Fully story here at androidcentral[dot]com
This should be great, as porting it to the Sprint version should be a piece of cake for the guys at CM. When this comes out, we should have a fully functioning CM 10.1 rom for the HTC One
I wonder if this will be an official ota flash maybe an option for is running sense

Still not official. At this point, it sure does sound like it could happen, but I'm still skeptical until I hear that official press release.
Safe to say it's official.

Again, I'm still skeptical. It's probably going to happen, but until I see the press release, it's still just rumors.
with multiple sites reporting it, I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
I highly doubt that HTC will put out an official AOSP Rom for the Sprint/Sense versions we already have, but a developer could easily port the rom to our phones.
Weapons of mass destruction too.
They did a story about it and there are not too many benefits about running stock on this.
You lose out on Zoe and Beats Boom sound.
What HTC needed to do was add a shutter button.
I would be more than willing to give up Zoe and Beats Audio (Which is basically just an EQ setting you could replicate in CM) in exchange for pure google 4.2.2 ROM, or CM 10.1
Only if...
I agree with the physical shutter button. One like the evo 3d had would be awesome.
I am very very excited at the potential for aosp...but I would miss zoe.
I hate the shutter button. Always hitting it on accident on the LTE.
OP, thanks for heads up about this

It'll work but getting the radios to function over will be a chore I would imagine.
I'm sad they just don't flat out have a CDMA version to go along with it.

Nevermind.
I did buy a nexus 4, what can I say I've always wanted a nexus phone and I was irritated when the galaxy Nexus was put on the play store just a day or 2 after my 30 day return Window was closed on my Vivid. However after lots of thought, I decided screw it, might as well keep the Vivid, a good backup phone, and resale value isn't the best anyway, and I regretted selling off the Captivates when I got the Vivids for me and my wife. So I'm not going anywhere, looking forward to the finished product!
Also eta is 5-6 weeks so I'll be using the Vivid quite a bit longer.

I keep debating about getting a nexus 4...only thing holding me back is the no SD slot...16gb isn't enough for me and my 200mb data plan can't support cloud storage :/ (would still keep my vivid...)
Edit...don't respond to this post...just realized it has the potential to lead to non-cm10 related conversation...blame my add

So what's the difference between pacman and the other 2 or 3 jb roms that are here?
Sent from my HTC PH39100 using xda premium
IIRC you'd need to flash the boot.img again for rom you want to restore if it uses different kernel.
davebegue said:
I think pac man is like phandroid and aokp combined? Not sure though. Hey any tips on restoring a nandroid... If I flash the pac man one, and then want to go back to my nandroid - does it restore the old kernel/boot.img or should I flash the old boot.img before or after restoring the old nandroid? I am s-on. Skeered o wires

Since you're S-On, you'll need to reflash boot.img manually. If you were s-off, you can nandroid backup your boot partition, and it will restore as well, but not when you're s-off. You can backup your boot partition, but it won't restore.
ParanoidAndroid introduces Tablet and Phablet modes, as well as per-app DPI and per-app coloring
AOKP adds customizations for the UI, nav bar, lock screen, power menu, etc

My main reason is that I dont find any info that the one will ever get a 100% working aosp rom as im not a huge fan of sense or touchwiz and the s4 is already getting cm nightlies for some variants and shouldn't be long till all versions do. Also what phone do you think will get more dev support?

Pretty sure that if you been "modding" devices alike for awhile you would know more about HTC devices and there source code and binaries arn't just a overnight process to port (not to say samsung are easier at times).
AOSP is very close to being done via the msm8960 group that is porting all the code daily. Daniel on the team posted this on his Google+ today Cm10.1 HTC ONE. By next week we will almost have a working AOSP build / kernel for this device, outside polishing its gonna be awesome and worth the wait. If you insist on a s4 go for it! its your money, your decision!

If it was released by HTC it wouldn't brick our phones.... Also why wouldn't the carrier allow it? They have nothing to lose from it. And lastly, the stock android One is the same price as the one you would buy from sprint or att off contract.

I've always remembered basic updates Froyo to Gingerbread bricking phones and having carriers pull it afterwards. Even recently T Mobile had to pull the LG L9 update to jelly bean.
And I'm sure the carriers wouldn't like their bloatware being removed.

The IR blaster would work actually, it just wouldn't come with a dedicated app for it.
Three of those items, camera/video mix/Zoe are the same thing considering all of that is in the camera coding.
So your list boils down to two things. No flip board and waiting for HTC to modify their camera software.

But the HTC one is riddled with QC issues and doesn't really improve much over the last Gen of phones. The next Gen has snapdragon 800, 3000 mAh batteries and whatnot. Plus, the 800s are really close. Like the G2 is already here.
The One isn't that good IMHO. The camera is overhyped really and the number of defects people are reporting make this phone worth skipping.
To stay on track with your question the CM experience is something I don't think someone in their right mind would recomend. Hell it has a tendency to burn up some phones and need replaced.

