Let me answer your question this way ...
I never put any display protection foil on the X8.
Since I'm a Android user, and now allow me to pull a analogy to a iPhone related story, I'm not brain-dead enough to stuff my phone into the pockets of my pants together with the car-/house keys (was actually a story about Steve Jobs doing exactly that and then throwing a fit at the engineers because - lo-and-behold! - his iPhone had scratches; who would've thought that!?).
I only used a pouch for the X8 while I had it in any of my pockets - and the same goes for my SGS Galaxy S II ... inside a fitting pouch when running around with it.
Not a single scratch on the X8, not a single scratch on the SGS S2, not a single scratch on my tablets.
I have been using the same proctection sticker that came on it from the box and always kept it in a lether pouch witch I bought in the same place and time where I bought my phone. its been a year - only the red cover seems to loose it shining.
I used a screen protector for a month, but when it became dirty and whit that air blebs, I remove it and then I realise.. oh my screen is awesome and never back to screen protectros. My right pocket is own by my X8, nothing else.
Surpirisingly, I put my X8 in my pocket with coins and it doesn't get scratched! xD
And do you use protective foil cover?

plus sp makes 'touchness' of screen much weeker, especially stock sp does that.

I have a gel case for my x8. I used to have screen protector. But I took it off and realised that my phone looks better without screen protector. It is in my pocket with my wallet my keys (may I remind you I am a kid not an adult its just I got my house keys cuz I went to secondly school and I come home earlier) and maybe some coins. I don't have a scratch. I don't use any foil either

Hi guys
My front facing camera always looks very fuzzy and I suspect its bcos my screen protector is covering it. Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem and/or knows how to cut a hole in the screen protector specially for the camera?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my LG-P970 using xda app-developers app
woot~ maybe look for one with the hole already? I bought it that way for like 5 dlls at a local store, it has the hole for camera and another one like "L" for the sensors
I already checked if a clear screen protector interrupts the front camera and the answer is no. But I found out that a mirror/matte screen protector really interrupts the front camera..
You can find on ebay many good screen protectors for a few dollars.
Thks gonna go search for it now

Actl you don't need one...the gorilla glass is holding out well for me since I removed the screen protector few weeks ago. Everything on the screen seems much crisper too
Sent from my LG-KU5900 using xda premium
Oh actually gorilla glass is quite weak against sand and coins, anyway I got the matte one but had to cut out the hole for the camera myself. ..

But I don't go to the beach nor put my coins in the same pocket lol. And btw doesn't the matte screen protector make everything on the screen look fuzzy?

Not for me lol I think our screen makes up for the screen protector somehow lol

Hi!
I own my N4 for about 3 months now and yesterday I suddenly found some fine scratches on my display glass! I've had my HTC Desire (Gorilla Glass 1) for 3 years without any damn scratch! So I am asking myself if the old Gorilla Glass was better than the new one?! Well i've never used any case but I handle my phones carefully all the time and never put something else like e.g. keys in the same pocket.. Could this be a warranty case?
Anyone else discovering scratches on their Nexus?

i only found threads about breaking / cracking glass, not about scratches..
but if you say there are some, i'm deeply sorry and will try to find them harder
You're pockets aren't as clean as you think they are.
And no, it's not a valid warranty claim.
And yes, I do have one faint scratch on mine.

Beware - WEAK Gorilla Glass! Scratches out of nowhere

I use face unlock and seems every time I talk on the phone and often just taking it out of my pocket, the front lens is smudged pretty badly. I'm wiping it off a few times a day. Never had this problem with my Evo 3D.
Anyone have any clever ideas to reduce the smudging? Maybe some kind of protective cover that won't ruin pictures?

This sounds really stupid, but how are you putting your phone into your pocket? The fabric of your pocket isn't exactly thick, and sweat and grime from your body easily winds up all over anything inside of your pocket.
I bicycle a lot on campus, so I found that the easiest thing to do was to make sure my phone always went in with the screen facing out. That alone saved a lot of wiping.
It's more of a problem after a call but not always. I try to keep screen facing out in my pocket. But this is a good point too.

Today I dropped my phone for the first time
The so called aluminum frame was instantly damaged and to my surprise it was paint that chipped off.
Underneath there is just a hard kind of plastic.
I looked all over the place for a replacement frame but can't find any.
Anyone else with this problem?

First of all, greetings to everyone on this forum, this is my first post here.
I have a black Xperia SP (C5303), and have the same problem. Mine dropped on the street from my hand and although was in his leather casing, somehow dropped on the only side without protection. Was very suprised when I saw that 'alumium' frame was very damaged (damage looks like on your phone) from dropping only 1+ m of height inside of a protection case. The good news is that nothing else was damaged.
The phone is great for my needs, but I'm still not convinced with quality of aluminium frame. Probably this is the price of his weight. Before had Samsung Galaxy S Advance and dropped him accidently only once but without even a scratch.
I was very upset with the damage, but because of its black color it is not as visible as on your white model, so for now I won't be searching for a replacement frame... Hopefully won't be dropping him too much.
Greetings.
Yep it happens, even when I am charging, when the charger scratches the coat on the port, the paint will be chipped off.
Luckily I bought a black one, and the problem is not so bad and visible.

Quite a disappointment. My previous sony phones where solid as a rock.
It looks easy to remove though with the two screws. What you guys think

I think it only happens to white models, on a Spanish forum there is another user with the same problem (paint chipping off)
http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=668090
Now I regret choosing the white model, I have paint chipped off around the data cable port, stereo out, and also around power button :crying:
There are replacement frames on ebay for like 10$.

Look at this http://www.ebay.it/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=replacement+xperia+sp&LH_PrefLoc=2&LH_BIN=1
Thanks a lot for the link. Not sure if I dare to replace it though. Kind of need a disassembly video first...

I recommend using a good soft case like the one below.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Matte-TPU-S...DA_Cases&var=490159410395&hash=item2c6ffb4d1c
Same problem in my Spanish SP... Shouldn't this be solved by Sony? aluminium frame is not made of aluminum, isnĀ“t it?
I have also the same problem on my SP. is it normal?? Sony has to replace our frame with a better one.
I'm very disappointed with this ****ty paintjob, my hpone is barely 1 month old and it already got chipped paint on a several spots on the frame. I thought the frame was aluminium because every review I've read said so.... even if it wasn't aluminium, the paint shouldn't have come off so easily. i read sony used water-based paint, maybe that's why.
