turn thinks you've inserted a new card, when it finally does get loaded. Either they need to put a delay in place or somehow not load the camera app until it's established whether there is a card installed or not.
Disable the BOOT_COMPLETE permission in the camera app but make sure something else has it or you boot to a blank screen.
how can we disable a permission ?
is there a simple app for that ?
Thanks.

XPosed Framework and the App Settings module will allow you to adjust the permissions.

Thanks. However, As far as I know Xposed framework is for 4.2+ devices. Camera has 4.1.2, so where can I find that Xposed framework ?

Ok;
I've found and installed Xposed framework with App Settings module.
The app that I should change permission is com.sec.android.app.camera , right ?
When I try to chenge its permissions, it says "Shared packages not yet supported"
so ?
Get the latest files a quick Google search for Xposed Framework should get you to the right thread as I don't have it to hand and try it then. The settings asp changes from "Xposed Settings" to "Asp settings" in the latest version.

I got app settings from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327541
It says "App settings" as you say. so it should be the new version ?
but it does not change shared packages.
where else can I find it ?
---------- Post added at 10:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:09 PM ----------
my version is app settings 0.4 and it is also discussed here that "shared packages are not supported":
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36029129&highlight=shared#post36029129
are you sure that it is working for you ?
I still couldn't solve this. Can you tell me which version you've used for this ?
thx.
I need help please...
Alright, so I can't find the answer to my question anywhere so I am posting here.
Is there anyway to keep the LED light on for taking pictures? I hate how the LED only turns on when the picture is actually being taken because the pictures are always out of focus or over exposed. I would like to either have a way to keep the flashlight running in the background with the camera on or some other kind of mod to do essentially the same thing.
I am on rooted 4.3 with S-off. If you need any more details, let me know!
EDIT: Alright, I found a flashlight app that keeps the flashlight on without being in the app or the screen being on. The problem, however, is that if it is on, the camera app says "Unable to start camera" when I try to open it. Perhaps the stock camera app needs a mod to allow the LED to be on when launched?
MrFrizzy
You could always start videorecording and keep the flash on during the entire recording. Meanwhile you can tap the photo button to take pictures. Delete the videoclip afterwards. Thats the only way I think. Or maybe with an app, but I have no clue which one would suit your needs.

While that would work if I really needed it, the pictures would be 1920x1080 instead of the 4mp. I'm really looking for an app or mod to allow the flashlight to stay on without the app being open.

You can disable the Stock one and use the thirdparty one you have installed.
You can not open the camere with the camera button when you have multiple camera apps installed.
Atleast I cant.

I want to add this mode to my camera but when I want to download in samsung app it is not!

Is there another solution?
Thank you for your help
Video collage is not part of camera but of Gallery. It is called stories.
Adding mode to samsung stock camera can be done by tapping +/download in mode tab (swipe right in camera)
are you sure you have a samsung?
In my message I say that in samsung app he does not offer me this mode!
Yes I have N950U1, stock FW.
See this Samsung article, then you understand my answer

What @onnaj try to say is, you don't will find that app on Samsung apps store. This feature is already included into your gallery app.
Don't be afraid to hit the "Thanks" button if someone helped you. It don't hurts
so how to make it appear?