I agree if your sole decision is CM. Then wait. Cm was better on my gs3 than on here. It's pretty buggy and as has been said there are many reports of people's phones bricking cause of cm. To the quality control issue... I have had none, this phone has been great in that regard... But maybe I'm just lucky . In all honesty, overall this is the best phone I've ever owned. I don't think you'd go wrong with this phone.

My $0.02:
For the short while I was able to use CM, I wasn't exactly blown away. It was exactly the same as my GS2, but with better specs. There were no extra features or anything. It looked nice with Black Infinitum, but again, not really different from my old phone. There were some bugs, so...
And you do have to watch out for the max freq lock, which will burn up your phone as it sits.
EDIT: However, CM Nemesis is coming soon. I would still wait for for a new device with better specs, but hey, this is a fairly new device.

I really haven't had any issues since 10.1
Sent from my One using XDA Premium HD app
I used it for a week while on vacation and while it was nice to see a less bloated One with all the additional customization .. there were several issues and features that made me go back.
The biggest was GPS lock - I could not get a steady lock and if I did the radius was quite large, throwing me all over the map.
The phone actually seemed less responsive overall - including a slight delay when turning on the phone.
Missed the htc car app - google car and the ones from the market are not the same
and the IR - now it has only come in handy once, when my remote died; however, the remote can be fun at the bar
The HTCOne is a unique phone, the button layout is strange and is my biggest headache. Contrary to most posts above I like the CM experience on it better then sense, but this is my first (and only ever!) sense phone. I much prefer the AOSP experience. CM is lacking in a few places but core functionality is there and works good enough for me for daily use, for the record I'm on 10.2 20130819
Truthfully though I think I would wait for a new nexus device. I love the feel of the One in my hand but it's nothing amazing hardware wise.

Those are mods made for GE (ported) not AOSP mods for CM

No major issues for everyday use. I've been running nightlies since I got the phone. Battery life is awesome and no random reboots.

Just a quick check guys.
Does the music still sound wonky? 10.1 would make my songs really quiet then normal then quiet etc. It drove me crazy.
Also, does the wake still take like a second? That was also a problem with 10.1.

If you want to know more about it...look up Ubuntu Touch. It actually runs much like Ubuntu, only this booted in like 15 seconds first boot haha
Nice i was wondering when you were gonna get your feet wet
That looks beautiful. I tried a while back before they flipped the image and couldn't get it to boot.
Omg I miss your work! I haven't seen you since the photon days. I wish you would get a G2 so we can benefit from your wonderful work

Well, I been playing around with MIUI trying to help DH and decided to mess around with this since it looked interesting. Gonna take a lot of work at this point, but at least we have boot
This is legit.
Nice work, hope it all works out soon would love to try this.

When I went out to get device back in Nov, I was between this and the G2. I chose this after the Optimus G's inherent fun....not to mention that device was released 3 months before this one, yet is still on 4.1.2. This device is being updated at rocket ship speed, which is a HUGE change from what we all experienced on the Photon...LOL

Well, it may be some time. I have it booting, touch works well, navigation is great. Looks like a great DD...once all working. However, as with all new forays, there are some bugs...some easier than others to squash.
1) Camera preview works, seems to take a picture, but hell if I can figure out where it went...LOL
2) Networking is NG
3) Cellular is NG
4) Audio is NG (this could be a big one, as if you look at the way it needs to be configured, it requires writing of a UCM mixer config for the deviec...LOL
But, I'm going to keep working

Yea the photon turned into a joke sadly. But the good thing about the Optimus G and G2.. They may be behind on updates but both are updated by great devs with the latest version as quick as any other device with all features working nearly 100%. The G2 already has 4.4 internationally and it also helps that the N5 is pretty much the same hardware kind of like the atrix and photon.

Well, before I could do any sort of collaboration, I have to get the source I've got building upped. It's really screwey how they have this thing set up....took 3 different tries to get the right files to actually repo sync. Their instructions seem quite incomplete in some areas, and are totally GONE in others (like the links to getting VoiceCall and HiFi audio working...links are page not found).
Once I get it synced remotely, I'll be more than happy to have some others pitch in. I have a feeling it's going to take a few of us to do it any way.
But for now...if anyone knows how to write UCM mixer files for alsa, I'd love to have some pointers. Their explanation is nearly NIL...LOL
Seeing this put a really big smile on my face
@Th3Bill
Sounds good looking forward to this rom good work.

For now, I'm going to keep it here until I get it working a bit more...once I get it fixed a little more and sync my source, I'll be moving to Development....just wanted to put it up that there's something new cooking
